  1. This isn't the positive you think it is. We keep "dominating" and yet we lose close game after close game. GWS shouldn't have been close today based on "stats" but reality is that it was a game between two teams battling for a top 8 spot. We finished second off the back of a 10-0 start. We finished the season 6-8 including two finals losses. Overall we've gone 15-14 since Round 11 last year which is good enough to the equivalent of a 12 win season. That's *maybe* a top 8 finish. Collingwood has been playing without multiple top 22 players for most of the past 12 months. But structurally they barely change because the fundamentals and endeavour remains. And it is impeccable. Our performance is glossed over by a huge gap between the teams in 1st-3rd and 4th-12th. We're at the top end of a very large bracket of teams but very far off the top. Yes we beat Collingwood but they also beat us in 2021 when we won the flag and finished first and they finished second last. You need to look holistically now because there is an ongoing trend that people simply refuse to acknowledge. I don't understand it.
  2. It's strategic. Statistically we win the ball but strategically there is no gameplan. We're taking set shots from pockets. We have no crumbing goals. Every single kick is under pressure because the preceding kick is a "kick and hope" to a contest of like 10 players. Outside of the perfect clearance and transition, we play with no structure or gameplan forward of centre. What is the actual gameplan?
  3. Rivers was good. Probably spot on everywhere else.
  4. You just know it'll happen.
  5. Is that a Premiership Metric©️
  6. This is 100% a coaching and strategy issue. Bringing in Brown and Harmes was applauded on this forum. I just can't fathom it. Naturally, JVR killed it at Casey. I really wish we'd stop with this trying to recapture 2021 form BS. We need to move on otherwise we're going to get caught out and the wheels will fall off. We lost today at the selection table and in the coach's box.
  7. Of course he missed it lol
  8. That's game.
  9. Melbourne gets behinds where teams like Geelong and Collingwood kick post high through the middle.
  10. The fumbles....
  11. Next goal wins.
  12. Note the space GWS has when they go forward vs what we have. Very lucky if we win this.
  13. GWS wins this imo. It's just too hard for us.
  14. thems some tasty PREMIERSHIP METRICS.
  15. This is a genuine battle between 2 sides battling for top 8.
  16. it's loading.
  17. ALL GOOD EVERYONE. LOADING. PREMIERSHIP METRICS.
  18. He's waiting to come back after we finish them off with a 15 goal to 2 goal second half.
  19. If I had wheels, I'd be a bike.
  20. Given that, our dominance going forward, and just general control of play, we are entering Carlton territory of performance at the moment. Let's not forget that over the past 12 months we're a slightly better than 50% win team. How relevant are our "premiership metrics" after that half?
  21. Yep. Langdon couldn't even score with a checkside directly in front under no pressure. This is awful football.
  22. People will defend this because of the conditions. Giants are doing exactly what literally every team that beats us does. It's such an easy strategy.
  23. Grundy and Gawn in the same team is peak Shaq and Karl Malone in the same team vibes.
  24. Pickett is quickly turning into Wish.com Cyril.
  25. He's not suited to small ground. Loves a long running goal or long forward entry.
