  1. I would suggest getting a ride with a Geelong supporter. Hopefully it will be a very enjoyable ride home! As a kid, I remember doing the Cattery run with a cocky Geelong supporter from Melbourne. He crowed all the way down. When we won, us Melbourne supporters grinned from ear to ear the whole way back - didn’t say a word, but didn’t need to!
  2. Watts kicks 6? Who cares. In fact, he is building Port up for the disappointment in the real season. He can be the March Coleman medallist. he is no longer with us, and no longer fits who the demons are becoming. So stiff kaka.
  3. Call made during the game, not after it was all done and dusted. Several occasions the Tiggers got away with stuff, or got given softies, when it was there to be played for. Is Dusty ever going to get pinged for a dont argue? early on, it was blatant. Later, the Roos looked like they got the pity vote. I just called it as I saw it. what was I on? I think the couch.
  4. Richmond getting their premiership bonus - an extra 10-20% leeway in free kicks. Get away with stuff, and get given lollies.
  5. Perhaps I have been blinded by the Blight. Most seasons past, I would have been (at best) 55% pessimist and 45% optimist. However this year, I am more 40% pessimist, 60% optimist. I see these ahrse hats calling out a single thing (resilience, not enough hundred gamers, or whatever) as a reason we will fail. This year I see something different emerging. I believe we have more talent, depth, star potential players, focus, game plan and focus than I have seen in 20 years. I will disagree with commentators like Blight, but remember all the years the Dees looked good and screwed the pooch. I believe we will make the 8, and may have a crack at being a serious player in the finals if things go our way. (Please......)
  6. Would also like to see Pedo do a defensive number and run off that muppet McMuffin.
  7. I reckon Paddy has a sore back from carrying them all last year. GEELONG INJURY LIST Gary Ablett (hamstring) Scott Selwood (ankle) Patrick Dangerfield (sore back) Lachie Henderson (knee) Lincoln McCarthy (groin/hip) Tim Kelly (leg) Youngster Tim Kelly firmed for a Round 1 debut after an impressive display against the Suns, although he will be sore this week after copping a knock to the knee. Cats assistant Matthew Knights wasn’t worried about the injury, declaring after the game Kelly could have played out the match. The Cats fielded an inexperienced team that was without Patrick Dangerfield, Joel Selwood, Gary Ablett and Harry Taylor. Of that quartet, only Ablett is doubtful for Geelong’s second JLT match against Essendon this Sunday. Lachie Henderson and Scott Selwood are still recovering from their respective injuries. However, mature-aged rookie Stewart Crameri is a chance to play his former club, and Brandan Parfitt is also in the mix.
  8. Freo need an injection of talent... honestly, Hird should never be allowed any form of accreditation ever again, until he takes responsibility for what he did.
  9. I was amazed by this. Pushed the Melbourne player out of the way like something behind her was on discount. Then kicked the goal. Outrageous. No eyes on the ball or anything!
  10. Collingwood no skill and love the boundary. GWS are rusty. Unappealing game so far.
  11. The bit I saw (and it encouraged me to switch off)- Scummers had flooded back, and the Aints were going laterally back and forth outside 50 before bombing it straight to Liam Jones. Reminded me too much of our bad old days. Both sides were scrappy and lacked polish. Lets see if the Saints clean things up a bit for next week against us.
  12. How are they managing Lewis?
  13. With $300 mio in class action lawsuits on the way , he is personally liable as a director. May face hefty fines and disqulification, or even jail.
  14. Perhaps it was a closed fist. Christian sis say he was going to come down hard on any punching, including to the body. Open hand, next time. Weak as pizz, honestly. Glad they posted it, coz I missed it entirely!
  15. KB. Oh god. Creaming his dacks already. What a [censored]. They are 2 injuries away from average.
  16. Oliver accepted a $1500 penalty for something that happened with Jacobs. I didn't see it - anyone know? ps - should have been given a bonus of $1500....
  17. Funny, 12 months ago 'doing a Richmond' was choking and finishing 9th. We did that last year. Now 'doing a Richmond' means what? Keeping your squad on the park and winning a flag? We did a Richmond last year, lets follow in their footsteps again. On a serious note, Ninthmond were all about their pressure style, which is the basis of our game. With better quality skills and players, we may be about to 'outRichmond' the tigers...
  18. New year, new comp. Most teams (except Norf) will go into the season believing they are some chance to improve on last year. Some will, some won't. We have more talent, greater depth, seeming cohesion and cultural improvement and not so many injuries. If we can build our experience playing and winning under pressure, I think we will be a good chance against all comers. Geelong have Ducker, Danger and Gablett. Not sure what else. I always think by round 6 you have a pretty good idea on the year ahead. Last year the Swans were the exception to this rule. SO 6-0 for us and I will be a very happy camper!
  19. Really pleased he did well. Playing well against that rabble perhaps is not an indicator for selection. I’m sure the coaching team have a number of things they want to see, and need to see in context of better opposition for him to make it. Hannan may still be in front of him re pressure and tackling, but he looks like a great addition to the squad.
  20. It has been said, but Norf were vomitously bad. Our systems and style were deployed without suffocating pressure, and we could look like pure class. Hopefully the systems stand up to pressure in JLT2 against th3 Saints, who are supposed to be ‘similar’ in class/ ladder position as us. That will give us a better idea. However, great to have a 24 man AFLX game as a warm up to JLT2.
  21. Think there is a whole lot of really valuable team stuff going on. Hannan blocking for Fritsch, running in numbers, getting to the right places. This pleases me more than individual efforts. Now to hold them against the wind by controlling the play.
  22. A few fumbles and a few passing errors seemed to cost us. Hartung is their version of our Hunt - however he is the only one looking likely. For improvement: Stop fumbling Goals from scraps inside 30m (we dont get any reward) Stop Hartung’s run Over the back goals from our high press. Looking good: Max, Trac, Nibbler. Lots of others showing their wares. Looking in danger: No real standouts on the negative side for us - mostly small errors. Majak is having a mare for them
  23. So he uses what happened last year as a basis for deciding what will happen this year? There is nothing here about what we ARE doing relative to others. "They did this, they did that, I don't trust them!". Well, Get [censored] you [censored] polisher. A quality analysis would have looked at our list, our game style, our fitness and injuries, even our draw. But no, one bad game last season. And how well did he go tipping the Tigers to win last year? He can keep licking James Hird's taint and enjoy the high he gets off that.
  24. And if not ready, should have not been selected....in his case, rushed back was still true, he came back before he should have.
  25. Who came back after injury last year and was immediately at their best? Max? Viney? Watts? We had sub par performances on almost every occasion. What exactly is the myth?
