  1. I hear ya big time :D But if the Swans are that stupid, why not throw Bruce in instead of TJ
  2. Well i suppose it depends on the $$$ that he puts on himself. That's why Freo are reluctant to give him a new contract. He reminds me of Bruce, gets plenty of it but doesn't hurt teams as much as he should, ain't that fast, kicking ain't his best attribute. Would we need another one of these types???
  3. why would Richmond choose Morton, when they could get the best midfielder in the draft??? But hey, i won't be complaining if they did draft Morton and the weagles pass on Cotchin. Either way i'm happy with Cotchin or Palmer, but i wouldn't mind Rance/Henderson either. We need to get another top 10 pick.
  4. So we are trying to get rid of the most talented player on our list, but when it comes to Brad 'Dud' Miller, we want to give him a 2 year contract??? If they are trying to get more out of Sydney, i hope it doesn't bloody backfire. Hopefully they are waiting for Sydney to offer pick 11 and Buchanan for both Frosty and TJ !!!
  5. nah, if we were to get rid of TJ, i would want their 1st rounder for him. (and i wouldn't mind Buchanan either) TJ + Miller = Buchanan + pick 11 ??? (however i'd prefer Bruce to go instead of TJ)
  6. I remember back a couple of years ago, we could have gotten Sewell for him. In fact Sewell and the Dorks agreed to it, but Fergy didn't want to go. 2 years later, he has played only a handful of games, where no doubt he would have played more at the Dorks over those 2 years, plus we would have got Sewell <_<
  7. Of those players, i'd concentrate on Buchanan, Sherman and Murphy. (Meeson, as previously stated, is coming to the Dees) I'm really interested in Buchanan. He can play, got good skills, can kick a goal, and more importantly - he's quick (Our forward line needs pace - Davey can't do all the chasing). I would definately entertain the idea of trading for Sydney's pick 11 and Buchanan. It was mentioned here or on 'ology of the TJ + Miller deal. I'd offer Bruce instead of TJ, and would try and get Bruce to go to the Swans (even though he has signed a new deal) If we keep pick 4, and get say Palmer with it, i don't see any reason of getting Sherman. As for Murphy, has his contract expired? Coz if we got Meeson for pick 37, we could entice Murphy to come to us through the PSD (if his contract has expired)
  8. Correction. That is the way you pronounce it!!!
  9. If we could trade Bruce instead of TJ for pick 11 and Buchanan, i'd be over the moon if the deal was TJ instead of Bruce, i'd still be very happy. But i'd offer Sydney the first option before giving up Trapper.
  10. Well if we are to get a quick mid-fielder, Davey wouldn't need to be in the mid-field as much. He also plays his best footy in the forward line (as he seems to get lost in the middle). Davey would then become our permanent small forward. Meesen as you have pointed out is the ruckman gained, we could aslo get another ruckman with our 2nd round pick This narrows it down to our KPB and KPF. Hoping we have another first rounder, we draft for our most pressing need - a KPB Get our forward in next years draft, or with another second round pick that we trade for.
  11. Well as they say, better late than never!!!
  12. I reckon we need to ban Judd's name. He will now be known as "He who must not be named" as well as "You know who"
  13. Before the AFL introduced the new center circle rule, White was the dominant ruckman of the AFL, so he did live up to the hype of being a #1 pick. I know that Cox came off the rookie list.
  14. IMO, we need a KPF, KPB, Fast midfielder and a ruckman if we are able to obtain a 2nd top 10 pick, we can take 2 of those needs out. we trade for the others or get them in next years draft. with Robbo signing on for another 2 years, and with the emergence of the future greatest all-time goal kicker in Newton, our KPF can go on hold until next year (unless Henderson slips to pick 21 ) i reckon we go for our fast midfielder with the first pick, if we get another top 10 pick we should get Rance, and if Bellchambers is around (or maybe McEvoy, i can dream ) at pick 21, get him. That's not assuming we don't upgrade our 2nd round pick, or get another 2nd round pick through trade.
  15. There's another rumor going round (according to SEN, so probably completely false) that Cousins will be put on the trade table. They seem to be trying to load up for the national draft, as their team is still rather young, going for development rather than the quick fix.
  16. If we were able to somehow get the Swans pick 11 and Buchanan, well i'd be all for it.
  17. And we should try and get rid of Bruce. I don't care if he has just signed a contract, he will not win us a premiership, none of the senior players will, get rid of them now whilst they still have value. (this excludes Neita of course)
  18. Here's an idea, how about we keep our pick #4, and get a few other first round picks. Developing our own future champions, rather than poaching them.
  19. Lets be realistic here, even if we were to attempt going all the way for Neita, we simply wouldn't be able to do it. You look at Geelong, they have nothing but quality in their backline and mid-field, their forward line doesn't set the world on fire in terms of names, but they scored the most points of any team this year and it's better than ours. Our backline is very shallow, our mid-field was woeful this year (apart from Jones), our main ruckman just hits it anywhere, and our forward line consists of a 60 year old (who still is our best option up there), a guy that doesn't comprehend the meaning of pressure who keeps going to ground or trying to jump 50m in the air as our main targets. We would be kidding ourselves if we think we can go all the way next year. We may as face reality now, and start recruiting youth (ala Hawks) and build a successful team with a tough and winning culture from scratch. Better to start now rather than in another 2 years. Sure, it would be sad that Neita will probably never hold up the cup, but he's only 1 of 2 captains since '64 to get as close to it as possible. What about the likes of Flower and Lyon, true champions of the club and the AFL. We got a new coach, getting new facilities in the not too distant future, lets start to build a new team, one that will not constantly let it's supporters down. Bailey has a vision, let him build his own team, not [censored] fart around with scraps from an unsuccessful Daniher regime. Let him re-build the way he wants, hopefully delivering to us what we all crave.
  20. why stop at 2? we need 3 IMO. 1 for a KP forward 1 for a KP backman 1 for a quick midfielder preferably Hederson, Rance and Palmer if we're lucky enough, a decent ruckman like Bellchambers or McEvoy might still be around for our 2nd round pick. Lets get serious people, the likes of Bruce, Robbo (even Green) ain't gonna win us a premiership. We have a good young group of players, we should try and go for youth (hence the 3 1st rounders) to further compliment our group, to make a stand and push for a premiership in a few years time, coz we ain't gonna win it next year (i don't think) We may as well face that truth now, rather than in 3 years time after 3 seasons of being ok.
  21. yep, i only consider members of a footy team to be supporters. Those who aren't members of the footy club, are just fans. And we have a lot of those.
  22. Oh i can see it now, 3 or so years into the future, we win the cup the Filth win the spoon. Up comes Dean Bailey to give his speech, taking a page out of his former mentor's book, he belows into the microphone "Chris Judd you're wrong"
  23. I still reckon we need to get another 1st round draft pick.
  24. Here's an interesting fact Jaded. Whenever Geelong have won the Flag, Melbourne have won one within the next 2 years. There is hope we may live to see one
  25. Geelong by 20, G Ablett for BOG (wouldn't mind the Power getting over them though, i don't like Geelong) And for the big one............... Melbourne by 10 points, Cameron Smith for BOG
