  1. I reckon it will depend on who's available, but I'd say PR will want to get another one or two really good players in that 22-24 age bracket.
  2. It should be about slow incremental improvement across the journey from here on out. We'll still have our bad weeks though. Particularly, with a number of youngsters playing in our 22. I think we can beat anyone outside of the top 5 or so teams in the league if we turn up to play. That's a good start and from where we're coming, within a season and a half under PR, that's a damn near miracle.
  3. I reckon Bernie's first three or four games for us were high 30 possession games.
  4. Spot on, R. It was always going to be about quick ball movement, whether we could create a contest inside 50 and whether we could stop their run off half back.
  5. That's the thing. Add someone like Prestia (who would be far more likely to view MFC as a viable destination come the end of the season) to Jones, Vince, Tyson, Viney, Brayshaw, Petracca and Salem. We are building something here. It won't be immediately obvious to the rest of the competition, but in two or three years time, Tyson, Viney, Brayshaw, Petracca and Salem will have played their 50-60 games and we'll really start to see them dominate other midfields. If Max and Jake can keep improving, we can then start to really add some depth to our squad. Then you've got a bloke called Jesse Hogan up forward. Seriously, we could have a couple of A graders on our hands for the first time in my 27 years.
  6. Just listened to his interview with SOS on the MFC website. Bloody hell. He speaks like a champ. A really good presenter. He and SOS both do actually. Really good heads on their shoulders, I reckon. Can't wait to see Petracca enter this mix and then whoever we pick up at the end of this year too. That's the thing. 7. That's what good sides start to develop though. The unfortunate outs. More of it, please. Agree on just about all that. Dawes played as good as game as he did against Adelaide last year. He didn't hit the scoreboard, but he showed leadership in spades today. He was a real general up forward. He also took two great contested marks. It set the tone. Really happy with both Spencer and Gawn's games. IMO, we won the game in the middle. Dunn was brilliant and our team defence was fantastic, but it was won in the middle of the ground. No Jonesy? Wow. Talk about stiff. I really wanted too. My camera phone is rubbish though. Only got one of the wider ground. We were in row 1 and still not closer enough to get it. Horrible viewing ground that place. And I want Roos to head up our academy. I hope PJ is already talking to him about this/has talked to him about it. Awesome. Bit like the game in Adelaide last year.
  8. Love him. Only needs 5 or 6 kicks and he either kicks goals or sets them up. Really enjoying his goals out the back this year too.
  9. What is so impressive about ANB is his game sense. He knows where the goals are and he knows when to get it on the boot. He's going to be a beauty, I think.
  10. Cripps was pretty damn good yesterday. It's a rubbish award that means very little. Happy to have Gus keep incrementally improving without that spotlight, although I'm sure he'd have no problems dealing with it. Already probably my favourite player.
  11. Gave a very subdued thumbs up to us at the race too when we were singing his praises as they left the field. Love him. Want him to keep coaching us past 2016. One of the best days I can remember at the footy. And I go just about every week. And now I've reached my daily quota for likes.
  12. My old man and I were talking about this as we were leaving the ground. That combo works against a slow side, which Geelong are these days. That doesn't work against a GWS. Still, whacko that it worked today.
  13. It wasn't as evident at the ground for me, but watching the replay before, Dunn's game was massive. I'd say just about his best game for the club. We didn't have any passengers today. Everyone played their role and we minimised the stupid little errors that had been creeping into our game over the last couple of weeks. That is the benchmark, Melbourne. That is the benchmark. You do that every week and we'll make the 8 next year.
  14. Russell and Healy. Could you get two commentators that hate the MFC more doing a game together? That would have been painful to listen to.
  15. Geelong have the feeling of a club that are going to try and live off past glories for the next few years. Sound familiar? Brian Cook is gone. Bomber Thompson is gone. A lot of their stars have gone. They're going down and I'm gonna love it.
  16. Which arrogant [censored] of a Geelong player was it who pretended to fall asleep during their team song a few years back? That was Enright, wasn't it? Pretty sure it was. He's won three premierships. No sympathy for him at all. And if he was the bloke that did that years ago, that's a little bit of footy karma.
  17. Roosy totally outcoached Scott this week and what a time to do it. He and Clarkson are still the best two coaches in the league. We're very lucky to have him.
  18. Viney played his best game ever today. Easily. But Vince was still better. And Jones was brilliant, having started off slowly (poor disposal efficiency early on). Then there's Brayshaw's game. My god. So excited by our midfield group at the moment. Imagine if Tyson really starts to find some form. Gawn makes such a difference to this group. Even Spencer too. In answer to the OP, I'd say Bernie is our most important player at the moment. He proved it today. The game is won in the midfield. Hogan is going to be the forward of his generation, but right now, Bernie is our best.
  19. Am watching the taped telecast now. Hate Russell with a passion. Looking forward to listening to him in the last quarter. Glad I was at the game and didn't have to listen to the [censored].
  20. Watts was really good again today. Makes the right decisions and rarely misses targets. And his physicality is improving.
  21. Just high fived Gus Brayshaw and Nev Jetta. Pretty happy with that. Go you bloody redlegs. Made us proud today.
  22. On the way down now. I was at 186, can't see it being that bad. We just have to make it an arm wrestle. If we can restrict them to 10 goals, we're a slim chance. They'll have too much class for us though. Gotta hurt Selwood early.
