  1. I felt exactly the same. Hopefully that will be a wake up call to the players, to play four quarters.
  2. Do you think we will make the eight? If we dont beat Brisbane and ,the Gold Coast we will be in serious trouble. Its the good teams you have to beat to improve, defeating the two teams who will probably finish bottom 2 should be a given.
  3. The way we have looked so far this season,i would have to say we were a better balanced side last year. Losing Junior and Bruce 2 players who regularly got 25 possessions every week. Junior and Jordie two of the top tacklers in the League missing. (Jordie will come back) Midfield looks so slow, Moloney and Jones too simalar. We need to try something drastic like Grimes and Tapscott in the middle. They are wasted down back, maybe give Jones a back pocket role. Jamar doesnt look as good as last year either. we seem to lack speed and defensive pressure in the middle. When someone goes to kick out no ones leads to the ball, no one giving an option, crazy stuff. I predict we will finish around 10th or 11th, and will take a step back this year unfortunately.(Richmond and Essendon to go ahead of us).
  4. Joel has been showing some worrying signs : eg : panicking with the ball, taking too long to dispose of it and making poor decisions. I was actually surprised he was in the round one team after some of his pre season efforts. He cost us a few goals against the Swans. Rivers is in the leadership group so he is valued highly, and will probably get a few more chances before he gets dropped if ever. Long term id probably have Tom Mcdonald instead of Rivers and Cale Morton instead of Joel Macdonald
  5. 100% goer ala Grimes. Very much like a Paul Chapman, only tougher at the same age, and with a bigger kick. I reckon he will stay in the team all year, maybe only out for a rest.
  6. It was a stunning debut by the boy carved in granite! Must be a rising star chance this week.
  7. yes i would buy it,but prefer original
  8. Thta says it all,he has no idea.
  9. Grimes - Will show again he is our most consistent player Sylvia - Will get most of the ball in the middle Green - Never far away from the action, inspirational leader
  10. They are without Franklin and Hodge and still spanked us!
  11. He is an absoluote idiot of the highest order! Some say give him a chance etc. etc..How many F.......g chances does a guy get. He has been booted out of 2 clubs already. We must keep this guy away from our players!! Stuff Casey they are a bunch of fools. We have to let them know if they sign him it will only be a matter of time before the partnership alliance is over. He has had squillions of chances, but people seem to keep giving him more, why???? He is a bloody Goose!!
  12. Who would you take out? and for whom? As i explained in the post if we need extra height we can chuck Warnock in.
  13. I think to play and train is ok. But no socializing or after match functions for the Dees Players. They must also be told not to go out at night with Fevola. If Casey do this to us without any consultation then we have the right to pull our players back from any Casey functions or team bonding stuff. Just Train and play on the day thats it!
  14. I thought it would be a good time to have a crack at the team for round one after looking at preseason form and our latest injury list. Bartram Garland Macdonald Bail Rivers Grimes Davey Scully Green Trengove Watts Dunn Petterd Jurrah Maric Jamar Sylvia Moloney Jetta,Jones,Bennell Sub - Martin Emergency - Bate Cook Howe Im not sure about Warnock since his preseason was so poor, if we need another tall he could replace Macdonald or Bartram. Tapscott may need a few games at Casey but i liked the look of him last week. Also if one of the forwards dont come up ,might throw in a Cook or Howe ahead of Bate, unless he puts in a good one against Hawks this week. Evans unlucky as i thought he had a good preseason, but give him a few games at Casey to see more of him.
  15. We had a best team available against the bombers and were just as bad. They were without Watson, Hille, welsh, Brisbane had no Jonathon Brown. Its just the effort looks second rate.
  16. After viewing the last two games, against Essendon and Brisbane. I am dissapointed in the way we are looking so far. After the abysmal effort against the dons, i thought we would come out with a bit more intensity against Brisbane. After all we were playing the team most pundits back for the spoon this year. The main concern seemed to be our backline in total disarray. Brian Royal who has never coached a backline before is starting to worry me. The total lack of defensive pressure not only in the backline but all over the ground. Our onballers look short and slow. Our lack of skill, ( The amount of hospital handpasses i saw out there today was too many to count). Positives - Neville Jetta and Adam Maric should get a round one game, busted their asses all day and performed well. Tapscott looks real likely type and i can see him getting a regular game sooner rather than later. Jeremy Howe also looks a likely type up forward. Good to see Ricky back and firing. But its the backline that looks very ordinary and the middle where we were well beaten. Sure we will get better with Chip back. Scully was clean with his hands a real thinker. Jones and Moloney try hard but they are far from A graders.
  17. I think Garland is becoming increasingly important each season, we struggle without him really.
  18. I support him, but im not signing anything untill the end of the year.
  19. Hated the way channel 7 just reported it. All they had to say was that Scully has "refused to rule out going to GWS next year". Absolutley disgraceful journalism! Totally ignored the fact that he said he wanted to be a one club player and loves the place. Media scum!!
  20. What is it with these people, first Barrassi, now Sheahan? Melbourne supporters trying to sabotage their own club? This thing reeks!
  21. Im confident he will sign now. We have to keep our most talented core as a priority. Scully, Trenners,Grimes,Watts,Jurrah,Sylvia & Frawley
  22. The thing about Moloney is, that he gets his hands on the footy often enough , back lacks the smarts or any kind of pace to dispose of the ball properly often getting caught. If you watch him he roves the ball nicely but then tucks the ball under his arm stares at the ground and just trys to break a tackle. He does this alot , so he seems to back his strength, and not side step, or keep his head up and shoot out a quick handball ala Scully or even Jordan Gysberts in the few games he has played. He is a big kick of the ball and is probably better off pumping it into the forward line, as i doubt whther he can learn any new evasive tricks or gain pace at this stage.
  23. The thing for me is that the club came out and said we were serious and wanted to win it. The bombers had a half strength side in, and we picked our best available. The beat us comprehensively and we looked like weve gone backwards. We looked slow, and very poorly skilled in execution and decision making. Why on earth do we turn back into traffic when we are clear and should just kick the thing, only to get caught and turn it over. I fear the worst for this year and say we will not make the eight, and that teams like Carlton and Essendon will finish ahead of us easily. A long long way to go yet.
  24. We dont win enoough clean ball because moloney and Jones arnet quick enough they always get caught even though they can win the ball they lack smarts. Losing Junior and Bruce has only dropped our skill level. Untill we get games into Gysberts,Blease,Tapscott Scully, and they take over the midfield ,we wont make the eight with Moloney and Jones in the middle. Warnock and Macdonald were terrible down back too so we miss Frawley. Positives were Maric,Trengove, Jurrah. Most dissapointing were Jamar, Sylvia,Green,Davey.
