Well Hogan wasn't any good when locked in under the long bomb... Jesse needed to roam in space. Preuss will be very good for, 'deeFlea' department. .

Farewell Jesse Hogan
WoW. I should have read the whole thread first, before posting. I really hope Jesse will be 'OK', moving forward.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I agree SWYL. I sense something is missing, lacking in his spirit ??? The ciggy's are another clue. ??? imo . It could be, another who hates the big city life... and just wants to be around a camp fire with mates, and a few beers, laughs and good times.

We're also victims of being the illegitimate son of the Mcc... so just on child support all our lives, and left out of the Will. Maybe we should all be getting about in flannels. .

Casey Demons: 2019
I think Bradtke has to ruck to learn his craft quickly and rest forward accept when Preuss plays at casey. I think Preuss will play at least 50% in the AFL. But not every match, as i reckon we will drop Gawn down on games per season. and on %time on the ball. I think we will manage Gawnus, trying to lengthen his career, whilst managing his loads. If either got injured... max or preussy, then we will be needing dee-bradt to learn early season... as much as he can, to cover this scenario. I would fast track Bradtke for the first 2 months of the VFL season then ease him off playing more time up forward after that. Let him run on the ball early... which is a closer thing to basketball, than being stuck leading from the goal square with some one punching him in the back of head all the time.

Actually, might be worth a try NC... if that were to happen to Nev. I think Nev is our hardest to replace.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM SPARROW
You really do not pay much attention to detail, do you... and you cannot see his over-condition for elite AFL... and lack of being 'cut', over most of his exposed body. OK, your right, experience says not to indulge others in argument, who cannot see. So, like you, I won't. .

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM SPARROW
He looks to have a nice step at speed, to go with his pace of the mark. I hope he works on his hands dexterity... to aid the ball drop. He looks like he maybe helicoptered a couple, close to goal, when rushing.? ... geez he's quick in mind to be ready for the on-comer. good mental planning. I, I, I, I'm .............. .

I was suggesting 'Dawn' up til now. And having just read your post DC, I came up with another, along the lines of 'Dawn'... So... Sparra's > fart = Dawn.... >>> cracka' Dawn... >>> crack'a. .

He had the elite fitness base required from the hard work he's done. Found him his niche spot, and he flourished and grew, outa-sight.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM SPARROW
I've seen him switch off and stop thinking, and so not getting reinvolved in the same play. Sits back seemingly pleased with what he just did. He does not cover enough ground at pace, during games And I am one of the first to say he has too much weight on, (puppy fat) to develop the elite fitness to do the midfield things of 2018+ footy. So I suggest your post is overly presumptive, possibly disrespectful, and ill founded to boot. Seeing,,, is believing... and a 6pack on the stomach is not proof of elite fitness. sadly only reflective of stomach exercises. Being cut in the limbs, upper legs and arms, is probably more of an indication of low body fat index. He simply does not work hard enough to become elite. to this point. I'll back in 'Dawn', to be better than Tracca... and maybe surpass him in the team, by mid 2020. The way Christian is tracking so far in his years with us, he will get overtaken by younger guys, who play 100%_ I don't want to see him waste away. He has to get a move on. .

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM SPARROW
Yes, that's what I'm getting at. That these 3 are the closest to "spanish-looking hombre`s", we have... and all 3 hombre`s, need to lift, lift, lift. The best of the 3 IMO so far, is ANB, but he need to improve his composure with ball in hand. Petracca obviously after him. He really has to become a consistent worker, and be involved constantly... rather than disappearing and becoming merely a spectator after an involvement... and he feels somehow he's done enough in that passage. too easily self satisfied.! Now Stretch, a bit maligned for not having arrived, so to speak... he started to show something in 2018, before he was cut-down. It's his time NOW... and he has to ensure he plays his part this year. Or he will be overtaken by hungry newbies, snapping at the feet in-front of them. So I put these 3 hombre`s in a jocular type thread, because they are yet to be taken as 'serious threats', in the real AFL world. And IF we are to go far in this years premiership race, we will require the 3 of them to really fire up.

Add Stretch for 2019. and we have 3 young Hombre`s in the middle, to add to our older hard nuts, + Clarry... Dee 3 Amigo's. Lets see how they shape up, after they're 2018 season. ?

As far as depth goes. I think we are not covered so well if Jetta gets injured. I think he is key for our setup. Allowing others some freedom.

Goodwin signs on until end of 2022
I believe Goody is currently contracted until the end of next season, (2019). I reckon we'll extend the contract by 3 Yrs... taking his contract out to the end of (2022) season.

He's the right man for us, at this right time. Things may one day change, but right now things are going along well. 3 or 4 Yrs I reckon.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
The point is... to stand tall, you have to one day step out of the shadow your in. We have never done that and in the 50's it didn't matter so much, as we had the MCG to ourselves Re footy... & fire brimstone coaches who knew what they were about. But the world started changing, players got payed more, and political correctness started to become a thing, and a sort of war against the old world ways started simmering. Educated people/admins were becoming precious and scheming. and more vindictive. The world changed, just as it did in the politics we see today around the world. We, have never stood up... and so we have reaped just what we sowed... very little. Whilst other clubs risked all... put it all on the line, gambled and Won, and Lost some times, but all the while, their clubs grew. they recovered their losses, and grew again. I want to say just one thing about this... "Nothing Ventured".... Let's fight for OUR In-deependance. .

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
No !!! We don't want apron strings. Or we will never grow up as a club. We can stand side by side... as equals with the Mcc. But definately not with apron strings. Or we will always be the illegitimate son. And our fears will always be cast in stone, just as Peter-Pan always remained as he ever was. We have to make the change to become an Elder of the building........ just like the Pies are, and the Tigers are, and the Bummers are. This is an attitudinal thing of independence. Maybe like when young Murdoch broke away from his dad Rupert, and returned home to Australia with his wife, years back. Now young Murdoch is creating his own way in the wide world. He's not a boy under his dads spell any longer. He IS his own master. This is what Melbourne has to become, so it can make the big decisions at board level... and why our boards of the past have failed us all. Because the club in the past didn't have the balls... and so neither did its boards. A lack of courage & commitment. due to having been 'treated' by a Sugar-Daddy. We go forward as equal partners with the Mcc... or we won't go forward, at all. .

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
This club has to lose its fear of having a go. Most millionaires have gone broke at some time in their lives. Big businesses get government's to bend for them, so they can prosper. Yet the Mfc quiver when it comes to big money & being entrepreneurial. If we can't find a Sugar-Daddy or some Benneyfactor... we wither away in the dark corner of the party. This has to change... or we stay just as we've been the past 50 Yrs. If we had a different nature as a club, it would be us in the old Olympic Swimming Centre... instead of Ol Fatface Ed & his lot. . We have only our own conservative small Inward Thinking for this weak culture of NoN-Progress... for the past half century, and being tied to the Mcc apron strings for so long, like an illegitimate child, is what caused this Club Impotence. We've been fortunate that the AFL came a running this time to our Aid and bailed us out with PJ and Roosy, & to a degree, Goody as well. Our Home Base is the most important thing, to build our own Independent Identity... away from & out of the shadow of the Mcc. Cut the Apron-Strings, and stand Tall, Proud & Independent.
