  1. The root of the friction will not be met until after the Scully issue is dead and buried. One way or the other there will be more pain and will have to be handled carefully by Don and The Board. At least Todd will take it up to Cameron and will act to protect his players. I now believe that the Scully situation is fracturing the squad at a senior level and Tom must be aware what is happening around him. It is time now to bring the whole messy situation to a close. I somehow think that the Board got it wrong and it maybe should have been Cameron to go and hold on to Dean for the next five weeks. The decision may have been made for practical reasons. (I don't believe it was a mateship decision.) It would have been totally unworkable to have not renewed Camerons contract and sack the coach as well as got rid of Chris. We have to have our required game list for 2012 with the AFL next week I think which would only be a small part of what is required week in week out from the Admin Dept. Cameron having his contract renewed for only one year is now on notice. Hopefully this will appease the players. I also hope that former players are not in the ear of the more senior players stirring the pot.
  2. We are passionate. We have to dominate the airwaves as SUPPORTERS. Yes support the team and the Club. Support them and get behind them. Have confidence that they will get it right. Become like Richmond and Collingwood supporters (slightly more refined though) and dominate the talkback. Yes we are embarrassed and shattered but by no means do we not support the Club and Jimmy and Don in what they are doing. Our Board are acknowledged as one of the best so have confidence but tell the world we have confidence otherwise idiot media hacks will have a field day about how we will all be off to the snow now. Tell them that you havae gone out and bought your membership as a show of support. (I've just sent off my premier membership as well). Supporting them also means turning up on the weekend. Support the team. Support Brad Green. No one saw how hard it was going to be for Green to cope with the captaincy. We all agreed that he was the best for the job. He has tried to get help from Gary and David Neitz. FFS how would some of us cope on the field. I mean he hasn't got much help from Rivers who should have been carrying a heavier load knowing that Brad was struggling. The media are salivating for blood. At last something they can get their teeth into and they will shred the Club apart. They will not hold back. It is time for the supporters to stand firm. No talk about microwaving memberships etc. Supporting the Club is not accepting mediocrity. Supporting the Club is accepting of a certain culture. The Board, Don and Jimmy have shown that they will not accept whatever has been going on by making the hard decisions. Imagine "sacking" or not renewing the contract of a good friend! We buy our memberships because we are in for the ride. It is and will be bumpy for a while but if we dont support our Club we will be easy fodder for not just the media but for Vlad and the Vladettes. So lets stand up and be counted on the weekend. When those boys run out on to the ground to play bruise free football against those cheats lets remember that we are probably playing one of the most important games of the last three or four years.
  3. Almost as good as getting Gary back. I would hope though that the Club put in a mentor like Thompson to assist him if he continues into 2012.
  4. It would seem from the Sun that Chris Connolly is safe for the moment but Cameron is unlikely to continue. When will this end.
  5. Todd may only be stepping in for the remainder of the season to revert back to his previous role in 2012. If he has taken the job on that proviso we wont lose him. You never know though what may happen. Has there ever been a coach who "coached" his son?
  6. What worries me more is that it wont fly with the Media as well and they will be probing as to why Cameron and Chris have gone(if the tweets are correct and they go tomorrow). What they discover may be more likely to do more harm than just with Dean being sacked. Coaches get sacked every year, not so CEO's etc etc. I say this though with no confirmed knowledge of why they would be sacked.
  7. Maybe it wasnt such a knee jerk reaction. Maybe Dean wasnt going to be offered an extension for next year, maybe Cameron's time at the Club was also limited. Yesterday's performance just bought it all forward.
  8. So has CS been sacked with CC. I have also heard the same rumour that the players have a problem with CS.
  9. I don't agree that DB should have been sacked so close to the end of the season. He seems to have been made scapegoat for the disaster yesterday even though the players are behind DB. To my mind there is more to this. For CS to also get the chop is the major mystery. He is very close to Jim yet he is gone. What has he done that makes his position so untenable. Chris Connolly is also close to Jim and Gary yet he seems to have gone as well. Not even his friendship with them has saved him. Something has happened to force the board to sack them both. It cant just be what happened yesterday on the footy field because neither Chris or Cameron should have had any bearing on the football department. Could it be Cameron's handling of the Tom Scully situation that has forced the Board's hand.
  10. Why do you think there is a problem between Bailey and Moloney. What was said on SEN to make you think that there is a problem.
  11. He was ill
  12. Overheard a snippet from BT talking to Mike Sheahan about the culture at Melbourne and was there a problem. Sheahan said that the word was that there is a problem between Cameron Schwab and Chris Connolly. Maybe it all stems from how James was given his marching orders last year. From that there are other issues. I thought that Chris had been advised to not get involved in the "coaching" area.I didnt hear the whole conversation, maybe someone else did and I have given it more merit than it deserves. How does something like this get out. Why can't we keep in-fighting within the Club and get it sorted. Why can other Clubs keep these things out of the press. If Green was imtimating that the players are not happy with the Club, is it one person or is it a Club policy. You would have thought that the players would have after all this time moved on from how they were feeling about James. Is there an outside influence who used to be close to the Club stirring the pot. On the other hand I heard Beamer talking after the game on Sunday and was really impressed with his answers. I would think that if Green was honest with himself he would give up the captaincy next year and hand it over to Beamer with VC Frawley and Trengove.
  13. Bail is really close but may need a week at Casey
  14. I thought that was one of the standouts for the game. I loved the way they were hard at the ball even when it was done and dusted.
  15. When Greg Swann was interviewed this morning by KB he said that he had seen a list of those players with 3rd party agreements and that Judd was not the highest contract that there was one higher. He said that he didnt know the name but there was a lot of snickering that it was Hunt or Floau (sorry cant remember) but it doesnt matter because they are both AFL players receiving a third party marketing payment from the AFL. Please it is just crap what comes out his mouth and he treats everyone with contempt. At least Tim Watson tried to take it up to Demetriou this morning not like the other two sycophants. Bloody Andy Maher would not know what probing was. To bring up White insinuating that Melbourne did to Fremantle what GWS is doing to us. Hoestly I hope there is a thing called Karma because I would hate to be Demetriou when it comes around.
  16. I think it shows that the Club is entirely comfortable having Jack front the media knowing that he will have to face Scully questioning each time. I think we will be supporting Jack for many years to come.
  17. Observations: - why is Tom now unhappy with some of the clauses in the MFC Contract. I thought he wasn't looking at the contracts until the end of the season. (Moderators I'm not saying he is lying but questioning the journalism aspect) - could he have judgedthe clauses without knowing what GWS was offering. - Saturday night we virtually won without him as he was beaten generally when he was playing so the world wont end if he goes. We will retain Jact T who will end up our captain and a Melbourne icon. If we really thought about it Tom is not media savvy as Jack is. We need both these days. - if he did come out now and acknowledge that he was GWS bound what harm would there be to play him at Casey or at all (resting his knee)Haven't the AFL virtually confirmed that we would get two high picks and his value has been now set and confirmed by the contract that we were prepared to offer and the contract that he will go to GWS. Just points to ponder
  18. HO suggest you read post 17 of GWS topic. Maybe AFL didnt change the rules they just didnt listen to the Committee. I couldn't give a rats..... if you stopped reading. As far as rants go you are not the only one allowed to rant but at least my rants are to the point whereas yours are unreadable, with a lot of innuendo so really they say nothing. Ha another rant
  19. I'm happy that he is playing with/against bigger stronger boys. Look what it did for Tappy.
  20. Hang on it was the Committee that made suggestions but were "ignored" by Vlad. The Committee were there as window dressing and that is all. The AFL are on a mission and nothing was going to derail it. The AFL changed the rules for Geelong with regard compensation for Ablett last year after complaints were made. The AFL changed the rules on 3rd Party contracts but it refuses to look at current contracts and their implications. The AFL changes the rules to suit whatever mission it is on. The AFL was originally set up by the Clubs and is now controlling those (most of those)Clubs that set them up. They control them by virtue of their ability to handout money. They set rules not in conjunction with the Clubs as originally mandated but now set the rules to suit whatever agenda they have at the time. No supporter should believe anything that Vlad and Anderson etc say. This is big business. There are no emotional investments within the AFL. We are all emotionally invested in our Clubs. There lies the difference. We should all hark back to the calls for Hawthorn and Melbourne to merge. Who was pulling the strings then. We were being pushed by other forces to merge. Thank goodness the Melbourne supporters and those within the Club didnt acquiesce. We are now stronger for it. I hope Tom stays but I am equally certain that if we can maintain the core group of Trengove, Watts, Gysberts, Grimes, Mckenzie, Frawley, Tapscott, Gawn that we will still be feared without him. The Club has to be on alert because the AFL care nothing for MFC and will happily assist GWS to plunder ours or any other Club that does not have any clout.
  21. Or maybe covering his rear end re libelling anyone.
  22. Doesn't this make it farcical that Vlad knows nothing about GWS contracts
  23. Thanks Wolf for that. I appreciate that you are supporting him as a friend rather than an elite footballer and it makes your comments even more plausible.
  24. Wolf - does Tom know that you post on this forum?
