So, given all of that, do we still want him?

I think there were a lot more use of the bench for max and Clarry than normal. Clarry also rested forward a lot. I think this was really smart by the coaches. I will check the TOG but I reckon it may be Max’s lowest for the year. He also let others take forward half ruck contests and sat on the wing a kick behind play. I think this contributed to us going 5:1 in the clearances to more breakeven. Also, We were brought down to their level a bit, and they did step up and make an effort (even if it was NEFL standard).

Went to the Dorks - bummers game. Neither has a game for finals. No pressure, must have been the lowest number of ball ups I’ve seen. Low tackle counts. Hawks too clever in their 50. Bummers only good when they spread from half back. Not scared of either.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 20
buck_nekkid replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Its interesting that the bookies pay out at 24 points in front. That must be statistically an important barrier. Those knobs dont like giving money away... -
The first time he smashes (legally) a Gold Coast player is going to be very exciting! In fact, I think it is a drinking game: Every time he slams someone = Skoll!

Just received an email from the kiddies school. AFL have given them some free tix to the match, so looks like they are trying to get some numbers along. Good luck with that!

3 direct and influential assists last week, beside his own goals. Plus plenty of movement to be a target and pressure. I dont underrate that performance, and if he builds more from here, will be brilliant add to the forward structure that has been missing him for the middle part of the season.

Maybe it was a far as he could go? If he was finding it a challenge to get up and about for training and playing it is a long season. He has been contributing at Casey, and perhaps he his his limit? If he has no future (as either he or the club saw it) in football, then why keep hitting up when it doesn't count for anything? Good luck with whatever lies ahead, HB

Is a Bleesing like a Toumpasing?

Perhaps it is code for ‘rest’....

A terrible situation. My thoughts are with them.

Gotta be happy that our last 5 games are all FTA, and then add finals as well. When we are on, we play the game in a style that is great to watch - even for neutrals! (this post was sponsored by the anti MFCSS league)

Fox show every game live. It’s in their offer. This will never happen.

Fencescore Vs Powerrangers EGO Stance
buck_nekkid replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
I thought it was about their pregame lineup, when they manspread, balls out and try to look tough. Then someone butchers the national anthem. Hey, no lineup for them this year! -
Reference: 2017 Grand Final. Enough said

The best one- Adelaide plays on to advantage. Ball moves to next contest where Crows are beaten. Umpire calls it back after about 15 seconds. They Cannot Do That! the deliberate oob, and not calling all the Crows incorrect disposals. Frosty was stiff to give up that goal after the calls of the previous 5 minutes. Plucked from the anus for maximum goal scoring opportunity Even that soft as butter 50. We still won.

I would say no change unless someone doesn’t come up. Hogan looked sore, let’s get him in the ice bath and see what happens. Smith has closing speed and athleticism that Pedo once dreamt about. Smith did that silly thing in the middle with the ball, but defensively covered spread and got to contests. Different to what Pedo offers. Spargo was fumbly, but got better. ANB will nearly be first picked

Fencescore Vs Powerrangers EGO Stance
buck_nekkid replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
Solid work, Fence. I would mark Hogan lower than that (4), Salem only a 5 (tackles and silly things work against), but would not be too far off with the rest. -
No idea the wind came up. Was still early. Nice to know and changes the view of the approach a bit

See your point 1

Ok, second half. Let’s bust this open

So lucky. We were so fumbly and rushed. They dominated us in the first. We should not still be in it, but we are. Maggots-my god they are one sided. Gotta switch up at half time

Congrats Jordan Lewis on 300 games

Well done Jordan. Thanks for doing it as a demon. Congratulations! -
3 Good things: We are not Carlton, and we used to be. Don't understimate how far we have come. Young talent building into elite talent. If the core of the list holds together, we are building something special The game plan works - we just have to play it. When we were 'on', we were a thing of beauty. A lot revolves around getting the defensive setups more consistently in place, and fixing the forward 50 connection. My god, we will then be scary. That's 3. There is a lot to be happy about the Dees right now. Even though it feels like the heart has been ripped out of the chest, we are creating something that should be dynastic.

Omac is safe. The Boston strangler wouldn’t have stopped Hawkins with lace out delivery and the space he was given in the 50. Frost was a slightly better option, but we were terrible at defending the middle and the half back, so the rest was downhill for us from there. Gee we miss Hibbard and Lever. I think JKH is under the most pressure, and perhaps it is a Bugg who gets the call-up. Vanders maybe not ready to go yet. Our forward 50 structure is abysmal. We are too predictable, and kick on top of people’s heads. IT takes significant 1:1 efforts to clunk these. That Irish idiot could have marked that last pass with a damned shopping trolley. If there was space, Hogan could lead. But that is not the way we set up. We run everyone to 30 m out, directly in front, as if it was a ‘how many can you fit in a phone box’ competition. Geelong cleared out their 50 and let Hawkins go to work. I would like to see a lot more work done on our structure here. Hogan would look a lot better with this sorted. I dont see a spot for Kielty yet. Frost played OK, and Joel Smith worked hard and did some reasonable things. Maybe move him up to the wing and bring in Wagner? Otherwise, its about injuries. Hibbard walks back in when ready. Lets see how they pull up (physically).
