  1. Gaff can accumulate 35 possessions in my side any time he likes.
  2. You've got two choices ... look backwards with despair at the past, or look forward with optimism at where our group of players is going. I prefer the latter, and I'm with ProDee. While I think great things in 2018 might be premature (although you never discount anything) it's still a stepping stone. In 2019 and 2020 we'll see this team really arrive. Slashing your wrists in the meantime is, of course, your prerogative.
  3. That's irrelevant to what you said. You said he "wilted under pressure" when in fact his output in the last two losing games has been the same as all the other games he's played this season i.e he averages 29 possessions a game. We could do with an outside player who accumulates that many, if that is the word you wish to use instead of "he gets it a lot". And no one on here has said he's a "messiah". More exaggeration from you. He would just add class, not change the side completely.
  4. In the last two matches, Gaff had 24 possessions against the Swans and 32 against the Bombers (easily the Eagles highest possession winner). Hardly "wilting under pressure"
  5. Wright is playing in the reserves for a side that is bottom four with a percentage of 62. They can't kick more than 5 goals a game, yet he can't get a game. I don't see how he'd help, let alone giving away JKH and swapping a worse pick.
  6. You must be watching a different Jones to me.
  7. One player shouldn't make a 7-goal difference. We were at full strength otherwise. I hope all those here who were ridiculing Champion Data's rating of the Collingwood midfield are thinking again. De Goey, Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Treloar et al are a very good combination and well above ours. BTW, I don't think Cox would be anywhere near as effective if it were wet. Collingwood had better hope for dry finals.
  8. My father-in-law was an Essendon supporter in 1948, and he still goes on about how Melbourne brought back $%^&*# Jack Mueller to play full-forward and how he kicked 8, 6 and 6 goals in three finals to win the flag for Melbourne.
  9. Intriguing notion, this idea of "Supporters as Team". Just because supporters are frothing at the mouth over achievements in the last month doesn't mean the actual team is thinking the same way.
  10. Yes. Trachoma is a disease caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis. Largely preventable by clean hands and a clean environment, which is the message of the Melbourne program.
  11. How much does he think TMac would sign for? Peanuts?
  12. I blame the Masterchef distraction for not winning by 150.
  13. I don't actually watch Masterchef and I don't like a lot of reality TV. But that's not the point. Nor is it the point that jackaub and Rocky thinks it's "crap". The point is that nearly a million people don't think it's "crap". The Masterchef episode was filmed off-season, and it's a comparatively small effort on the club's and the player's part to get massive exposure on prime time television. It shows there's more to the club than just playing football, and there's a lot of great footage of our magnificent home ground. I have presumed your view of the club from the massive number of critical posts you make. Maybe you could prove me wrong by being more positive more often as we rise up the ladder. I understand that might be hard.
  14. The first promo shot with the AHG top was filmed last year, at the Masterchef lunch all the players had iSelect tops and it was filmed earlier this year.
  15. I thought when I saw this thread that the one person who would object to it was you. You never have a single positive thing to say about the club. Do you have any idea what an hour's prime time exposure on one of Australia's most popular television shows is worth? My son's restaurant has Masterchef film there every second year. They did it again earlier in the year. They will literally get thousands of calls in the week after it is aired.
  16. Some of you need to take off the Oliver-coloured glasses and admit that Cunnington is also very, very good.
  17. All I know is that at the moment, I wouldn't want Petracca to be kicking for goal after the siren to win a grand final. It would only be marginally less nerve-wracking than Max.
  18. Olivinaccashaw! By then Dangerwoodlett will be long gone.
  19. Barrett, Lloyd and Bartel need to apologise. In their Access All Areas video on afl.com.au, they openly stated that Hogan would be "ashamed of his overreaction" and would "cop an automatic fine for staging". They just openly maligned Hogan's reputation. No mention of, or look at, the goal-post video, and just an assumption based on the only (limited) footage available at the time.
  20. You don't waste a player like Viney in the twos.
  21. Really? I think we're much better with the three of them rather than Garlett. More pressure further up the ground and closer to goal, better marking options. Melksham is a great field kick.
  22. And I guess Max will be useless to us if the AFL goes bankrupt. The comparison is ridiculous.
  23. "Bromance" rubbish. You don't trade out a 208cm All-Australian ruckman you have spent eight years developing, especially when they have reached the 26-year-old and 80-100 game milestone and are getting multiple BOGs. This is not some trading game like a packet of AFL cards.
  24. Best you get another financial advisor, one that will tell you the perils of disposing of a valuable asset. Maxy is paying great dividends and is a definite "hold".
