  1. from the time of your post, or right now?
  2. dees supporters outnumbering Norf 10:1 so far.
  3. Rubbish. 10 rounds in we were 7-3, had scored 100 more points and conceded 100 fewer points. That's including beltings against Hawthorn and Richmond. They are definitely similar to our 2018 but suggesting they are already better isn't accurate. They're good but not better.
  4. Can see Carlton beating us this season but confident we'll do away with them in finals. They remind me more of Melbourne 2018 than Bulldogs 2021. But they are so good in the air. Just don't think they're ready. They give up leads way too easy. But that can be fixed throughout the season. Just can't quite convince myself they're good yet. Even still they might pull a Richmond 2017. They are definitely playing better across 10 rounds than Richmond did in the first 10 rounds of 2017. Could have be a Hawthorn 2008 moment. Melbourne is still recovering from three Richmond flags. Not sure the city can handle a Carlton flag. Truly a scary proposition.
  5. We lost a lot of games that year we shouldn't have. Adelaide at the MCG comes to mind. They had been belted by 100+ points a few times over the past few weeks and we went in as hot favourites. In true 90s Melbourne fashion we choked. Also lost a bunch of close games in the first few rounds after leading all game. North and Essendon early on. Led both at the last change and then got run over. We were also leading Carlton for most of the day but then got steamrolled and lost by 7 goals. Happened a few times throughout the year. Brisbane were undoubtedly more deserving of the final spot in the 8. Carlton would have absolutely destroyed us if we'd made it in. We were massive pushovers in 95 and 96
  6. Seriously guys. We're likely going to win by 70-80 points. Did we really expect a 150 point win? Good on the Eagles for actually making an effort. This Eagles team would absolutely smash 2013 Melbourne by 10+ goals.
  7. Would be good to score 100 points for once.
  8. 2.5 to 2.4 since quarter time. Horrid.
  9. May and Petty are hard body defenders. Which leads to 1-2 goals a game from weak free kicks. Kennedy will bank a few from that alone.
  10. I'd much rather play top 8 teams twice tbh. Playing Geelong and Bulldogs twice last year, with games against both deep in the season, definitely helped get us ready for finals.
  11. Yep. It's not like he just had COVID or anything.
  12. 1pm is the dumbest timeslot for a Sunday let alone Mother's Day. Put it an hour later and I reckon it cracks 40k.
  13. They dominated to only outscore us by 7 points. That was great by us to stem their drive.
  14. He was in front and had position. Misjudged. Langdon was at fault and he knew it. He should have contested.
  15. Saints supporters around me booing. It was touched you bellends. Anyway, Saints will go on their run and kick a few goals in a row. But they're playing like they're at Marvel. Long and direct to King. We are gobbling it up.
  16. Traffic is diabolical. Good luck to anyone getting there on time if you're not already in the city.
  17. You still had lingering remnants of the Daniher era. Bailey was an egg shell, didn't hold the players accountable which was evident in how volatile the performances were. Neeld came in and gave a rocket to the likes of Green, Rivers, Davey, Garland, players that simply didn't play like we needed them to play at that point in their careers. He basically lost those Daniher era players, they had the lockerroom presence and thus the playing group was lost. It's no surprise that Viney, in his second game, was the only one prepared to speak up. How embarrassing that must have been for veteran players, to have a 2 gamer giving you a rocket. Neeld was a bad coach but he had the right ideas. He needed to drill in standards and hold the team accountable.
  18. Simply mate. The scrutiny those clubs face after a few years down is enough to preempt decisions to avoid long "rebuilds". Melbourne and North both avoid that internal and external scrutiny. It took the AFL getting involved with Melbourne for things to turn around. Same will happen to North. Even if that means moving to Tassie.
  19. I think the players actually like Noble. Neeld was pretty obviously disliked and no one seemed to play *for him*. North simply aren't up to it and don't have the cattle.
  20. 1. Goodwin 2. Roos 3. Daniher 4. Balme 5. Bailey Was too young to remember the Northy teams. Only memory I have from when he coached was when we lost to Essendon in 1992 after being like 50 points up at the start of the last quarter. Probably my earliest football memory. I remember it because the Melbourne supporters around me were in hysterics. Evidently so too were the Essendon supporters. I remember as a 6 year old feeling very overwhelmed by it all.
  21. haha well we can tick off two of those boxes... But to my point, just a few things specific to AFL Members: 1. Food and beveridge options are pitiful. I literally leave the AFL Members to walk through to GA or the Ponsford stand to get food and drinks. 2. The entire place is in need of a mass upgrade. I pay almost $700 a year for a sports bar with broken TV screens and poor, fuzzy reception; broken seats; and a "fine dining" area about as "fine" board of wood with nails sticking out of it. 3. The speakers are so bad I seriously wonder if they've just ripped them out of a Nintendo GameBoy and stuck them on the wall. 4. Getting in and out has somehow gotten worse despite the logistics remaining the same. 5. There's fewer security and more [censored]. 6. There's fewer people than ever sitting in AFL Members, meaning the atmosphere is [censored]. I honestly think the AFL has given up on it all together.
