Stingers get the win 9-6 over Greece and move through to the Semi Finals! Puts an end to our sting of three teams in a row (Kookaburras, Hockeyroos and Boomers) getting knocked out in a Quarter Final.

Arissa Trew wins gold for Australia in the skateboarding. I think this makes her our youngest medal winner ever, an amazing achievement! Don't know if I'm completely on board with it being an Olympic sport, but an amazing effort all the same!

Agreed. Shattering after such a good start to the game. It will be very interesting to see how the team looks in 4 years time. Likely no Mills, Delly or Ingles anymore by LA 28.

With 6 days of competition to go, the race is on to see if Australia can make this their most successful Olympics or not. Can they do it? Currently already our 5th most successful, we're only 1 Gold & 4 Silver (or 2 Gold) away from making it our 4th most successful. Is there anyway we could get 5 more Gold or 4 Gold & 5 Silver to make it our most successful? I think it's a tall ask, but you never know. Jess Hull, Track Cycling, Sailing and Nina Kennedy are all chances. Will be an interesting last few nights.

Not a great night for our teams it seems with the Sharks going down to the previously winless Japan 13-14, after blowing a 4-0 lead. Looked like they played their back up goal keeper and they were assured of 2nd in their group anyway, but you'd like to take winning form into the Knockouts. Next up the Quarter Finals.

Disaster for the Hockeyroos with their 2-3 loss to China. And our Hockey teams have been eliminated in consecutive days in the Quarter Finals. This marks just the second time in the last 10 games that neither of our Hockey teams have medalled. To add insult to injury, this is the second games in a row that the Hockeyroos have topped their group, only to be knocked out first up in a Quarter Final. Where to from here???

The Opals do what they need to do and get the win 79-72 over France to secure a Quarter Final spot. Still TBA as to who it will be. But hopefully with the two wins, they should be able to avoid USA.

Two more medals to Australia. Silver & Bronze to Olyslagers & Patterson in the high jump! Looks like we'll have our first day of this games with no medals. Still a nice bag of medals for the day though.

More silver with our womens Medley team. Unfortunately with two gold medals on the final night, USA still ended up edging out Australia for winning the battle in the pool for this Olympics. Was still a great meet though!

The Kookaburras have been knocked out in the Quarter Finals 0-2 by a very good Netherlands team. It's been quite a disappointing tournament for them by their own expectations. Here's hoping Hockeyroos can keep the flag flying tomorrow.

Silver to Australia and Meg Harris in her only individual race! Well done young girl. The shocked look on her face was priceless.

Mariafe/Clancy have just defeated the highly ranked Brazilian pair 24-22, 21-14 in an amazing effort. They really have worked their way into this competition nicely. They'll now go up against the Swiss in the Quarter Finals.

Harkan (on commentary) mentioned that even if we have equal points as Netherlands, we'll finish above them give we won the match in head to head.

What a win by the Stingers! Two wins in penalty shoot outs shows they have nerves of steel and deserve to top their group. Bring on the Quarter Finals!

No I can't see anyone beating USA in the Basketball. Boomers are on the same side of the elimination draw as USA, so even if we get past Serbia, I feel that it's Bronze Medal at best.

Thanks for the breakdown Macca. I feel in the pool, our Womens Medley team us our best chance of Gold, as long as we don't lose too much time on the Breastroke leg. Shayna Jack and Meg Harris are both also shots in the 50m Freestyle, though it will be tough to beat Sjostrom from Sweden. Only one more Gold to equal our Gold haul from Melbourne 56'.

Bronze for Australia in the Mixed Medley Relay. I have to say, I question the selection decision to sub out Kyle Chalmers and Emma McKeon for Mollie O'Callaghan and Matt Temple??? Who knows what the thought process is? With one night to go in the pool, we're now only one Gold ahead of the USA. We need our women to take out their Medley Relay tomorrow to ensure we stay on top. Will be a tough ask!

Australia's Womens 3x3 Basketball team have been soundly beaten by Canada 10-21 and have been eliminated. A real shame as they were looking good until injury struck. They played some good ball at times in this tournament.

Silver to Australia and Arianna Titmus. A real brave fight taking it up to Katie Ledecky in Ledecky's pet event the 800 meters. One hell of a race!

Bronze to Kaylee McKeown in the 200IM. A little controversial given she touched 4th, but 3rd place was D/Q'd for an illegal turn. She can do no wrong Kaylee.

Another loss for our women in the 3x3 Basketball to France 16-18 in overtime. Some real questionable umpire calls didn't help them. A win would have locked up a top 2 spot and automatic semi final birth. Now they need to go through the play in phase. Sadly with their injuries, I expect they might get bounced straight away.

Well the Sharks have done it again. Defeating European powerhouse Hungary 9-8 in the Waterpolo. Never seen them play so well as they are at the moment. Have set themselves up for a legitimate push for a medal.

Silver to Australia in the windsurfing with Grey Morris! Great effort, I had a lot of trouble following what was going on out there. Haha.
