Craig has coached himself out of contention
Cheap Seats replied to The Yarra's topic in Melbourne Demons
This thread clearly needs to be re-named to - It's time to go Neil Craig -
Team is full of soft one way players There are a handful of decent players - but the rest are soft
-
Alright cool I;ll make sure I am in the right thread next time When I posted I was commenting directly to BH but feel free to tell me I wasn't - I don't mean to be rude but this is a thread about being frustrated with the Administration of the club isn't it?
-
Cool story bro So you've wasted my time over 2 days to tell me you don't want to talk about the admin - but you're happy to trust the decisions form the club even though the majority of the decisions makers are the same that hired Neeld Haha Again thanks for playing - at least you have entertained me even if you can't answer the question Show me your superior intelligence again and post some more of those gifs - I actually pay half wits to do that for me
-
All fair and well But you attacked my opinion from the outset and wanted to discuss the Neeld situation solely. You didn't even address the greater picture So why can't I be furious with the administration of this club? Why reply if you can't answer it? Afterall this is what this thread is about Your inability to answer this is embarrassing to you - and hence why I've pointed out your Neeld centric comments are a waste of time Thanks for playing I'll make this simple for you BH and others. NOTE I am not picking on Don solely, Schwab and others played their hands - but for simplicity I will refer to it as McLardys administration. How is acceptable at any level of business that a board that appointed Neeld sack him within 18 months and the majority of those responsible for that termination remain in charge> It is a clear failure of the management of the club. It's not about the decision itself its about the lack of accountability and clear ineffectiveness of the board to make correct and reasonable decisions. it's not the decision to sack Neeld - it's the clear failure at board level when they appointed him and failed to adequately support him and then waste 2 years of time and MFC money kindly donated by members and the Foundation of Heros At no stage do you address any of this in your replies BH - you say you daon't care for my opinion buy you keep replying to correct it haha taking the high ground what a joke
-
I've previously mentioned prior administrations to the current one Adam - Why are people so nieve? I guess your happy with the club now being an AFL franchise, 2 more wasted years of development of the team, Foundation heros kindy donated to the club now blown down the toilet All is rosy I don't solely blame this board - but who can trust any decision coming out of this club? No vision, no accountability and no football brains - you keep looking short term Adam
-
Great movie - faceoff - and I do enjoy your replies as I like Kate Upton But overall you've lacked any real quality BH
-
I don't want to get in a long argument - no offense, i just wanted to vent and clarify my position If you need further examples of mishandling of employees - i give you Gardner (although not a technical employee still a prime example) Gutnick (See Gardner) Bailey, Neeld, Jnr Mac, Brick McLean - i can keep going if you like but hopefully you get my point Directionless - unprofessional club and we deserve to be where we are - now an AFL franchise The club as far back as I can remember - and i've stated i haven't followed closely since mid 00's has mishandled situations (tanking) and employees and has no clear direction , wastes the members and supporters goodwill and time and patience- a failure of the highest calibre - Why shouldn't I Be furiosus I finially understand what Rhino was on about around 8 months ago
-
Once again a nice little rant BH but at no stage do you address the key fundamentals of why I am furious at this club... Why do you feel the need to defend the Neeld decision in islolation when it's not even the only decision I am questioning? Who are you trying to convince me or yourself? You say it yourself in your own argument 'The goal posts moved' That to me sums up my whole argument - this club has no idea how to handle employees and continues to be directionless - Why are you so offended that I am furious at this club? Why do you keep accepting decisoin made by people who have continually gotten things wrong?
-
You said: "Player retention, Performance and on field competitiveness indicate that either Jackson didn't agree with the board and the direction when Neeld was appointed in 2012 or Neeld was lied to by the board - a rebuilding club can not meet the demands Jackson outlined - so either the club has folded to pressure of the rebuild or other factors were at play" I dispute that Neeld told the Board, "we need a complete rebuild". You argument seems based on this premise and that they weren't strong enough to allow Neeld to see it through. That line is why I am not going to give your post any further thought - No disrespect intended BH but you don't address the core issues at all Where is your evidence? I take my opinion from what Neeld has said in the media and the direction of the club in recruiting and player retention. Why would you delist Pettered and other senior players if you weren't rebuilding the club? Why would you play a team full of players with less then 2 years AFL experience if you weren't rebuilding? Why would you recrate for the future in Hogan like we did if we weren't rebuilding? If this wasn't the direction the club wanted to take (rebuild) it was clearly not communicated to Neeld from board level otherwise Neelds actions since he has been at the club were complete opposite/contradiction to what the club wanted. I make this statement as In Jackson press conference Monday - when he communicated why Neeld was sacked they are a complete contradiction of the direction of the club under Neeld So unless you address my points to the overall argument that the MFC has no direction and has underperformed as a whole entity since at least the early 2000 and the sacking of another coach is another waste of time (2 years) and wasting more money the club clearly does not have and don't just say you disagree I am not going to bother responding Why don't I have the right to be angry with the Administration of this club? Why do they get to chop and change direction? You don't have to look far to see what direction successful clubs in 2013 took back in the early 2000's to rebuild. No matter what your opinion of the list prior to Neeld and the list post Neeld it's pretty clear this will be a rebuild of a rebuild of a rebuild which indicates the club has no direction and has wasted the Members time, and the pressure on the new coach will be extreme. I forsee the same crap 2 years down the track and that's why I see us as a weak club
-
he wasn't criticized you fool, they were just given the nickname Crowbots because of their gamestyle In case you didnt realize he had them in the finals every year he was there stop posting rubbish Haha clown - I shall call you the blind deer from now on (no idea) I was commenting on Django's comment re change of gamestyle - your so stupid you praise Craig without seeing him coach the club and Craig's gamestyle is what you so publicy criticised Neeld for You cleary have no idea regarding the bolded statement because he was heavily criticised by crows supporters and the media - which is why Sanderson was brought in. You point out that the crows play like robots (which is a major criticism of Neeld) and you try to win the argument but comparing the MFC now to the crows of the early 00's Are you stupid or are you a blind deer? I will not waste anymore time with your crap posts
-
Spot on mate Failure after failure - in all aspects of the business by a lot of MFC boards The failures continue, and it's us 'the members' who suffer not these blokes
-
Don't have quotes Demonland - it was a quick grab on the ch 7 news i caught But it was reminiscent of Moloney Instagram pic - kind of gloating in the demise of the MFC post himself Just indicated to me there are people in and around the club happy to see the club fail - which says to me the club is still fractured inside and out...... thumbsdown How do we honestly expect the club to succeed on field when this crap continues? Again it indicates a poor performance of prior and current boards - fracturing reliationships
-
You clearly confuse my criticism of the MFC for Neeld protecting which you clearly miss the mark I've already discussed developing sides in prior threads - am not going to waste my time arguing minute points about the hawks or cats - you miss the point completely - it's not about Neelds performance, it's not why Neeld was sacked - it's about the MFCs inability to have a plan and stick to that plan - It's about the people in charge wasting the Members time and money over and over again, it's about the board not being accountable to anyone The whole club is not AFL standard - I don't know how you can trust any decision made from the top Don't waste my time with the above rubbish - you don't need to justify Neelds sacking it's obvious - but 1 thing is very clear - Jacksons comment re Neelds sacking were clear - so how if the MFC was rebuilding the rebuild, so how exactly were those factors realistic?? Point is - The MFC changed it's direction or the direction was not clear - again a major flaw/failing from the top If Jackson was not in charge of the club (and now the AFL) how could you trust any decision from this board? The MFC FD has no chance with such a poor foundation of a club...... Neelds fate can and will most likely be the same fate of the coach - I can say that confidently as this fractured, impotent club has and won't achieve anything The criteria you so readily judge Neeld on - I am judging the Administration - and I don't need too much evidence that since 2000 all administrations have been pretty bloody poor -
-
Fair point Django As I said I wasn't bagging what you said - I believe Neeld and Craig are too similar to see any big difference in 2013 - depends how he coaches but he was know at Adelaide for his players playing like robots And isn't that what Neeld was just fired for? Well one of the critcisms anyway. I don't forsee too many changes under Craig - but at least 2013 will be interesting
-
Are you blokes taking the [censored] or do you just have no idea? Edit: Craig was critcised heavily at the Crows for his players being robotic - sound familiar? I am not going to reply to any other rubbish which offers little substance
-
Just saw Paul Gardner dance on the graves of his replacements on Ch 7 What a joke - this club will end up killing itself. I have no allegiance or any contacts within the club - I just want to see a successful club. But this bloke confirms for me there are people iin and around the club are working against it.... Mark Neeld is not the issue - fractions within the club most likely start rumors and push their own agendas, it is an embarrassment - I genuinely feel sorry for the next coach who is foolish enough to take this appointment. The MFC is a genuine embarrassment
-
Sorry Django but that is way off the mark Craig was well know at Adelaide for his payers being robots - or Crowbots. (Not saying you personally) But if you disliked Neeld you will dislike Craig
-
That went longer then expected - welcome back me
-
All of what you said is fine. - I guess what myself and others are saying is no matter what your thoughts are on Neeld and his performance, the club continues to mishandle situations and waste the Members time and money. (rebuilding and paying out contracts etc) The same mistakes keep happening over and over. Peter Jackson has made a decision and I do not dispute it, but the reasons outlined in the press conference are pretty average at best, and here is why, Player retention, Performance and on field competitiveness indicate that either Jackson didn't agree with the board and the direction when Neeld was appointed in 2012 or Neeld was lied to by the board - a rebuilding club can not meet the demands Jackson outlined - so either the club has folded to pressure of the rebuild or other factors were at play AFL approval was need -. a real sign that there a big problems at board level People have talked about the evaluation of Neeld and he needed to be sacked based on results - I'd say the board (ex Jackson) should be stood down for turning this club in to a embarrassment it is today - and I will continue to say their performance of the board has been worse then Neeld This club is embarrassing to support - it will take years for this club to be competitive on field again, I haven't really followed the club that closely off field until 2009ish but the majority of MFC administrations seem to all have the same poor characteristics Poor decision making lack of accountability to members No good faith to former employees lack of football knowledge of how to be competitive in this industry No thought on how their decisions affect the clubs image or standings in the market place (tanking, sackings etc) No strong club folds to speculations and rumours when rebuilding. See Geelong, Hawks and GC (all be it I admit that GC had a big leg up from the AFL) Neeld was brought in from my understanding because of poor player performance and standards were well below par at AFL level. Now it seems that the players who were below AFL standard have gotten Neeld fired. I am sure Neeld has made mistakes (man management, and media performance etc) but the MFC has basically said we don't want to change by making firing Neeld. Clearly onfield results are not acceptable and change was needed - but the overall statement made by the club over the past few weeks says to me that the club can't handle change, and we will fold to pressure when the going gets tough just like our players. There is a saying I've heard in circles around professions in the AFL industry - Put enough pressure on the MFC and they will fold - on and off field. This is unprecedented failure from the whole club and I am furious.. Good work MFC - some people are embarrassed by your continual on field issues and losses - I am embarrassed to support you as you fold to pressure, have zero credibility off field and would have been wound up if you were a public or private entity The MFC is an embarrassment to the AFL

Peter Jackson: review of the board coming ...
Cheap Seats replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
You could be right mate - in the state the club is at who can really be 100% sure I will admit I am an optimist - I will be shattered if you are right as this rebuild/disaster will last longer then 2013 Have a good long weekend mate - See you at the G -
Peter Jackson: review of the board coming ...
Cheap Seats replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
No one is questioning performance has been poor under Neeld (if we are just talking about game day results) The one assumption you get wrong Hardnut is that the club is not rebuilding - I believe the board and Neeld believe the MFC is rebuilding, that is the only reason why Neeld has kept his job to date and as much as I am the minority on here I think he should get to at least the end of 2013 to prove he can do it. Again I know I am the minority opinion on here and I cbf arguing my point but it has to be the only reason Neeld still has his job otherwise you are 100% spot on Hardnut -

Cheap Seats replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep poor administration decisions still haunt this club today - and it does go back to the Bailey era The club thought it was clever following the trend of Tanking now look at us - as bad if not worse the the Carlscum football club of the early 00's -

Great read WJ thank you for sharing It makes me feel less insane . I am with you PM - although results are not showing right now I still believe with hard work results will come. And we have to fix the very top of the club. I am not prepared to blame anyone solely for the club's predicament - Neeld has played his part as well by cutting blokes who had played 40 - 100 + games. but if we ever wanted elite performance it had to be done. Reading WJ's comment and listeing to PJ I have faith he can help restore this club
