  1. Want both, but not at that price. Would be prepared to give them pick 13/14, Martin and a swap of 3rd round picks (assuming Viney makes it through to the 2nd round), but pick 4 should definitely be off the table.
  2. There was a West Coast game over at Subi a few months back and as the umpires were walking off the ground, as they walked passed the fence, there was an Eagles fan holding up this huge sign saying "all we ask for is consistency". That just about sums up what i want from the umpires.
  3. He's about one head knock away from the AFL stepping in demanding that he be rested for 3 weeks to recover from concussion. No thanks.
  4. Because Jack Martin is the clear #1 choice this year, just like O'Meara was last year, but we need another bullocking KPF as highlighted by Mitch going down this season.
  5. His big body won't be as much of a problem, ie. dominating against the smaller kids then struggling in the big league. If we did draft him, he would have an entire year to build up even bigger, play against bigger bodies in the VFL, as well as training against some AFL seasoned bodies at the Dees training throughout the year (in particular Frawley). Come the start of 2014 (if we were to get him) he would be so far ahead of where he would be if he was taken in the 2013 draft, or compared to a Watts/Cook type developing KPF. I'd love him at the Dees, but i would only give up pick #4 for him, as no other team would beat that for the #2 MD pick.
  6. Provided he only signed a 2-year contract when drafted in 2010, then he'd be out of contract. I reckon Melbourne should also be telling Jurrah, that given all we have done for him, he should try and get traded as opposed to just leaving the club for nothing. I know many believe he isn't worth much, but there is so much doubt involved in his case, he will surely get off, even a dumbass lawyer should be able to get him cleared.
  7. This is simple, draft Kennedy and you have both a very good crumbing small forward as well as a quick midfielder. Bringing him to the club is just about as important as getting Toumpas here.
  8. McKernan cannot kick for peanuts. Wouldn't be able to hit the side of a barn, let alone kicking accurately at the goal.
  9. If Gysberts goes, then i'd be interested in bringing Stevens in, but not before. Apart from build, they are one and the same. Thrive on contested ball, tough inside players, not quick and foot skills aren't exactly elite either. Depends on attitude i guess, if Gysberts is slack in attitude and Stevens is a raging bull, then i'd swap immediately.
  10. if we had of picked up talia instead, i reckon he wouldn't have turned out as well as he has with the crows, given our development of kids of late has been extremely poor.
  11. For me it's not so much about height and weight (within reason - obviously cannot have a 180cm 80kg guy trying to hold down CHF), moreso, the way they play the position. KPP's need to have a presence about them, they must thrive on contact and physicality, they must want the ball and command it when they don't have it. Jack Watts has none of these traits, whereas Mitch Clark does. We still need another KPF and given we only have one decent KPD with these traits (Frawley), i still firmly believe that we are in need of another KPD as well (hopefully Sheahan comes on - as it will allow McDonald to play a type of high possession, re-bounding Dustin Fletcher type role)
  12. He's not a world-beater, but he's a better player than many are willing to concede on here.
  13. yep, we could've and should've taken Darling. I remember the exact moment when we read out Cook's name on the radio, which lead me to say in shock "woooaaahhhhh", i knew right then and there that we had stuffed that pick up. Thanks again Barry, also wanted to get Talia with pick 11 in the '09 draft. I know we all think we are expert recruiter's, but i honestly think i would have chosen better prospects than BP did, which goes to show how [censored] of a recruiting manager he was.
  14. Lucas Cook is now said to be gone - trade or de-listed Demons exodus continues with Lucas Cook
  15. And to think we could've taken Talia at #11 at the time. BP has to go down as just about the worst recruiting manager of all time. People cannot overstate the importance of this upcoming draft for us, i'm just relieved that we don't have someone as inept as BP was in the job leading us now.
  16. Apparantely we did know, because when asked to confirm by the Herald Sun, we said that what has transpired was expected. But even so, it has now been 90 minutes since the sotry broke that LJ has quit the club, i would have thought it doesn't take that long for the club to clarify and post something on the official MFC website. This is not the first time, many times actually, where melbournefc.com.au is the last place to inform melbourne supporters on certain things concerning the MFC. I just think it's an extremely poor effort to keep its members informed, seeing how we are trying to become 'elite' in everything we do, HA.
  17. What i find equally disturbing, is that whilst every other media outlet in town is reporting on Jurrah leaving us, there is not even anything mentioned on the mfc website. Once again, if you want to know anything MFC related, melbournefc.com.au is the last place to let you know. Pathetic. Boy we really know how to look after our supporters don't we!
  18. The good thing is, given Essendpn finish outside the 8, our pick basically goes up by 1, seeing that they will have to part with their 1st rounder for Daniher (though that's still a massive win for them, would be rapt to have gotten him at pick 1 if we had it.)
  19. would rather get Kennedy at pick 13 (if he's still there) than give it up for Caddy. Kennedy has just as big a kick, is a hell of a lot quicker, has much greater goal nous and can find the ball a lot easier than Caddy. The only area Caddy is supreme is in the guts, but given his current form, i'm starting to doubt that too. Kennedy all the way
  20. Stick with me here, If we were to get both MD picks, no one says we have to use both in the mini draft. It is known that both WA teams would dearly love to get their hands on Martin, but neither believe they will be able to come up with the right price. Of the two, West Coast is right into Martin in a big big way. It is also known that we are still very keen on Gaff. Would we put it to the weagles........ would they be willing to give up Gaff (a victorian boy) in exchange for Martin? Gaff signed a 3-year extension to stay at West Coast, but if we were able to persuade him to come home, and WCE also agreed to the deal........................just something to think about! We might have to throw in something more to get it done (and no, not Morton - may as well try and sell them a car with 3 wheels), but in effect, we would be losing the fat one's off-spring and getting Gaff (very similar player who has surpassed him) whilst also getting pick 13.
  21. McKenzie doesn't add much to our team, what he does is try and take away from the other team. He's not all that flash and is at best an average player, but there are many that should go before him. He is one of only a few at the club who continually puts in 100%. It is his type that develops culture within a club.
  22. There was never a Chinese sponsorship within kooee of being signed. Schwab readily admitted this at a news conference when the energywatch debacle happened. It was a ballsy play and CS would have been lauded a champion if he landed a big fish, but sadly to no avail.
  23. They cannot be banked and have to be used in the upcoming draft, don't know how they figure out what pick to give though.
