I like it. he was immense for Collingwoods growth a few years back. may have left with feathers ruffled but was there for what seemed a really long time. many years of dealing in a high pressure club with high level sponsors and big dollars. the more I think about the more I like it
  2. *Weideman
  3. i hear Zurich knows a thing or 2 about untraceable Swiss bank accounts..... who the hell needs a visy paper bag
  4. yeah.... actually happened 3 times.... passed on him as a player. Then as a young coach. Then as a cranky old git.... he didn't quite get the message (or is it us that made the same mistake... hard to call on that). So Sheeds probably does have his nose out of joint about us
  5. pies fans are 100% convinced Petracca is on his way there..... given he supported them as a kid. lolz
  6. ANB and Trenners... we keep our 2nd pick whatever it takes to get him. if we can leverage (pun intended) with Carlton to get Gibbs to the crows and Lever to us with some draft picks and crumbs going between - will cost us our first rounder and 1 or 2 of Frost/one of our abundant mids. and it will be worth it. Mind you they will ask for Petracca and want Hunt thrown in to sweeten it for them!
  7. glad im not the only one. very similar nuggety body shape and just a pure manic half back flanker. has been exceptional
  8. Just a thought 2017 second rounder and Dunn to colonwood Colonwood 2nd rounder to ess Pig to us. That works (unless the Pies are desperate to stay in this years 2nd round...)
  9. What if the voice call of touched was a player.... as a defender you should assume the voice was anyone's and play it through until a whistle has actually sounded. If our players Sheppard it through instead of punch it through then they are just dumb footballers
  10. He is the chosen one... he will bring balance back to the force Just worked out that taking Collingwood royalty as our own is the key to ending the Norm Smith curse!
  11. http://m.canberratimes.com.au/afl/afl-news/tom-faul-hopes-all-christmases-come-at-once-in-afl-draft-20140920-10h4ia.html Just a little story on a local Canberra lad, hope he gets picked up somewhere - he's a great kid with a good head on his shoulders - will be very much an X factor project player. Has been playing with Ainslie in the NEAFL and a few games with GWS Ressies this year. Late draft/rookie prospect
  12. Well of course it's all Jack Watts fault - just goes without saying these days. No point in harping on about it. Roos keeps sticking up for him so even though we all know Jacks to blame for the silly blue sky, it's ok because Roos says it is!
  13. I think the bloke your looking for is Simon Black, you just don't notice them racking up the possies - dishing it out with absolutely no fuss at all. Vossy, Aker, Lappin and Power all benefitted majorly from Blacky doing what he does best. Dom has a similar build and skill set - can't wait to see what he could do with a couple of full preseason's injury free
  14. Strewth - imagine walking in on those 2 doing the wild monkey dance. Scarred for life at just the thought
  15. Haven't stopped by the thread since October. In that time I have had a mo' in Movember and then grew a beard over a 5 week holiday over Chrissy - much been going on here? Just asking cos I really couldn't be arsed reading through 4 months of no T$ no B$
  16. How does Roosy like his banana smoothie? Any special ingredients for him? I'm off to nth Queensland for a week, I'll chat to some banana/sugar/mango growers for some tips to make Paul something very special if he signs on the dotted lne :-)
  17. Home today with my little 4 month old Jako Jnr, as Mrs Jako is in bed as sick as a dog. Gee it'd be good to sit back and rewatch a few of our splendid wins this year.... Hmmmm crap! scratch that, need a new plan Looks like I've got 2 good looking banana's in the fruit bowl - I reckon one to eat and the other not sure - could turn it into a smoothie, it's not at over ripe make banana bread stage. Maybe pancakes with banana and cream for lunch? Need some help here banana smoothie or pancakes with banana topping?
  18. Think back to 2000, round 22 ( or whatever round was the last of the H&A season), WCE vs Melbourne - Bluey McKennna's last game - they were crap and we were on the rampage. I was in Perth doing a grad dip at UWA, living in the nurses quarters at Carlie Gardiner hospital - walking distance to Subiaco, but i digress - must have been one of maybe 3 Demons in the crowd. The game was well and truly cooked by early in the 3rd and was looking like it could get ugly for the home side. The game got interesting only because the coach did something that doesn't happen anymore, play up for the crowd - Bluey McKenna was sent to full forward and cleared out the 50 for the last quarter. Get bluey a goal in his last game. Unfortunately for the crowd, Guy McKenna was one of the alltime great half back flankers, and as such not a full forwards jockstrap! Had a couple of shots but just plain stank in front of goal. Chaired off afterwards to a standing ovation. That half back line on Woosha,G Jako and Bluey must be one of if not the strongest line on a football ground ever - still jealous of it. Just checked for you RL, listed as 184 cm - maybe you were on a step! but yes he'd look short next to the current players!!
  19. Have just rediscovered the Pine Lime Sunnyboy, very nice way to cut through the sweltering summer heat here in Canberra. Highly underrated the old Sunnyboy ice block. Would gladly forgo a banana or 2 for one in this Canberra heat wave
  20. Has anyone checked the GWS forums... It could gone up for a look around Edit: dam it beaten by a nanosecond

Did anyone catch the doco on Cadels win on SBS prior to the prologue? Really was good viewing - especially the interviews with Andy Schleck - he said that he knew the race was Cadels prior to the time trial and that finishing second to Cadel was a great honour, he went up to Cadel privately in the airport on route to the final stage and gave him a big congrats. First tie I've really noticed that Andy might actually be a good bloke, always had him pegged for an arrogant SOB - disappointed he's not racing this year now, would have made things more interesting. Footage after stage 1 shows Wiggins already under serious stress - he looks about as in control as Cadel 3 years ago - serious mental case! Certainly didn't look good for three weeks of intense racing

Go PATS Just something about blue with a bit of red that I like
  23. Yep.... Apparently both Melbourne teams suck. A good boxing day is all that is required to regain my faith in test cricket - plus a few hours listening to the 12th man! Then again once boxing day test is over, we will have all January to watch big bash games
  24. Correct on all counts Macca Btw Go renegades

Rather than Hijack the anyone for cricket thread which should be reserved for the Aussie side, thought I'd start a big bash thread Obviously we all support Melbourne, so therefore by default we will support either the Stars or the Renegades and hope for a Stars v Rengades final - that is a given. However who has your allegiance Stars lineup George Bailey, James Faulkner, John Hastings, Jon Holland, David Hussey, Alex Keath, Clint McKay, James Pattinson, Rob Quiney, Peter Siddle, Chris Simpson, Adam Voges, Matthew Wade, Shane Warne, Cameron White ©. Overseas players: Jade Dernbach, Luke Wright. Coach: Greg Shipperd. renegades line up Ryan Carters, Aaron Finch, Shane Harwood, Aaron Heal, Jayde Herrick, Michael Hill, Brad Hodge, Graham Manou, Glenn Maxwell, Andrew McDonald, Brenton McDonald ©, Dirk Nannes, Nathan Reardon, Will Sheridan, Shaun Tait. Overseas players: Abdul Razzaq, Shahid Afridi. Coach: Simon Helmot. Both look like exciting line up and my heart bleeds for my favorite Vic's - Huss, Sids, White throw in Pattinson and warne and you get excited. However McDonald(s), hodge, tait, nannies, Razzaq, Afridi, hardwood and Finch may just pip them for mine. I for one can't wait for what will become the premier game of cricket in years to come, don't get me wrong I love test cricket - unfortunately it is dying and not a commercial success 20/20 will be the form of the game that stays alive for years to come
