Farewell Jesse Hogan
Considering Andrew came from last years draft, then i'd say yes.

Surely BBO would have an ointment for that

Exactly my thinking as well skuit. Freo could stuff us around for the entirety of trade week then at the last minute relent, stopping us from bringing in the players we'd need to cover the loss of Jesse and balance of the team. We need to give them a firm deadline to meet, otherwise deal is off. period.

Nope, RFA at the end of 2020.

That would be Lachie Weller RGRS. Mav Weller is still in ICU after copping one of Viney's best way back in 2016!!!

Farewell Dean Kent
Yep tell St.Kilda to f-off. Then tell Kent that if he wants to go to them, he has to get them to give us something half-decent.

Probably too skinny for Dews liking!

I think that's why we're interested in KK. Price tag won't be nearly as big, but big reward if he can find his best form again.

His goal kicking ain't that flash, but his field kicking is right up there.

Nope, Josh Wagner please.

When does Clarry come out of contract again? If gaff is worth $1.2m, Clarry is worth at least $2.4m

He'll be 27 next year, ETG (still 26 until early Jan). Still in his prime for a KPP.

Pick 10 + 3rd rounder for SM and KK. Preuss through kent/tyson trade, then try and lure in an a-grade mid with the other Hogan first rounder and our future first round pick?
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Preuss and Kolo....nij won't cost too much, if we want them we'll get them. May and an A-grade mid depends on what we get for Hogan. Agree though it will help sure up our rucks, backline and midfield. Weed will need to continue on his upward trend for our forward line not to go backwards though.

Damn auto spelling on an iPad. Obviously I meant Gorilla back-man (auto spell nearly tripped me up again). I should proof read a little better when I post ?

If it is 2 first rounders from Freo, it simply has to involve their first pick (ie. 6 & 10, not 9 & 10). Trade pick 10 + later pick to GC for May + KK. Get a gorilla Blackman to sure up the defence, KK to run the wings and rebound off hb, then either go to the draft and bring in one of the King twins to develop into that missing KPF (preferably ben as he has proven to be capable at both ends) or trade it for another quality player. Make the best of a bad situation.

Why not, it worked for TMAC

A fantastic and very prudent observation bells. Hogan is definitely worth twice the value of Weller, but for arguments sake let’s say a very conservative and generous for Freo, 1.25. That right there is the value of 1.25x 2517 points = 3146 points, aka pick 5 and pick 12. That then becomes pick 10 if Freo’s Pick 5 gets pushed out to 6 due to the Lynch compo.

No matter what we get in return, losing Hogan instantly makes us a worse team. He is an a-grade CHF with at least 9 year’s of footy ahead of him. You build teams around blokes with his level of talent. He is a known quantity, a very valuable quantity. Draft picks (no matter how high) are an unknown quantity and remain so for a few years once drafted. 2 top 10 picks has to be the minimum, and that is to try and bring in ready made talent, our time of relying on the draft is over, we are building for the now. The only drafting of KPP kids I would dare dream of is the King twins. And that is a pipe dream that would still take years to come to fruition.

Totally agree MD516. Anything less than 2 first rounders (especially a high first round pick) and we must simply not do any deal. Like you have said, we gave up 2 first rounders for him, then when he went through all his dreadful times we have stood by him and supported him. The article suggests he is open to a trade if we are, leading me to assume he will only go if we get his market rate in return.

I'd argue that he'd need to be able to play both forward and back. Intercept defender and bomb it in long option to either mark or bring ball to ground.

love the lack of quotes and citing of sources there. FMD, journalism in this country is so amateurish, there is a complete lack of integrity. Would get more accuracy from Chinese whispers than through media outlets nowadays, lol. For the MFCSS sufferers out there, fear not. Hogan cannot sign a contract with Freo due to him having one in place with Melbourne until the end of the 2019 season. He can only sign off on one once we agree to trade him, which would result in the outcome being of great benefit to us, as oppose to being held over a barrel for scraps. Fear not.

Thanks Cameron Pedersen
Was a true clubman. What was the deal to get him here? Gysberts and a swap of late picks? Big winners there!
