hey, rod...
you could just have said the dog ate your homework...
thanks for the organising...
truly much appreciated...
You're welcome mate.
Am bummed, would have loved to come down, but with 2 exams in 3 days, just can't justify 90 mins in car plus the game.
-
Sorry Rollo,
Not going to make it, unfortunately due to lack of bookings I have had to book an exam on Monday and one on Wednesday, as fly out Thursday morning. A bit too much study to do, so won't be able to get there.
-
If we do manage to swap our compo pick and land Pederson, can we please not call him "Pedo"!
Then what about file??

Thanks for the many years of courageous service Riv.
Good luck at Geelong, amazingly I reckon your place in the team there would be safer than in our team. Not meant disrespectfully, but their will be a lot of competition for a spot in our back line over the next couple of years.

What a world we live in when people can have their own facts...
English your second language?
-
You say that like it is a fact.
You don't know how it will work in a game.
It is a fact.
The fact being that the OP was an opinion on what will happen to the position of first ruck under the new rules. The fact is my opinion is it will lead to Martin being a better first ruck (notice the word first).
It has nothing to do with the second ruck, so while you may love to make out like you know everything about football, master English first
-
It's a side point that is pretty important and overlooked by a great deal of people.
Your second ruck should be a forward that can ruck not the other way around.
And it effects this argument for Martin as 1st ruck greatly as he isn't the first ruck and that is why he is on the trade block.
No it doesn't. No effect at all.
The point is that the new rule changes will help ruckmen with the better leap, that being Martin.
-
Does anyone here think that the primary role of the back-up ruck is to ruck?
Because it ain't...
Thanks for that. In case you weren't sure, this thread is in relation to the primary ruck.
-
It's my understanding that you will no longer be able to use the third man up and only the designated ruck men are able to contest.
First time I've read that one. God I hope you are wrong.

Martin is over rated
I don't rate him, but nor do I Jamar and is why I argued for him to be traded last year.
He is a one year wonder. I would love to be wrong, but believe we've seen the best of him
-
Yeah I know Mark has just signed a three year contract, but I'd still test the waters.
Martin, who I'm not a huge fan off, I would have traded last week. This week, with the rule changes, Martin has suddenly become much much more valuable. He has a good leap and is a better endurance athlete than Jamar. The Natanui rule will favour Martin to a massive extent, such that I reckon he'd probably displace Jamar as number one ruck this year - unless one of Gawn or Spencil beat him to it.
These new ruck rules disgust me, can't believe they have been introduced as they are unnecessary with the ball up replacing the bounce, but like White before him, they will kill Jamar. Martin must stay.
Jamar on the other hand....

If I could find the ignore button I would.
I'm your name at top of screen, press it and the click on manage ignore preferences.

Broughton for Morton.
We are talking Freo here, amazingly, they've done worse trades..

I rate Dawes higher than I do Sharron Wellingham, he went for pick 17.
I think that this is a fair trade and will be a winner for the Demons for many years to come.
Well done to the footy department.

Anything to stop Dimattina one suspects
-
If he becomes an unrestricted free agent due to being cut, costs us nothing and had a contract with some pretty strict behavioural clauses, then yeah, he'd be worth considering. Still only 25 and we've had a need for decent small forwards for a while.
He's record isn't that flash, though he is definitely talented, so if the club passed, I wouldn't lose any sleep on it
-
FMD. I hardly use the hysteria on Ology as representative of much. And we all know the reason why the trade did not proceed. Supporters with half an IQ were staggered why a fringe player Was allowed to hold the club to ransom for a deal for a far better player. The club appear to meekly accept this when it was clear at that time Sewell was a better proposition.
You'd find the same type of response here, sadly the data is no longer available, but just continue to type BS and act like it was fact.
I did a disservice to TGR comparing you to him, he at least knows a bit about footy. From what I have seen of your posts and moderating 'skills' you are more like Demonlands RRE.
-
That's crap. The majority were wondering why it stalled and did not happen. There were a few odd posters that seemed to think Ferg's unquestionable bravery at the ball made up for other unquestionable critical deficiencies in his game.
Sorry but that's crap.
The majority of posters on both sites were against the trade. Sewell at the time had a lot of issues with OP. can't remember what side of the debate I was on, but know most supported Ferguson, only Old's brilliant retort stands out from it, to a comment from CAC who came onto both boards to settle the natives down.
I know you are the try hard TGR of this site, but don't try re-writing history on me:
Oh yeah, as to the BS about the majority wondering about why it stalled, we knew...
As always though Rhino, make things up if you think they suit your argument

I actually quite like Rodan, can be an exciting player to watch.
That said, if we pick him up, I'd be livid
-
Can remember many up in arms about the mooted trade of Ryan Ferguson and Brad Sewell.
The majority here were relieved when it didn't happen
-
While he's a talented player, until he looks like he gives a [censored] about playing for the Demons, then I may give a [censored] about what's happening with him
-
but how ? all the smarties are in here , lol
Yeah but a fair share here are the NQR ones....
-
Please tell me I missed the bandwagon.
If we get a decent off for a trade for Stef, take it and run as we won't get better. Reminds me of Paul Johnson - no idea how to use his size. Massively over-rated here

interesting isn't it how certain people get judged by a different yardstick than others
don't think I've read single 'wish him all the best' post regarding McLean or Scully
Funny, have read the same boards and seen many regarding McLean - none for Scully.
None recently, but a lot a few years ago, but true to form if facts don't fit your story, make them up...
Jai Sheahan moved on?

1st year of a 2 year contract....
