  1. He gets easy possessions and lets teams waltz it down the wing. He is unaccountable. Badly needs to improve his defensive game.
  2. I think a lot of people are missing something about games like today. Watching it very close to ground level in AFL Members, the Hawks pressure and spread in the second half was intense. We still won by 10 goals. In literally any other decade, a 10+ goal win is a "belting". We belted Hawthorn today. They gave it their all. At their best, we are still a 10 goal better team. Which is as it should be between top 4 and bottom 4. No one team at their best is 100 points better than any other team at their best. It's an anomaly. If people think a 10 goal win is "uninspiring", then I'm scared for the league for when we are 100% switched on. I have two key take aways from today and they're not even team based, they're player based: 1. Hibberd oozes professional and football smarts. He and May in the same backline is key to us winning a flag. Lever, Rivers, soon Salem, McVee, Bowey are all intercept and zone players. Hibberd and May are our 1-on-1 lockdown defenders. It's so good having Hibberd back and playing well. The definition of "experience down back". 2. Langdon is beyond simply being "down on form". I watched him closely today. He is unaccountable, points fingers a lot, avoids tackles.. teams are targeting his space and exploiting it. He is a liability against good teams. Going to be a very interesting month for him to see how he performs.
  3. "Professional Finger Pointer"
  4. Another 10 goal win game against a team that absolutely bashes us into the ground. Teams are absolutely throwing everything at us and we're still winning by 10 goals. It looks uninspiring but these are hard fought wins Now to do it against decent oppositon. Freo, Port, Carlton, Collingwood to come.
  5. Lucky to have been outscored by 10. Thank [censored] for Rivers, May, Lever, Hunter, Judd and Jordon in the latter half of that quarter
  6. Hawks are doing their best to keep this under 100 points. 10+ goal win today would be good.
  7. This is the impact Paul Roos has had on the game. When he came to Melbourne it was all about deficit minimisation. Mitchell is very good at it. And if they steal a win then great. Otherwise it's follow the process, forget the scoreboard. Hawks playing with pride. But this should be at least a 10 goal win. Anything less than 60 points is a win for Hawthorn's development. That's how they see it. Hawks have huge Melbourne 2014-2015 vibes about them atm.
  8. Hate to find a negative in this but Langdon is unaccountable and useless.
  9. Foot to the throat. We are so far on top of them they're taking the [censored].
  10. I can't tellnif the umpiring is average or good. Letting a lot go.
  11. lots of free tickets given away
  12. decent crowd building.
  13. It had good vibes in the late 80s and early 90s. Finals there had a different feel than the MCG. But once the Southern Stand was rebuilt, Waverley seemed to age at lightning speed. Just wasn't up to speed. But you could tell that it was built "for footy". Some good memories there too. I was too young to remember the late 80s much but fondly remember the 94 win against the Pies by 5 points. A Collingwood goal was disallowed just as the halftime siren went. Pies fans were livid at the end of the game. And of course there's Farmer's goal in 98 vs Hawthorn. Always fondly remember Jakovich's performance against Hawthorn there in 94. Absolutely dominated but ended up with 4 goals 10 behinds. Quintessential Jakovich performance lol
  14. Bed time.
  15. They're recapping the entire hearing. Good, because it's not like it LITERALLY JUST HAPPENED or anything.
  16. Perfect scenario for a Hawks dud to pop up and kick 6.0 and to give up 20 marks inside 50.
  17. Feel like we're due for a shock loss against a bottom team. Hawthorn always seems to come to play against us. Teams like Carlton underperform. Hawthorn always performs exactly as you'd expect. They're getting Bruest back and their midfield is doing okay. Should be at least a 7-8 goal win.
  18. That is the most early 2000s thing I've seen in some time.
  19. They're okay. What's annoying is that teams fall into their traps soooopp easilyyyyy. Our second game against them being a prime example. They have 2-3 floaters in space across their defensive 50. They then go forward to an empty forward line with space. Sydney tried today to put their backline under pressure with quick and fast movement. Brisbane put the foot to the throat. Collingwood is very good at sucking teams into kicking it straight down their throats. They love the corridor and basically don't have to contend with backlines because their forwards essentially play as utilities. It's like the triangle offense but for footy. I am really looking forward to playing them.
  20. I have never wanted to play a team more than Collingwood. I wish we were playing them this week. This need a good old fashioned belting.
  21. I had a scarf from 92 that I wore for close to 20 years until 2009 when it was lost in a move, likely thrown out erroneously. I've been wearing my 2010 scarf since. IMO it's the best of the "membership" scarves. Simple design, thick, and long.
  22. The only way to beat both Melbourne and Collingwood is to just bury them from the first bounce. Close contests and they're just too good with too much polish. Surely if both teams are 1st and 2nd come King's Birthday we get 90k+?
  23. Gawn - There when needed Petracca - Some important touches Oliver - Tough but tagged Rivers - Our best driver Petty - Better down back van Rooyen - Great aerial presence Fritsch - Record is over Bowie - Provided good run Turner - Not quite ready McVee - Clean and reliable May - Improved with time Lever - Some late relevance Grundy - No real impact Langdon - Can't get involved Pickett - Hits when needed Sparrow - Career best game Viney - Lifted in last Chandler - Smooth but ineffective Harmes - Brought great energy Brayshaw - Classic Brayshaw's Back Jordon - He's just "there" Hunter - In slow motion
  24. I thought that was a great contest and win.
  25. How the [censored] did they get that.
