  1. I may be alone in my thinking here but one reason I feel that the club seems to also have continual media pile on and never ending speculation is that we fall into the 'sweet spot' for the media in terms of who we are. - As Trac has seemingly put it. We are not a big club. Therefore, as much as we get sick of all this going on, we do not have a big enough following to just complain enough to stop the talk and materially impact viewership/ratings etc. - We are small enough that if we did all boycott the Herald Sun/SEN etc, it wouldn't have anywhere near the impact of the pies of blues turning their back on them - We are relevant enough that all the news about us is interesting to other club supporters. If this was happening at the Roos or the Suns, there wouldn't be anywhere near the same level of interest, not enough would 'care' about it to keep it going - Lastly, the joy that people get in that the 'toffy dees' are copping it gives enough others delight to have them keep reading, this probably merges a bit with the above point Just my thoughts...
  2. You know, the more this goes on, the more it has me thinking that there could be some issues at the club.
  3. The way we are going, maybe we should be like other leagues and just get players on loan and not have anyone actuallly contracted to us!
  4. Easily 5-6 weeks and loss of first round draft picks
  5. Good win. Hey, did anyone know that Gold Coast were going for their 11th win of the year which would be their best year ever?? only heard that every few minutes for the whole game…
  6. Will be all fine. He and Oliver will both end up at Geelong with us paying their salaries somehow and giving them our first 2 draft picks.
  7. Would it be something to do with the Olympics and trying to start the game before the live stuff starts?
  8. Given how quickly we have fixed up the forward line, I expect the clearances to be sorted by some time mid 2028
  9. He will go to the cats for the vacant land they provide him, that, all luck to him and the other players, gets re-zoned for quite a windfall a little down the track...

Good that they keep working on their forward craft!
  11. It's a shame we can't loan Petty out like in the premier league so he could play us and get back into form. We are the competition kings at playing an out of form opponent into form!!
  12. Already on them. At least get something out of the night
  13. Looking at the Roos today, I think we start thinking about who we are going to get with pick 1
  14. This is exactly what I am expecting out of this year too! Gawn and Petracca (after fighting to get fit) both do their knees in the game and miss all of 2025
  15. Whilst I respect people's thoughts that winning a flag and top 4 in the previous 2 years should give Goodwin the right to stay and fix the problems, I am completely the other way. We lose the same way every single time, we have no forward line and I know this is a first world problem, but even when we have won in the last few years, I doubt many of us would have been happy and excited with the win. When we were rubbish, we were consistently belted by the top teams, when we became a top team, I had hoped that we would give back some of these beltings but we very rarely ever did. A good coach will implement a plan that hopefully gets the best out of his players, ours has instead gone away from a plan that was at least somewhat working over the last few years to something that our list simply cannot do. For those reasons I cannot give him a pass to right things, he has to go.
  16. We will kid ourselves. Goodwin will get his way and keep the team pretty much as is for the next year or so. We will then become completely uncompetitive, even more so than now and then Goodwin will walk away for ‘personal reasons’ and we will be at the bottom when tassie comes in, resulting in an even worse period in our history than the Neeld era
  17. Why do we worry about suggesting change? We all know that nothing will happen, Goodwin will end up getting an extension out of this
  18. Another issue we have is that since 2021, with our older players now having kids and being married and our coach now being single, their private lives aren’t on the same page hence the coach has lost the players. Who does Goodwin have to enjoy life with now??
  19. Screwed over by the fixturing again , we only had a 7 day break. Can’t be expected to keep backing up like that.
  20. Good fight back from the boys late
  21. The issue now is that Goodwin will stick with his nothing game plan which will get a few wins based more on individual brilliance. We will then really bottom out when the retirements kick in. Tassie will be coming in at this time and get all the draft picks and free agent talent leaving us to maintain our status quo of a few years back. Goodwin will then get the sack but it will be 7 years too late.
  22. Damn, that last goal may make it hard to get the win now, time is running out to come back.
  23. The positioning of our midfielders is all wrong. So many times they go to the feet of Gawn and are then easily pushed under the ball so that when a tap goes only 1 metre or more from Gawn, their opponent is then free to run off them and with most of them being very slow, they cannot catch or even lay a hand on them. Don’t even get me started with the forward line…
  24. We have gone downhill since our coach stopped partying with the players.
  25. Why even bother with goal umpires anymore if they are too scared to make a decision. Save the wages of them and spend it on better goal line technology.
