  1. The GABBA is a flat track. And you know what they say about those who play on flat tracks all the time...
  2. I agree. Hardwick or Buckley are the only true options for Gold Coast in my opinion. If poor old Yze went there he'd be chewed up and spat out.
  3. Essendon with both Lenny Hayes and Aaron Lord playing off their half back line. Playing out of position, but good to see they're both still running around after all these years.
  4. If we dig up some of @KC from Casey VFL Game day reports from 2016, I'm pretty confident you'll find him suggest a few times that he was someone Melbourne should look at.
  5. Agreed. I'm always conflicted when it comes to Papley. I have a soft spot as I saw him play half a dozen games with Casey as the 23rd man top up in his draft year. And he's obviously a really good player. But he's also a complete goal hungry team mate who burns the others and he carries on like a total fl*g!
  6. Can any of our SA Dees supporters give their two cents as to why Norwood Oval with a capacity of about 10,000 picked as a venue as opposed to say Glenelg Oval with a capacity of 14,000 and also being located in a more touristy area? Just doesn't seem to make sense.
  7. He got some success with Mr Burns softball team.
  8. If you make it the porn site, you might be able to make it back in time for the 2nd half.
  9. Official sell out crowd for Fremantle v Gold Coast. 9,329. Doesn't seem right....
  10. Only one, Ben King. Van Rooyen can always move to CHB once May retires if need be.
  11. Not a bad quarter by Suns taking into account they were kicking into the breeze. Now don't get me wrong, the standard of this match is quite poor, however Gold Coast are looking much better then Freo. Currently harder at the contest, better in the air and first to the ground ball. Just need to tidy up those skills.
  12. I hope this isn't true. I 100% believe it should be held in Tassie maybe the year before they come into the competition. Games in Hobart, Launceston, Devonport and maybe somewhere like Glenorchy or Burnie?
  13. Umpires in love with Walters. Paid a mark he dropped for their 2nd and he clearly took the ball out then, but play on!
  14. He was a big Melbourne supporter before he was drafted from memory. If memory serves me correct there was a rumour at the time that he and Todd Viney clashed in a pre draft interview so we were never going to draft him? If true, great work Todd!
  15. He's a conundrum is Nat Fyfe. He's not the sort of guy a young team should bring in to mentor their young players like a Gold Coast or Hawthorn as he's not the greatest leader from all reports and os quite self focused. And on the other hand he's not a great finishing piece for a contender as he can only play midfield and his best days there are behind him. I can see him staying at Freo due to lack of other interest.
  16. No I've only heard rumours, so wouldn't post them on the forum. Fingers crossed he comes back soon as I really like Harmes. While he was ordinary against Brisbane, I thought he was quite good and really clean against the Dogs in Round 1. Also he's only about 5 games away from 150, so fingers crossed he gets there. Either way I'd think he'll have to earn a spot back through Casey given the depth we now have.
  17. Are your eyes painted on or perhaps you just don't understand the English language??? JJ is a free agent and can walk anywhere at seasons end. It's already been reported that he's put contract talks off. If it were up to me I'd sign him up for 2 or 3 years and I'd be playing him ahead of the likes of Sparrow, Harmes and a few others. Not mu decision though, and if he's put contract talks on hold, will be hard for the club to do as well. IF (want to make sure that's clear for you) JJ walks, the likely delisting of Dunstan and who knows what with Harmes. Then a mature age recruit like Fordham could be worth consideration. Or do you pay that little attention that you weren't aware JJ was a free agent or that Harmes isn't playing??🙄
  18. Great work, half the band is back together!😂 I'll give the others a couple more days. If no response I'll open up the floor for anyone else interested on the anyone for cricket thread.
  19. If Round 1 was anything to go off I suspect he just hasn't made the team. Casey have some good players and his Round 1 performance didn't demand selection.
  20. Another solid win from Casey today, quite similar to last week against Sydney after a slow start, they were able to wrestle the match back onto their terms and come away with what was a comfortable win. Things of note today. 1. Casey missed Tomlinson's drive off half back and McDonalds marking power across half forward. Took Casey a while to find their run off half back and Jefferson and Schache didn't have as strong a aerial presence as McDonald did last week, but they found a way in the end. 2. Blake Howes should make his senior debut this year. Don't think it will be next week or anything, but he's coming along nicely at half back. Still needs to clean up his disposal a bit, but in the first quarter when Frankston were all over us, Howes and Moniz-Wakefield were the reason that we didn't find ourselves further behind. 3. I like the look of Frankston's skipper Will Fordham. Spent a few years on North's rookie list back in 2015/16/17, then played some local footy and has been at Frankston the last few years. Shows some pretty good skills and spread well from the contest. With the likely list turn over of someone like Dunstan and question marks of JJ and what he might do as a free agent at seasons end, Fordham could be a potential mature age option for some midfield depth if required. 4. Bacon and egg rolls are still great!
