Obviously I wasn't being serious about moving in with him. I just want ANB to learn as much as he possibly can about the way he goes about his footy.
-
ANB would do worse than asking to move in with Jordan Lewis in 2017. While he doesn't necessarily have the "c factor" that Lewis does, he could learn a bloody lot about playing both inside and outside.

Fixed for accuracy.

FB: Frost, T McDonald, Jetta HB: Hunt, O. McDonald, Hibberd C: Vince, Tyson, Lewis HF: Petracca, Weideman, Kent FF: Watts, Hogan, Garlett FOLL: Gawn, Jones, Viney INT: Brayshaw, Melksham, Salem, Stretch EMERG: Harmes, Bugg, Lumumba The above is clearly our best team.
-
Only a rookie listed player, so won't have a huge impact on our trade/draft strategy moving forward.

Presumably for the better for us. Which would then validate my thinking of not upgrading the two rookies this year. -

See bolded part above, Stuart. Again, go and annoy someone else. -

We currently have 1 spare spot on our list. If Dunn leaves that leaves us with one other list change that we must make to go to the draft. Presumably this would be Dawes. If that's the case, we have 3 "live" picks, currently 57, 59 and 84. If we upgrade both Wagner and Smith, it means we are using Pick 59 on one of them. I personally would rather give Taylor a crack at a "speculative potential" player at 59, rather than looking for something in the rookie draft. -

I'm certain that many people were saying last year that the 2016 draft was going to be a super draft. -
Means they may be paying less for them, but that's not really an advantage if they have minimal before it to spend anyway! I guess they would need to work out if 47 is best spent on Dunn, or one of their F/S.
-
Dunn, 59 and 84 for their 47 and 65. Gives us 47, 57, 65 as our first 3 picks, and helps Collingwood out with their F/S's that they want this year.

No, we differ on list management ideas. For a start, trade period hasn't finished, so I will reassess our draft strategy when I know what the final draft order will be. I expect our draft order to change in some shape over the next 24 hours. I also know that 12 months is a long time in football, and that upgrading Smith now, who is relatively a project player that has been in the system for 12 months, and Wagner, who has definitely shown "something" but let's see him do it again next year. -

There will still be plenty of opportunity to use our "better" picks of kids next year, as well as having space at the back end of the draft to use on upgrading. -

That's entirely possible, but we don't need to upgrade them this year, so leave them where they are. -

Why the rush to upgrade the rookies? -

How? Hibberd is worth a 2nd rounder, which we used, then upgraded our pick 68 by 11 spots. Think it was a fair deal all round to be honest. -

Considering the "experts" had us just doing a straight 29 for player, I think I'm by far the nearest to the pin. Thanks for your encouragement though, Seraph! -

I was close! -
No. Let's not forget that we have Spencer as a back-up. If he (Pencil) has to step in, I'd imagine Pedo and/or Watts will play more ruck time. And with the addition of Lewis in to our midfield, he will hopefully teach our other midfields how to shark an opposition ruck.

Vice Captain would suffice, and I don't think there will be anyone that would be disappointed if this were the case. Or "sack the cook"... -

Lewis presser about to be live (at 1pm) on afl website... -
First to admit, I would've delisted him at the end of his first contract. Mainly due to the fact that we hadn't really seen him on the park, mostly due to injury, but in brief appearances at Casey he did little to inspire me. List management is always a hard thing for the mug punter to do. At the end of the day, we have to make changes to our list each year, and without knowing who is looking at getting traded, etc, it was a bloke like Hunt that I would've moved on. There's a lot of people making similar noise about the likes of ANB and JKH this year. 12 month on (from when I had him delisted), I'm just grateful that through whatever means, we kept him on the list, and were rewarded for the faith the FD had in him. I really look forward to 2017 to see Hunty take that next step, continue to own the HBF, and hopefully push Melksham up on to a wing.

And you have obviously forgotten to read my post...

Would imagine part of Lewis coming to the MFC was to play alongside of BOTH Clarry and Gus.
