  1. For anyone having trouble getting the new site is there an ip address that we can punch in that will bring up the site?

That's a big move by LA. Nash should make a huge improvement to the team. I'm reading that there could be a huge 4 team trade soon, Dwight to Brooklyn is still well and truly on the cards.
  3. I'm already a Life Member, but I'd like to tip in a bit more. The donation page gives me no joy. Any chance of someone posting the paypal account number/link? Thanks Demonland, Thanks Nasher, big up yourself.

Deron Williams has just announced he's re-signing with the Nets. Portland has offered Pacers free agent Roy Hibbert a max deal. He's a restricted free agent so Indiana has the opportunity to keep him if they match the deal. But they've apparently been in talks with Chris Kaman, so they may think a max deal for Hibbert is over the top. Toronto has offered Steve Nash a 3 year $36 million deal. Kevin Garnett has agreed to re-sign with the Celtics for a 3 year $33 million deal (or there abouts). There's a team considering offering Eric Gordan a max deal. But I think the Hornets want to keep him and will match any offer. NBA free agency is crazy, so much is going on, still another week before anyone can officially sign.

Yeah, seems pretty incredible, at this stage it's just hearsay and rumour, but there's quite a few articles kicking around about it (some with and without Turk involved). SB Nation's article If it panned out they'd basically only have 4 players left on their roster, Williams, Howard, Johnson and Wallace and their payroll would stand at around $70 million. Would be a pretty imposing team. Other reports are saying that Jason Kidd will sign where ever Williams signs. Early days still so anything could happen.

Free Agency opens on July 1, but no one can officially sign for the first 10 days. I think they can sign free agents up until a month or so before the playoffs start. Something like that anyway? I've been reading that Brooklyn are still trying to land Howard. Something along the lines of trading Brook Lopez and 3 first round picks (2013 to 2015 or 2014 to 2016) and they'd take on Turkogu's contract too (I think he's owed $24 odd million over the next 2 years). Not sure how they'd make up the rest of the salaries to trade and I don't think they could consummate the trade until December (Something to do with Lopez's restricted free agent contract?). Should be interesting to see what pans out.

The big news today, in only the second day of free agency, is that Atlanta has agreed to trade Joe Johnson to Brooklyn. I'm not sure if it's a great move for Brooklyn, they haven't had to give up much (well they gave up a lot of players, but not of much value, guards Anthony Morrow, Jordan Farmar and DeShawn Stevenson and forwards Jordan Williams and Johan Petro, along with a draft pick Brooklyn received from Houston in a prior deal). But taking on Joe Johnson's contract is no small thing ($90 million over 4 years). Brooklyn have agreed to a 4 year $40 million deal with Gerald Wallace and are waiting on Deron Williams to make his decision on where he'll sign (apparently it's between Brooklyn and Dallas) Clippers traded out Mo Williams to Utah and brought in Lamar Odom from Dallas. The Clips would be hoping that Lamar's year at Dallas was an aberration, as they could lose Chris Paul as a free agent at the end of the year if things seriously go haywire.
  8. Haha, that's a pissah. Speaking of losing it, how about this from Fast Forward. And a few more good bits.
  9. It's just been announced that Lance Armstrong has been formally charged with doping. I hope that there's little truth to it as he seems to do a lot of charity work and the like and genuinely give back to society. But as there have been so many before him I guess it's not totally irrational for most people to come to the conclusion of guilty by association. It's interesting that they're basing the charges on witness statements, due to the fact that he's never returned a positive result to any of his 500 odd tests. Not great publicity for the tour, releasing details on the charges only a day or two before it starts.
  10. I remember after the first half dozen rounds someone came out and said Carlton was embracing the flag favourite tag. Yesterday someone else came out and said they were embracing the underdog tag. Funny how quickly things can change.
  11. Dan Sultan must have one of the best voices in Oz. I was lucky enough to see him at Castlemaine last year, incredible live. Jack Jack 4.1

5 Minutes left, Miami up 20 odd points, LBJ's already got a triple double. Just a matter of time before the Heat take their second championship. I would have thought their GM would be more excited, but Pat Riley looks like he's about to fall asleep.

Miami was one of those two teams. Won all three home games in their 2006 championship. If stats/streaks are anything to go by it'll get to game 6. It's the first time since April this year that OKC have lost 3 in a row. However the last time they lost 4 in a row was April 2009. You'd think OKC will come out swinging and force a game 6. But who knows, it's still a Miami home game so that must count for something too.

No team has lost after having a 3-1 lead. It would have to be one hellova twist.

Miami go up 3-1 and get a few scares along the way. Wade went down with a back injury in the first half and Lebron went down with a hip injury or cramp late in the final quarter. Both came back into the game, Lebron more importantly came back with a few minutes remaining to drop a 3 pointer but did see out the final minute of play. If there's any ongoing injuries to these two it opens the door for an OKC comeback. Westbrook had a massive game with 43 points. But between him and Durant they were the only 2 in double figures. 3 players scoring over 25, 4 in double figures, an ominous sign for OKC, Miami are starting to gel. I don't know what to make of Harden so far. He hasn't troubled Miami much in this series. There's been talk this season of whethere he's a max salary player on not, if this series is anything to go by you'd have to say no.
  18. Viney signed a 5 year contract, including a 3 year playing contract for 2013-2015. Details here. I think all this talk of calling GWS' bluff is a moot point, we'll take him wherever we have to.
  19. I looked it up. Looks like his ban finishes early August. I can't really see the point in him appealing this late in the game, but stranger things have happened.

I wouldn't put it past OKC to win it from here. They did win 4 in a row over the Spurs last round, so they have it in them. Miami can't keep relying on Lebron and an extraordinary effort so far from Battier. If they can get Bosh & Wade up and running I'm sure they can do it, but I haven't seen it yet. I wouldn't mind if Miami won. I think Lebron has copped a lot of unfair criticism, he's an incredible player. Would be unfortunate for such a great player not to get at least one ring. Haven't seen much of Mike Miller. Has he got anything to offer?

I didn't get to see the game, but Miami go up 2-1 in the series. I'm surprised they managed to get away with a win. The Durantula picked up a few dubious fouls which forced his exit late in the third, stopped his and OKC's run. Did their free throw shooting let them down? It's still a worry for Miami, LBJ still going strong, shot 11 of 23 from the field. But Bosh & Wade combined was 11 of 34. Chalmers 1 of 8. Edit: Got my stats wrong.
  22. Have we had the Doug Anthony All Stars yet? My favourite song of theirs is the one about dogs, but it's probably a little too crude to post here, so here's a dead Elvis instead.

Miami level the series. But I'm not entirely convinced. The players just don't look like they're in sync.
