  1. There's nothing wrong with censoring the word 'g a y'. It's used by unintelligent dills to describe anything negative. It's used so indiscriminately, that I can completely understand it being censored. Not so sure about the term 'f l o g' though.
  2. IMO, it's certainly about both. Matchups don't take care of themselves. Our FD needs to identify suitable matchups and back up plans. If they do that and our blokes don't bring the Richmond/Adelaide intensity, then we won't get anywhere.
  3. Yeah, what is the point in getting Malceski for two or three seasons? We need to develop the blokes already on the list to play this role or trade in a younger bloke, or at least a guy in his mid 20s. We want them around for the premiership push.
  4. I haven't worked out if you're trolling yet. You seem kind of serious. Pity.
  5. This is always a good start. 'I'm not racist, but...', 'I'm not homophobic, but...' Ever been coached by Peta? If not, you couldn't possibly know and then what you're doing is simply making a gendered, sexist argument.
  6. Interesting. I'd heard (but not seen) that Tyson picked up the three votes in the Herald Sun. Can anyone confirm or deny this? If true, pretty good effort in a losing side.
  7. Sorry, I should have clarified. Port turned their midfield around quickly in terms of output, not necessarily drafting them all at once. I know injuries played a part for some of them, but their midfield was a joke in 2012. As was ours in 2013. IMO, the comparison is apt, but each to their own, I guess, PSD. : ) And I agree, M, pace should be on the shopping list. I think pace generally, not even just natural midfielders. It'd be great to have line breakers in the back half too. But, IMO, there are more pressing issues.
  8. I think we've got him already. His name's Hogan and he is currently more mobile and versitile than Patton. But I wouldn't say no to Patton though. I reckon he just needs to be given a role. Have guys like he Pederson, Dawes and Hogan hitting the centre square hard, as Saty mentioned in another thread. That'd scared the living [censored] out of opposition midfielders. Riccuito mentioned how intimidating it was having big blokes hit that area of the ground off the centre bounce and he was no softie. It just gives the opposition something more to think about. I genuinely believe Patton could play along side Hogan and Dawes, leaving Pederson as the swing man when required/depth/putting pressure on those guys to keep a minimum work rate. This is an interesting post, M, but when I think of how quickly Port built their midfield and how quickly we've turned things around in that department (okay, it's not A grade but is certainly on the cusp of B grade and will only get better), I wonder if the forwardline is actually the more pressing area. If a Patton or (dream world and unlikely) Cameron is available, we should push really hard for this type of player. We can always add that tall mid with break away pace down the track, when we're pushing for top 4, like Hawthorn did with Burgoyne. If we get to a stage of pushing for the top 4, we'll then be able to attract FA's of Burgoyne quality anyway. I'd probably be going with something like this as our shopping list: 1st rounder - KPF, if no luck, a 20-22 year old mid Treloar or Shiel's quality, or go to the draft. 2nd rounder - probably going to have to use on this pick on Stretch, otherwise I'd be going for a good ball user off half back from an opposition club. 3rd rounder - a fringe mid from a top 8 club. 4th rounder - another mid who has good disposal and could/can play at either end of the ground. And so on. That's the way I'd go anyway.
  9. It would have been a good post were it not for the first line. No one was knocking Pederson for the sake of it. That's just a troll of a post. He looked genuinely lost and spudtastic. He struggled to hold marks, contest and have any impact on a game whatsoever. The three year contract didn't help matters. I agree with the rest of your post though. It was clearly a mental thing for Pederson and giving him a clear and concise role has obviously got him playing great footy. Congratulations to Roosy, Stone and co and most importantly, Cam.
  10. Dawes has claimed that a combination of Neeld as coach, the idea of playing alongside Mitch Clark and playing a non-rucking forward role were the reasons he chose the MFC.
  11. It's really just Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton and to a lesser extent Richmond that seem to refuse to deliver a proper alternative. I'm not that tied to our jumper, TBH. I'm much more tied to the MFC logo in its incarnation on our Saturday jumper - also see PSD's avatar. It's a much stronger image than Carlton's CFC, IMO.
  12. BTW, did anyone see Robinson dig a hole for himself on AFL360 last night? He managed to kinda get out of it, but not really. Such a bogan [censored]. The most inarticulate journalist in the game. EDIT. Why is f l o g censored?
  13. Trailblazer. I love it. Very interesting that the club known for rape and mistreatment of women is the first one to appoint a woman onto their coaching staff.
  14. I'd replace the footy with the trident and then remove the footy and southern cross altogether.
  15. Yeah, I think those that were looking for it, felt he gave that impression, but that wasn't necessarily Jack's fault. I'm sure we are more drilled now though in the media.
  16. Couldn't disagree with this point more. Watts has always handled himself well in the media, not so well tonight, but he certainly didn't say anything stupid. Just lots of ums and ahs.
  17. I literally don't know of a GWS supporter. I don't live in Sydney though, so perhaps there are 5,000 up there.
  18. Confidence and clear expectations have undoubtedly helped Pederson. He's becoming one of our most important role players. He straightens us up and gives us flexibility as second ruck.
  19. He seemed a little nervous tonight. Anyway, hopefully he sticks it up Collingwood this week and kicks a couple like he did against Carlton and Richmond. If he works as hard as he did against Richmond, I reckon he'll snag a few.
  20. Yep, Grimes does put his body on the line. No one's saying he doesn't. I'm certainly not. Well, we can agree that he needs to improve.
  21. Well, I'm pretty sure it won't be.
  22. That doesn't mean it wasn't a messy brief though. If you're talking about the Real deal, that was nipped in the bud. He signed another contract extension during the season, so he won't leave. At least not this off season. Obviously, I respect those that were there before, like yourself, but hate those bandwagoners who jump between United, City or Chel$ea. We were all out attack, no defence this season. That lost it. I think Rodgers knew that, so simply played to try and wipe Chel$ea off the park. It probably would have been a draw had Gerrard not slipped though. Watching United fall this season was hilarious. Hopes it keeps going. Admirable effort though, certainly. Emblem, derpie derp.
  23. I think they'll be sought, but aren't as high on the list as some other types. A bloke like Salem has already shown his danger at ground level.
