You know, for some of those weird McKay around the corner kicks it would have been worth having someone coming at him from the other side, from behind him, his blind side. Obviously not the ones from the boundary line, but the others. He couldn't see them coming and it might add a bit of panic.

And kudos to the AFL video team for finding enough highlights from this game to put together a highlights package.

A hypothetical: imagine if we'd taken last night's defensive line-up into the last two games...

I actually like going to a game against one of the lesser clubs like Hawthorn. Plenty of seats in General Admission and on the train, generally relaxed atmosphere. You know, I really posted this so I could get in that 'lesser club' jibe at Hawthorn's expense. Happy days.

If you offered me a ten goal win before the game I would have taken it.

I feel awkward getting to the ground when it's not our home match. It's like the feeling when you leave a restaurant, pick up a coat from the rack and try to get it on for a while before you realise it's not yours. It's familiar, but different.

Four years, two hundred odd goals, consolidated in the All Australian side, a couple of premierships. It's going to be good.

He really got scragged, jumper dragged, interfered with in general, not one umpire saw anything. He kept going though, good sign.

Last night's game, in some ways, was a mirror image of so many games I've watched the Dees play over the years. The lower ranked team scraps, goes hard, leads for much of the game but in the end the higher ranked team, maybe flag favourites, prevails. Nice to be on the opposite side of the ledger for a change.

All I want is an eight goal first quarter from us. Is that too much to ask?
