  1. He's a type of pick I'm not sure we've seen for a while at the dees. I feel all our mid-picks have been absolute top echelons (Viney, Oliver, Bradshaw, petracca) so it's hard to know what to expect from him, and from the coaches in how they use him. From all signs, seems like a real footballer, so should fit a few roles. IQ, can kick, up for it and ready to go. Seems a good pick.
  2. The Brayshaw puzzle piece is obviously sorely missed by Goody. Linked to two similar profiles. He'd be great of course, it's just cost.
  3. Can play, is an upgrade on a couple. sure.
  4. genius will be seen next week against Fremantle! tougher ruck challenge. But huge credit- the defensive setup was outstanding, and the younger players are filling roles exceptionally. The ruck setup hit the nail on the head for the conditions.
  5. Reckon it's got to be two-pronged to cover the ruck, around the grounds and his % game time. Fullerton and Jefferson. Schache a chance for games experience over debutant.
  6. If there ever was a time for a test for Fullerton as a ruck chop out/big this would be it.
  7. A feel a couple of months ago the comment's here were swinging towards Jeffo unlikely to make it in AFL, now we're begging to get him in. Love it. Never seen him play, would love to see him have a run though. I feel the posts about Melksham are keeping the door open for him to come straight in, which seems a bit odd. have I missed any confirmation either way on this? Otherwise just based off the game, I felt Tomlinson stayed in as a mature head with the smaller defenders being a younger bunch. Wouldn't be shocked to see him out for Salem. Besides that, not much. Don't know if Bowie is straight back in.
  8. I was genuinely concerned at the North game, purely for the inconsistency through the game. I watched it back, and just felt like it so up and down for both teams (though of course I was more aware of the Dees ones). I didn't recognize the umpire list, but that doesn't mean too much. But I do wonder if there is enough depth in the umpire ranks.
  9. you know what, screw it. All aboard the Kenter-train. I'm sick of tearing hair out trying to work out what on earth we're doing on-field. Pick him this week, he'll kick 6. It'll be fun. Nothing more familiar to a dees fan than getting a whopping and pouring all hope back into draft times. lean into familiarity.
  10. I see this as a more fitting version of KF backup profile. Allow Turner to play def (we need backup the next couple of years), more promise than Schache and BBB, with more of a ruck string in the bow, and more ready to go than Jefferson. we’ll move BBB and Schache on at the end of the year, and instead of drafting a long limbed project they get someone with development already. Makes sense. The question is can he make a difference this year, and I wouldn’t rule it out. I don’t know what it says about fullarton though.
  11. maybe left-field, but I would have him in our wing rotation. I feel we lack competition in the air between the arcs without Petty in form supporting Gawn. (Also feel that Windsor is an absolute jet but doesn't have the full nous of winging yet and we get caught out occasionally. that's not a sleight, the leagues best wingers are veterans for a reason.) Tomlinson was recruited for that role, he might not have the same tank now he's trained as a defender but I reckon he'd add a whole different dimension to the wing role that we don't have currently.
  12. I can't be totally sure, but I think the two stark examples of ridiculous flying was with Petty injured, Gawn off and JVR rucking. I don't remember it being an all-game thing, more a late tactic. wouldn't stake my life on it, or even my left boot, but pretty sure.
  13. I'm on McAdam watch, and I'm super curious on the job description he was brought across from. Got quite a few Frisch-qualities, but there's obviously a reason we've grabbed him. He's definitely short of confidence and maybe some fitness, but we've brought him in for a purpose so we'll definitely persist with him.
  14. So Windsor is fun and all on the wing, and obviously the future. But I have wondered if we’ve lacked that experienced professional ability to end up in the right place at the right time to defend f50 rebounds and enter well. Potentially something the more wily hunter or billing’s could add. I still think windsors assets are best 23 but with a higher % rotation to an experienced player.
  15. Had him say the same thing to me. The mid-foot injuries affect you with accelerating out of changes of direction. I've wondered how Petty is going with it.
  16. Can't say anything for his impact, but heck Byron Pickett was entertaining.
  17. I'm fascinated by the change of focus statistically. there's some good points from posters here differing to how extreme the change is, but it'll remain a watch for me. TBH at the end of the day I'm happy to see change, it hasn't worked for the previous couple of years winning a bunch of contested balls and just assuming we'll squeeze enough goals out of it. I currently have no idea which markers are our best markers to go by, and that's kinda fun.
  18. I liked this game because it didn't hold to the standard narrative. It wasn't one of Port letting one go, or us dominating certain statistics. First quarter they were outspreading us, the defence was rattled, and than we went into siege mode and just inched our way out of trouble. My read was the coaching at 1/4 time was- Make it a contested game and take our opportunities. We knew they'd hit us fast, but we'd just absorb and make contests where possible and than take advantage of moments. 3 votes- coaching staff.
  19. I just can’t work out his position
  20. Reading the tea leaves, goody generally goes with next best ranked if it kind of fits the system. Fullarton has been emergency every week, reckon it’ll be petty back and fullarton forward. No great hand-wringing for me, Petty will still effect games then will head back forward in a couple of weeks, maybe it’ll time well with BBB needing a break.
  21. Totally a hunch, but I felt last year his midfield minutes were held back because of his defensive positioning around stoppages, and too many of that type. Currently I do wonder if we feel fragile in that space without Gus, with Viney playing a more defensive role at stoppages this week. Kozzie is maturing and this with it, but I just have that feeling this is a limiter to extended minutes and not getting caught out by oppos working him out. short bursts to catch them off guard and whatnot. Tl;dr he's learning, and getting there after development last year. is a weapon.
  22. Judd McVee. The name is top notch. The play is even better.
  23. Yep noticed we were getting done by it toward the end of the first. Shut down the corridor early than the wide kicks started to get us. I actually we did seem to restructure in the second and third but that Sydney camerawork did me no favours for trying to keep track… i wonder what a more dominant CHF does for shutting down opposition options. I feel like the good ones influence those wing high kicks and they would influence decision making.
