  1. "The most non threatening 5-0 team we will ever face." lol they pretty much were gifted a 5-0 start to 2017. a little success has truly made this bunch insufferable.
  2. Richmond has beaten Carlton, Hawthorn and St Kilda. The average ladder position of teams they've beaten is 14th. Ours is 11th. Geelong and Saints both in the top 8 when we beat them. Tigers have played well once this season and everyone is talking about them ... they beat up an injury ravage St Kilda that was on a 5-day break. And yet we're the team that "hasn't beaten anyone yet". Let's not forget Richmond's 5-0 start to the year in 2017... Not to understate them as a team because I think they're great, but seriously, I am very much looking forward to beating them comfortably on Saturday.
  3. Got in after 15 minutes. Tickets sorted!
  4. Currently waiting in queue for AFL members. Logged on at 9:45.
  5. I imagine AFL members will be a [censored] show tomorrow given Richmond has a large AFL members fanbase. Predicting I'll be bumped up to level 4. Good news is that even with both clubs' accumulative AFL members numbers, a seat is guaranteed for members with Melbourne or Richmond club support given they don't make up the total number of tickets available. You would think AFL members will fill up though with neutral supporters (and Melbourne/Rich supporters borrowing memberships from friends).
  6. yes. if he were a poor man's simon godfrey then he'd be worse that godfrey. i meant in the sense that both were hard workers that didn't *appear* to have much impact, godfrey often undid his work with his disposal whereas spargo tends to have impact that is better reflective of his work rate. thus, he is a rich man's simon godfrey.
  7. if we beat richmond we'll likely go into $6 and I suspect these will be the best odds you'll get provided there isn't a massive drop in form and we lose like 8 in a row.
  8. we were never going to lose that. we've never really looked threatened this year in any of our games. in past years we lose to freo, gws, and geelong. we're going to get belted a few times and will lose a few games but this team is the real deal. people need to accept that some loses will come but it ain't the end of the world.
  9. People need to watch Spargo closely. His challenge in the air against opponents almost always twice his size cannot be understated. He works so hard. And when he does get the ball he uses it well. He may not be the future but he plays a role that is above and beyond his capability and he does it well. Big test against for him against the Tigers. But he is a rich man's Simon Godfrey.
  10. technically it was Hibberd for May, and Fritsch for Petty. but i see your point
  11. if you add a $0 junior ticket for every adult ticket you're getting, it should go through.
  12. i assume you never leave your house? even if the virus were rampant in the state the chances of you getting it outdoors in a stadium are minuscule.
  13. tickets aren't on sale for Anzac Eve yet.

    AFL website

From a UX perspective it is awful: like most pro league websites I go there first and foremost for three things: scores, fixturing, and tickets. All three should be immediately accessible with one click from the homepage. They aren't. The site prioritises editorial and video content rather than fulfilling its obligation. It *works* fine but the customer journey is terrible.
  15. Fox Footy commentators probably would have called it the same way (ie. a rogue elbow). On FTA you're going to get hyperbolic language because it's prime time. They want to rile people up and get people talking.
  16. This will be won and lost in coaches box.
  17. We'll bury them. 8+ goals. Bookmark it.
  18. Yes, I worked it out 20 years ago. Online ticketing has been a thing for 20 years. I bought tickets to Eminem at Rod Laver Arena (then Melbourne Park) in 2002 as a 16 year old, online via a website that today wouldn't even be compatible on current browsers. How old was your mother in law 20 years ago? Surely young enough to be across contemporary technology? My wife's 78 year old grandfather runs an ecommerce Amazon shop from regional France, selling bicycle parts. He also blogs weekly and video chats with us frequently. He is self taught. This is not generational. It's individual. It is no secret that certain cross sections of particular demongraphics are unwilling to embrace technology and now it's too late for them. I don't mean to be so condescending but we are not talking about new, revolutionary, innovative technology here. It is not rocket science. This is not a matter of being "tech savvy". It's such a horse [censored] term. It's more a matter of being unwilling to adapt, because technology that exists today is mostly tech that has existed for 2 decades, having merely evolved and improved. It's like when someone says "I don't know how to use an iphone". What you're saying is that over the past 15 years you have been completely and utterly oblivious to the world around you. The same is with buying tickets on a website. It is not new. If you can't do it in 2021 then I seriously wonder how the hell they've survived for the past decade. And if they live beyond the next decade, then I truly worry about their wellbeing. Because we are very quickly moving into a digital-only landscape. It will happen. If you can't buy tickets on a website in 2021 then you have little hope. i could understand someone in 2002 struggling. But in 2021? You've had 20 years to start paying attention.
  19. I'm 34. But that's beside the point. It is no different for finals. How do older members get tickets for finals? Do they send in a mail order form? There's also ticketek vendors that can do the ticketting for you. If anyone regardless of age seriously expected to just be able to stroll up and find a seat on game day in the midst of a pandemic well then I'm sorry but anyone that dense probably deserves to get the short end of the ticketing stick. Ticketek really ain't a complex system.
  20. I pay $600+ per year for AFL membership and also don't get to pick my tickets. I'm also cut off from certain sections of the Members area and can't stand to watch the game behind the glass window in the comfort of the members bar if I so choose. And yet I am endlessly happy that I can attend games at all. NBA games are mostly still played without crowds. EPL fans haven't watched their teams play in almost 2 years. There's a chance the Champions League final will be played behind closed doors. We are envied by sports fans across the globe for simply being able to attend a sports event (let alone go to bars, restaurants etc.) Seeing people complain about a process as simple as putting a barcode in is becoming quite tiring. You can't get your reserved seat, I know, it's tough. But you've got a seat. Everyone needs to calm tf and enjoy the damn football. I've not once had an issue getting tickets. The times and availabilities are clearly outlined for all to see.
  21. we're also entitled to free movement but the government can put a stop to that on the back of a single case. i feel their plight but we're essentially hostage now to these returning travellers.
  22. Yeah I don't think the build up is what lost us that game. We were just an awful team.
