Well said! Im over the Scully saga & the club did the right by not compromising the rest of the playing list by paying way over the odds for a yet to be proven champion. The AFL created this mess & dirty deals! A strong of genius Demetriou, give the mfc 6 mill & they too would get a player out of contract!

What concerns me is why the MFC have remained silent? I just think if this was the filth player Eddie would be making noise! I know it want change anything but at least show some anger!

Bottom line is that Mission has identified gaps in the fitness of the players & told as it is! The club has gone aftenttir the best possible people & resources to be able to compete against the big clubs Im rapt that we finally have a coach putting the blow torch on players like sylvia & davey that their output is not acceptable. Setting high standards for our younger players like watts & morton etc.

About time that a Coach has grown some balls & taken these so called stars Davey & Sylvia who secure big contracts but yet fail to deliver & let themselves down with of the field issues. These guys are meant to be leaders & show the way for the you the young players. I like Neeld who has drawn the line & said either reach this KPI or you want get a game regardless of your name!

The poor perception of our club is valid as we have not been able to stamp our authority this is due to poor leadership from the board over many years & poor training facility etc, which the current board are addressing Modern training facility & admin under one roof Debt demolition Record Major Sponsor Record membership Money to spend on getting extra coaches eg Craig, Missionn Stable board with commercial acumen to generate cash for the club Casey alignment to grow the brand Remember Geelong in 2000 were in 5mill debt & a under performing list, they fixed up all the off field issues and assembled the right people to build one of the best teams ever! This was without any priority picks! Other examples are Haw & Coll both down & out in the mid to late 90s, all have one thing in common STABILITY!

He was paying respect to his former coaches who helped him in his development Lets start talking about all the positives which have taken place over the last few weeks 1 New coach from a successful club & under a 3 time premiership coach 2 Neil Craig, fantastic sports science,coaching mentor 3 Mission & his assistant, fitness expert part of Swans flag & almost pinched one with the Saints 4 Appointment of new/extra coaching, we now can spend what other big clubs have had over us 5 New record sponsor 6 mill over 5 yrs

We should all be excited! Finally the best fitness/sports science working at the club! Great training facilities! Great people wanting to work at the MFC! Craig turned down a job @ richmond Lets praise the club & look back at our situation in 2008! All the knockers about Lyon not working for the club full time! Our players have no more excuses!

The question is did we do enough to chase Lyon or to entice MM to come over?? Imagine the presser if we landed MM the extra memberships would have paid for his contract. The MFC just needs that wow factor! The presser just sounded boring no pazzaz Dont get me wrong i think/wish Neeld will be good & hope he can change the culture of our playing list, line in the sand stuff etc

Feedback Im getting from filth supporters is that Neeld is very good & the reason why they won a flag. Malthouse dosent mince words & continues to say that this guy is the next big thing. Yeah great feeling in 87 I was 23 & always laughed at by friends etc about melb growing up watching them get flogged & not playing finals. It was like a rebirth of a footy club with supporters so exited & so much passion/belief in the players. We could have gone all the way except for that last game with Hawthorn.............

You need to question Lyons Character who walks out of his club for a better pay offer Mercenary! Even his own mgt team have dumbed him, what does that tell you! Would you want the MFC to pay him 7.5 mill over 5 yrs???

Yeh would be great if all was 100% at the club but what about all the other players who resigned/extended contracts. Why didnt this affect Trengoves decision?? Bottom line Scully was advised by his mgt that his currency would enormous & was told not to sign way before the above events. When you have 6 mill waved at you, you will find things at your current club to justify moving its just normal human behaviour. Lets find players who want to play for the MFC & get paid accordingly!

t Its a bit harsh on Scully mate! I would question his character if the money is the underlying factor, but its the system thats allowed this to take part not Scully. Give MFC & other clubs who have/will lose players the same level playing field to compete. Lets not forget that they have extra room in the CAP to pay more. My question his who created this?? My next question to you is would you not consider a job offer paying 200-300 k more a year?? I dont agree with the whats happening & the MFC are getting shafted again! But dont take it on the kid, should we have a crack at Judd, he took the money, Ablett, sure they achieved flags etc

Pure & simple it was all about the $ If it comes out and say that the $ are not the reason he is going thats BS People are having a crack at the MFC... what can they do pay a 20yo 800K-1m per yr, that would put the clubs salary cap & other players at risk! So the club spends 10% of its 8mill cap on 1 player??? If he was a Judd,Franklin,Abblett I would say why not! Blame the AFL not the MFC or Scully, but I would question him as a person if his driving ambition is the $. He will say that he can see a great future blah, blah.

At the end of the day I would rather have Lyon than an untried coach, but my point is that our last 4 coaches bailey,daniher,balme,northey had no premiership success as coaches, so will the same happen with Lyon? almost climb the mountain but not reach the peak. We have gone on this ride with previous coaches(bailey not incl )
