  1. You'd never see comments like that from Melbourne supporters if we'd won half our games *cough* 2020 *cough*
  2. They lost to North at home a few weeks ago and Essendon a month or so before that. Geelong and Swans both absolutely belted them this year. Not to mention Collingwood last week. We generally play well in Perth in recent years besides the 2018 PF. I'll be pretty surprised and very annoyed if we drop this one.
  3. Anything more than a fine is an utter embarrassment for the AFL. I expect he'll get a week.
  4. "Thuggery" give me a spell Perhaps go and watch the under 12s this week instead, this is the pro's
  5. You've never seen a player get into a scuffle on the field and push their forearm/hand down onto someone's face? Come on, it might deserve a fine but people talking about multiple weeks and causing serious injury are kidding themselves I don't see it as dirty, gouging someones eye like Selwood did a few weeks back is dirty. Hitting someone when they're not looking is dirty. Stomping someone is dirty. Pushing someones face after they've pulled you down so you can't get on with the game is flirting with the rules and probably deserves a fine but the carry on here is like a knitting circle working themselves up into hysteria. I noticed it when it happened and pretty sure the umpire didn't even deem it worthy of a free kick. If people didn't already have a bee in their bonnet about Viney I'm sure it'd be nothing to see here. If May did this I guarantee the reaction would be much different.
  6. Why are people automatically writing us off for the round 23 game? I think it's a 50/50 game, not a certain win for the Cats. I think the narrow ground might actually suit our defensive structure, I'm looking forward to the game.
  7. This kind of stuff happens all the time. "Acceptable" as in we should encourage it? Or "acceptable" as in it deserves a fine at worst? I'd hate to see the outrage if one of our players actually did something malicious on the field. Supporters hate the club being seen as pushovers/spineless then are ready to hang a player the minute he shows a bit of mongrel. Back your players in FFS, the overreaction on this thread is appalling from so called "supporters".
  8. Oh come on. Forearm pushing someone down on the side of the face vs a cricket ball hitting you in the neck at 135km/hour This is getting ridiculous
  9. It's not end of story, the head and neck are completely different in the context of this incident. Pushing down on someones face is completely different to pushing down on their neck, neither of which has the potential to cause concussion I might add.
  10. Actually he was one of our best last week
  11. No, I wouldn't care and I think it's a bit hysterical to compare genuine knocks to the head with someone pushing down on someones face with their forearm.
  12. Dangerous? Please I'm sure the guy was so traumatised he went straight off the ground and into the rooms for medical assessment
  13. This league is a joke, the AFL should compensate us for wasting our time with this rubbish
  14. Jack Viney, Melbourne, has been charged with Serious Misconduct against Sam Collins, Gold Coast SUNS, during the fourth quarter of the Round 20 match between the Gold Coast SUNS and Melbourne played at Marvel Stadium on Sunday August 1, 2021. In summary, he has been referred directly to the Tribunal and cannot accept an early plea. Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Serious Misconduct. The incident was classified as a direct referral to the Tribunal and the player cannot accept an early plea.
  15. I see you're new to Demonland
  16. If Buddy gets off for elbowing a guy in the head surely this is a fine at worst
  17. Why would the govt care whether we're in pokies or not? The machines still exist, the govt still gets their tax money from their operation. Why would they care who runs them? Is it so they can feed more pokies machines into the hands of their donors?
  18. Bigger oval as in MCG size or Docklands size?
  19. That's exactly how you play bottom of the ladder sides. Keep the frenetic pressure up early and put some space between you before half time so they just drop their heads and you can cruise for the last quarter and a half. If they go into half time thinking they're a chance they will fight it out in the second half. Hopefully we've learnt and do the same to the Crows in 2 weeks.
  20. Great way to spend a relaxing Sunday arvo with a couple of beers on the couch, McKeon wins another gold and they Demons absolutely putting their foot down on an opponent. Bowey has been solid on debut Finish it off now Demons.
  21. From where? Perth? We're gonna be stuffed, travelling from Melb-Bris-Perth-Melb in 1 day!
  22. We might as well treat the next month as a preseason for finals. Doesn't matter where we finish, just get the squad through and prepare for a 4 week run in September.
  23. Or just bring WCE to Melbourne next week as well
