  1. What is he guilty of by the AFL's rules.

    Not playing Watts enough?

Fumbling for 3 mins in a Richmond game?

You can try BSing yourself as much as you want, you want a guilty verdict, just for individuals. Don't act like you are carrying on for the good of the club, it's all about him embarrassing you isn't it?

Guilty of what rules by definition, please tell me?

  2. But those actively trying to destroy them are putting the ongoing existence of the club at risk.

I've been embarrassed long before Schwab came along. Board after board have been embarrassing.

I won't defend Smooth, but I have utter contempt for people that will endanger our club to try destroy him for their personal satisfaction - as they (you?) clearly count getting even as being more important than standing up to a corporate bully.

Those using this saga to undermine him are even more pathetic than he is.

Ed. ps I don't know who you are, but have contempt with your current behaviour. My opinion on Schwab is widely known here, I will express it widely, along with my reservations and reasoning (where you'll find we are not dissimilar in beliefs - but wouldn't consider doing it now)

  3. I'm sure that's all very stirring, but what if it leaves us in Tasmania in a few years?

Better to die on your feet than live on your knees.

Try standing up straight if you get back in. Tall an proud. Remember it's the members club, something I doubt any Melbourne admin has ever realised.

Ed. it's late and hazy has corrected me!

  4. Ok, but what if it leaves us in Tasmania in a few years?

I'm approaching 40 and have yet to see a board or admin from the Melbourne FC that has impressed me - so if you happen to be an old board member, thanks for the effort, pity you were useless, - if you're not an old board member, disregard.

The petty and poisonous politics, the childish, follow the leader direction this club has undertaken for a long, long time is embarrassing.

The AFL think they can use us as a punching bag as for too long those that ran the club wore it, did next to nothing and carried on as if nothing happened (who can forget the pathetic response to us doing nothing when Beamer got 2 weeks for almost laying a bump - a disgrace and not by the AFL).

Enough is enough, we've never been ran well in my lifetime, are not now, but anyone who is happy for the club to bend over and take it again due to their pathetic little differences with smooth and his mates, is too dam selfish to love the Melbourne football club

  5. Went as well.

Spencer and Jordie McTackle doing boundary throw in routines with some coaches early and left.

Not sure whether Dwayne is mixing up David with Tommy Mac, as thought Tommy was one of our best on track, watched his quite closely and was impressed with his generally good disposal and loved seeing how frustrated he got when he didn't do things right, shows a will to win we also see from Chip that I love.

Jetta will repay the faith I've always had in him. Have never wavered in my belief he could be a good player, we'll see that this year.

    Gillies and Sellar impressed.

Watts wasn't great by foot today, but the hard running between drills and a few other things were he put in harder than those around him was great to see. Similarly, Blease had me doubting my faith in him, till he took Chip down in a tackle and the threw himself at the ball in a desperate second effort.

Terlich impressed, ahead of many who have been on the list longer, was bummed Strauss left so early.

Neeld walked 2 or 3 laps with Chunky at one stage, wish I could have eavesdropped!

The worries for me today were Couch, Nicho, Davis and Bail. The type of players you want to succeed as they have great attitudes and work their butts off, but their kicking just isn't up to scratch.

Byrnes and Rodan looked good out there IMO, but was underwhelmed with Pederson. Thought he was just lazy on the track for a lot of what I saw, only making an effort when the ball was heading his way on full oval drills. If Fitzy works his arse off he could beat Pedo for a spot (not there yet - lot to do).

Overall, they looked pretty good, but safe to say a truckload of work to do before the season kicks off.

  6. I will be happy if the club manages to escape sanctions, even if this means that Schwab and Co stick around. I still think they need to go but then this becomes a separate matter.

Fighting it out in the courts would be a no-win situation however.

To say I'm not a fan of smooth is not unknown here or on 'ology.

But we are being targeted as we are viewed as a soft target. Carlton were much more obvious, other clubs just as obvious. Wallet is on record as saying he did nothing to help them win from the box.

    Where are their charges?

Screw this, I'm fed up with being the easy target, fed up with new rule interpretations leading to our players getting rubbed out ridiculously. The line in the sand must be drawn and we must fight Vlad and his comrades tooth and nail.

If that leaves us stuck with smooth running the joint, it'd be a slightly bitter pill for me, but a lot better than laying down, rolling over and inviting Vlad to have his way with us again!

  7. most presidents are invisible rgrs with the exception of few limelight-hoggers like eddie and jeff, who have other reasons for wanting visibility

give me a run down by club of public statements by other presidents for comparison purposes

boards and their members are normally seen little and heard less

    Get it yourself.

The magical word in there is normally. Have a look up the meaning of the word normal and you might understand why I wish there was some more direct leadership from the president over the last 6 months.

  8. My God the seemingly blind faith in DM and CS beggars belief.

There is a search function people, use it if you want fans reasoning. This thread is reminding me of the Age and their current vendetta.

For the record, I have little to no faith in Schwab, I like Don but find him a bit too invisible for me. I'd be surprised if we couldn't do better, but right now, I'd support him/them without hesitation and would not consider listing my reservations in this thread or at this time!

It's the constant focus on Fans reservations, that is directing the thread to CS and DM

Edited for spelling and due to deluded point, so changed from him to them.

  9. I have to agree on this one. I asked the club on Twitter, and kept checking their website to see if training was on this morning. Nothing. The only reason I found out it was on was because I rang the club at 9.05pm. FYI, training Wednesday is a closed session and Friday will be at Casey. At this stage.

    Closed session, where?

  10. its a hard luck story alright , but do we have a tread for all injured enemies ? or sorry did he cross to us , ? five pages of it ffs , ,

If something seems weird, I suggest you have a look why. The first 4 pages of this thread were written in 2009, when the kid was drafted.

Before being a smartarse one should always make sure they are not acting like a moron!

  11. Any observations on Fitzy? He doesn't seem to rate a mention of late?
Saw a bit, not a lot of him. Missing the bulk of the likes of Gawn and Spencer, but has got bigger since joining us. Can't say he shone out, but did a few nice things.

A 50/50 prospect ATM, am a fan, but he's probably down the pecking order considering some of the units we have recruited.

  12. Triple the number of Melbourne supporters as there were watching the filth.

Hogan was working with Max Gawn, looked like a rover!

Strauss, phenomenal skills, beautiful kick. Sadly can't say the same for Davis, if today was any guide, he is going nowhere. Jordie had some nice kicks, wind was getting quite blustery. Young Jack is already a tank, wasn't hugely impressed with his kicking efficiency early when having a kick to kick with Chunky.

Reckon Dawes may have trimmed down a touch, still a beast though.

Davey with the pads put Frawley down pretty heavily which was impressive, pads or not.

Had some young kids so watched most of session (left early), but will happily answer any questions people might have.

Expect more, and better, reports from those on the other side of the ground.

With regards to big Max, was running well, lateral movement was very cautious though.

  13. What has the kid done that is so bad. On talent he should be a top 10 pick from what I have read. I can understand him falling a bit, but not to be picked up amazes me.

Would I take the punt and rookie him? Hell yes. Sure I only have a small idea of the whole picture, but on risk versus reward, I would do it in a heartbeat.
