  1. Exactly, North wants to play us in Tassie because we draw stuff all at Docklands (did we even crack 15k against them last year?)
  2. Nah, that won't be a conflict of interest at all
  3. I mentioned it yesterday but not to blame Sparrow - he's one of my faves! It was more frustration that it occurred after a relatively straightforward skill error. But not vitriol at all so I hope no-one took it that way.
  4. If it's 5-6 weeks some unlucky bugger is gonna have to make way and miss out on a premiership
  5. First quarter and a bit - lazy, half arsed efforts by the whole team bar maybe one or two. Was extremely frustrating and North were playing with genuine intent. After that we pulled out fingers out, for the game on our terms and probably should've ended up with a 50 point win but for some inaccurate/wasteful ball use. Overall it was a good game, tough contest early but we won our easily in the end through hard work, class and maturity. But this game is tainted because of the injury to Petty, how bloody frustrating after the form he had shown last week and today - he was leading, marking and kicking well, everything you want from a key forward. Bloody annoying, let's hope he can get back this year but if not he and JVR will be a formidable duo up forward for the next 7-10 years.
  6. Why is it pointless? It's true. We were streaming downfield and then a regulation chip pass doesn't hit it's target, next thing we lose our key forward. I'm not blaming Sparrow but it's bloody frustrating after what was a frustrating first half with players going half arsed.
  7. Injured because of a terrible kick inside 50 that should've hit him on the chest 🤬
  8. One of our schedule requests should be to not play at [censored] grounds - Tas, Geelong, Ballarat, Cairns [censored] them all off
  9. JVR has been great competing in the ruck, his leap puts him in every contest
  10. How can they argue a "mistake" when Jones was subbed out with migraine but cleared of concussion? Is migraine not a symptom of conussion? What is in the SCAT5 test and what were Jones's results that led the doctor to think he had passed the test and was not concussed despite the migraine? These are the questions any journo with even a high school education would be asking.
  11. Not a truer word spoken. It's a farce the way the AFL is governed and the way the media let's them get away with it.
  12. I think they've traded out this year's draft picks so would have to be 2024 draft picks.
  13. Collingwood
  14. I want the AFL to demand an explanation as to how Jones passed the SCAT5 test but was subbed out with a migraine. That to me is a clear indication of their attempt to circumvent the protocols.
  15. Some might say it was more than disgraceful. Some might say it was negligent, plain and simple. Some might, I wouldn't 😉 I was annoyed watching On The Couch last night where they discussed a potential $50k fine with half suspended. That already happened, with Hartlett back in 2016. They were fined $20k with half suspended. Ok you might say that was 7 years ago but it was the same doctor (I presume as he has been at the club 25 years), same coach, same club - so they should be given the full whack on top of the 10k which was suspended back then. I don't think financial sanctions are sufficient - of course they won't penalise them points but must be something beyond financial sanction. They have traded their 1st rounder to North this year so draft sanctions may not work either. Not sure what else could be on the table.
  16. Nah, the AFL can fork out. Clubs are already reliant on AFL for funding anyway, take it out of the Executive's salaries.
  17. That was 50 years ago! Plenty of better examples you could cite, Carey/Longmire, Brereton/Dunstall, Lloyd/Lucas, Lynch/Brown, Franklin/Roughead Neitz/Schwarz!
  18. Pissweak especially considering their history https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-2022-zak-butters-tom-jonas-head-knock-concussion-debate-port-adelaide-power-v-richmond-tigers-reactions-response/news-story/23a757d27a58fe12e39d6a9ab5f040fa https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/jul/15/afl-fine-port-adelaide-20000-over-hartlett-concussion-incident Don't forget Rozee who never got looked at after his head collected Hunters hip earlier this year. Regardless of what you think of the decision to suspend Hunter, Rozee still should have been assessed. No doubt there's other incidents.
  19. It is the afls fault for leaving it in club doctors hands. They should have independent AFL appointed doctors at each game like in the NFL and NRL but I guess the AFL is too tight-fisted.
  20. This guy should've stuck to his guns, wimped out at the first sign of trouble 🤣
  21. I love and appreciate Max Gawn. Big Jim Stynes new what he was talking about when he predicted this guy would go on to great things.
  22. I think a lot of his good stuff goes under the radar as its a lot of running off the ball, pressure work, in close contested work whereas his bad stuff is glaring so it sticks out ie turnovers. He had a couple of turnovers early in the game which would have set most people's view for the rest of the game.
  23. And they've been watching Jack Riewoldt for 15 years!
  24. Saw one getting dragged out of AFL members by two cops, another screaming at the umps during the whole last quarter and his kid begging him to shut up - like I said earlier it was glorious ❤️💙
