  1. I just hope we don't use the Oliver injury as a cop out as to why our session will pitter out. Clearly our issues revolve around an inability to connect up forward and the inability for true forwards to be effective. I can't pin point issues but based on the consistent ineffective output is obvious there is something not right down there.
  2. Fair point I guess my comment was about overall output this season compared to 2021. I hope he can bring something but I'm not going to hold my breath.
  3. It's pretty obvious. Ball goes in, ball comes out. Rinse and repeat every game
  4. And player drop off as well. Bbb nowhere near it. Tmac could impact and kick straight, now nowhere to be seen. Fritsch selfish and can't finish Koz is koz at least he can hit a target and make things happen. Tracc can't finish Our half forward are too defensive but that's a game style thing. Grundy is ineffective I'd rather play schache Gawn down on form. Do we have anyone else? Just a complete [censored] show down there which is complicated by ineffective midfield ball use. Viney is tough as nails but rarely hits anything. Although in fairness to him he's been better this year and has plenty of company.
  5. Been happening for a long time. Even in 2021 it was an issue throughout the season. It just clicked when it mattered. The burning of the free players to bomb it in really ticks me off.
  6. Haha agree, He'd offer more than Grundy surley?
  7. That game perfectly sums is up. Get a lot of the ball, don't do much with it.
  8. Yep, this sums us up perfectly.
  9. True. I do think part of the reason is because goody favours defence and contests the bigger body slower types are preferred. But it does create a balance issue on offence.
  10. It's a great discussion point and you can take the glass half full or glass half empty option. Ive gone with glass half empty as since 2021 we have struggled to best the good sides. I think the pies win was out first real big win over the last 19 months. Again that's debatable but as we're talking about the dees I'll keep it to us. Only time will tell, and there would be another solid argument that no one wins finals in July, but I'd personally like to see us score more fluently against good sides I think the freo game confirmed we can be stopped by a good defence and if teams play high risk high reward footy it exposes our backline. But time will tell. We are definitely a chance, but the season is super close this year and we will need a lot to go right. The only other real discussion point (and its probably been brought up in another thread, sorry I've been sick and not following if that's the case), but do we have a good midfield balance? Are we too contested footy heavy and do not have enough ball users and speed? The midfield functioned well without Oliver. Clearly Oliver is a must play but I've always questioned if we carry too many ball winners and not enough ball users.
  11. There are some good points there. Let me summarise it this way, we've had a good win vs a good oppnent. But can we get it done when it matter? Like U said, time will tell, but we have some form and faith. Bugger me though, kick straight
  12. Yep spot on. Its what makes the difference between an average coach and a good coach and coaching team.
  13. Oliver - surplus asset? Haha take a bow jack. Great win. I think our midfield is more balanced. Id like to see JJ get more game time
  14. This is spot on. Without any insight myself I'm confident all coaches know how to win vs a particular opposition, to reinforce your pointe it's about execution. Just look at the Hawks v lions game. Fagan was interviewed pre game addressing how the lions wanted to play, turns out the players couldn't execute. I think the corridor style and attacking game plan still the best strategy for winning games. Finals though is a wait and see
  15. What a great example of what a selfish team we are, Harmes and Fritsch both go for speccies, ball rebounds for a Freo goal.
  16. I am not so fussed about his celebrations, but take a mark mate.
  17. The defensive game is DEAD football, surely they worked that out with the AFL rule changes. Umpires and AFL house want fast high scoring footy.
  18. How terrible is Grundy, geez Colingwood ripped us off
  19. These guys still think it is 2021, selfish and soft football. They aren't going to win games burning so many opportunities and palying selfish football.
  20. The umpiring is horrific. As bad as our offence.
  21. Dees haven't showed up Some pretty poor efforts out there ATM
  22. Be careful cobber, they will call you a racist But my stupid humour aside, i agree 100% with what you said
  23. It's all about image. The AFL are pretending to care about player safety when in fact they have done nothing to address it apart from banning the bump.
  24. Wot a load of [censored]
  25. Any news on jj? I might be one of the few hoping we keep him.
