  1. Not excusing Brown but a very very very very very very very very very good point. Brown is done but we won't win many when our forwards kick like that.
  2. One of the few good calls I've read.
  3. Yet another "Stupid Thread", Dunn had a very similar debut to Newton, why would he worry? Newton was "ok", nothing special.
  4. What a load of tripe. Well done Paul, fans continually call for the coaches, recruiters or players head and you consistantly maintain a supportive culture. A review was timely and warranted, stakeholders have every right to know what the course of action is after such a weak and insipid season to date. I personally believe that the statement issued to media was perfect, why let the vultures know more than they need to. To be honest, who the [censored] knows what went on at board level and what was actually communicated to Neale regarding the review, the fact is Neale chose to walk, rather than be part of the review and to be honest, I'm happy he did, we would never have won a premiership under Neale and the new coach is going to need to change a few attitudes amongst the senior playing group to taste any sort of success. I only hope the new coach can get more out of the talented likes of TJ, Bruce, Green and Robertson.
  5. Has been reported Juice suffered a corked thigh half way through the third.
  6. Surely you jest? They don't have a credential between them, I love the Ox but if his commentary is anything to go by... jesus, would you actually want him speaking to even your kids footy team? How about these Gems from the Ox... " Essendon need to get in front to be a chance of winning tonight ", When the scoreline was 94 - 48 - " Melbourne are 38 points behind ", " Gee he really telecasted that kick " Telecasted????? Thanks but no Thanks.
  7. Fair enough. How should I read this attack on the integrity of Neale Daniher? Does Daniher want to go? Does he want to join Essendon? Has he now lost all interest in Melbourne?
  8. Some of the posts on this thread are "Dumb", mainly from emotion. I agree with much of the sentiment however I cannot agree that as a football club our sole goal was to "lose support for the club". Dumb comment. The comments regarding Paul Gardner taking the walk are "dumb". Paul is a fantastic chairman and is doing a pretty good job in his department. Dumb comment. Dumber football, dumber coaching. I agree with the title though, goodbye Neale.
  9. The correct decision. Campbell Brown is a complete [censored] and I actually wish Judd had poked him eyeballs clean out of the sockets but thats another issue. It was utter stupidity that he was charged.
  10. Nice to see Petterd starting well again. Did a couple of nice things. Doggie Brown 11 touches in the first including a goal.
  11. I didn't read it properly, apologies.
  12. Without all the sentiment, it is pretty clear who our top 5 is at this stage: 1- Brock McLean 2- Clint Bartram 3- Nathan Jones 4- Lynden Dunn 5- Colin Sylvia With apologies to Bate, I think I can I think I can, SON, YOU CAN, NOW JUST DO IT! Petterd, 1 game.... let me see some more yet.
  13. So if Brock McLean decided at years end that Collingwood have offered him 100k more a year and he decided to leave, you'd wish him all the best, after all, he's looking after his lot you know? I agree Nathan Brown is rated far to highly, a superstar? please... a Star? please, a very good player who actually hasn't done a great deal in football to people to rave about, he played well in a poor side, went to another poor side and played well.... didn't star, isn't and never was a super star. I won't shed a tear to be honest.
  14. Jeff Farmer and Scott Thompson.... equally. Or Judas and Judas as I have them named.
  15. I think Chuck will ROUNDHOUSE kick you in the face for saying sidekick!
  16. Grazman it isn't an attack on Bruce's workrate, I think he is working as hard as he can but his skills have gone completely south.
  17. Jaded, this comes back to leadership, its our leaders, the TJ's, The Bruce's, The Yze's and The White's that need to lead by example. You can't expect kids still learning the craft to simply develop themselves, they learn from the leaders of the club and frankly, there isn't any leadership right now.
  18. Are we possible the most poorly skilled team in the competition? I watched Richmond V Collingwood on friday night and frankly, even Richmond use the ball far better than our players. As much as I like Bruce, watching him stroll to 50, kick inside and completely miss a player in space is staggering, TJ is an enigma, we know this but in the last 12 months I fear every time he gets the pill, we all know the once wonderful Adem simply doesn't have a decent boot anymore. The problem is though, Bate, Jones and Bell, the current youngsters in our side don't appear to be the most highly skilled, sure they can spot up a target but it isn't consistant.... at all, they simply can't adapt to pressure football at this stage and are getting found out, Jones on numerous occasions today, took possession and instantly bombed away, either around the body or simply pumped it as far as he could, this is where the leadership aspect comes in, panic sets in and there is no-one to set the example for these kids. The biggest fear I have is that this wonderful batch of youngsters are going to contract the same cancer that has dogged this club since our last flag, we try and iron over the cracks, yet at the first sign of pressure we split open like a drunken pugs eyebrow. If anyone can tell me they don't have concerns with the lack of skill in our side, I'd be highly surprised, watching Carroll, Holland, Ward and Nathan Brown run the ball from defence makes me cry. Watching us try to clear the ball when it hit the ground today was like watching the little league kids run about, it is really scary and I can't see an out at this stage. I can be critical of this side, sometimes maybe a little harshly but the first 3 weeks of this season and our end to last season concerns me greatly, the problem is, I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel for our mob.
  19. Goodwin was well respected in Tassie football circles, remembering he was here when we had a fledging statewide competition. By respect I don't mean respect born from fear, rather respect for his work in lifting Devonport from consistant loser, to a very very good side, which some considered unlucky not to win a flag. I spoke with Goodwin a few times after matches, as hard as he was on the field, he wasn't as silly as some made him out to be.
  20. 1. Ken Hall Interesting name for Sandy, is this the Ken Hall that was listed by Essendon and played VFL with Tasmania? Ken Hall is a very very very good footballer, if this is him, Sandy have picked up a VFL gun.
  21. Or a drug rehabilitation facility. The funniest thing FannyPete will be your absence when we inflict another heavy defeat circa 2006.
  22. I too have added a young Demon to the fold, Xavier Thomas was born on Feb 1 at noon and was a member that afternoon! What I have found frustrating is the lack of Demons baby clothes for new borns, I understand they are probably not popular given the growth rate of babies but geeze, having to wait until they are in 00's is a nightmare!
  23. My suggestion to you Occo: Before having the gumption to suggestion someone is "Immiture", look up how to correctly spell the word. I am aware that "Gambeling" can be addictive but I am also aware that that a contract is a binding legal obligation between parties. As for being an "adict", I am acutely aware of how difficult it is to give up a habit, however, I am now 21 months into my smoking rehabilitation, all it takes is a little will power and actually wanting to quit. I won't be a complete and utter anal git about the rest but take this away you: This is a forum where many people are encouraged to voice an opinion, remember those words champ.
