I suspect that one of a number of scenarios is well and truly happening 1) Roos is on the line but not hooked. A little old man and the sea here but an agreement may be in place to do it, but the finer minutae yet to be sorted. Until DONE nothing is absolutely certain nor announced 2) Is a done deal , just keeping mum whilst the assistants and "assistance" is worked through 3 ) Roos simply weighing up things. If there comes a No there will be time to prep the other candidates in all 3 instances there is NO reason the public would be any the wiser. Currently the most intriguing aspect for me is that he simply hasnt quashed the notion.(publicly ) This you would do if you had no interest. I mean what is to gain in the charade otherwise. Would make no sense to persist in some sort of game if indeed youre not in the game. Others have pointed to a distinctly valid reason for not announcing he HAS interest as that would simply open the flood gates. Would others have canvassed his interest given theres a probably likelyhood he may well be interested in the Dees, you betcha . I suspect hes politely informed others hes not interested in the jobs. . He hasnt said no. He hasnt lampooned the club for some time. Hes sort of critiqued the list as being OK if not brilliant. Many keep coming back to ( as I do in my mind ) that he hasnt said NO. Would be so easy to; matter closed, all move on. He doesnt strike me as the type to play meaningless games. Its curious for sure then there may actually be scenario 4 ) Mrs Roos isnt over the line yet. Though he'll get bucketloads, I cant see this being about money. Maybe in conjuction with 4) hes given the club an understanding to give an answer by a particular date, one that hasnt arrived yet. For no other reason than a gut feeling. I think the clubs about 3/4 of the way there, but no ink. Does Roos have a manager ?(other than Mrs Roos lol ) If so what murmurings from that direction ? Anyone au fait ?

I have received this back from the club Thought some may be interested "Thanks for your email. To explain, this week Nathan Jones has done an exclusive with Fox Footy, a segment with his younger brother for the Robbo Show and will do a pre-game interview when he arrives on Saturday. His ‘time line’ was always planned to go up on the site on Friday. In regards to Colin Sylvia, he did his first media appearances for the year on Wednesday compared to Nathan Jones who speaks with the media weekly. I hope this clarifies that we did not ignore Nathan Jones in the lead up to his 150th. Please feel free to contact me in the future if you have any questions. Cheers, Ryan"

its pretty poor isnt it and Im writing the club on this. Lamentable that a real champ and a goer gets usurped by the perenial showboat gunnabe. edit email sent its not good enough.

yeah theyll ease him in theyll start by feeding him 3 yaks and a cow then let him loose on some poor unsuspecting schmuck !! the next week he'll feed on a t rex after fighting it then take on a complete backline, but its steady as she goes, no rush ..

oh I expect he'll just keep writing for the Age, thats about it for me

Got to nail peg 1 first

on the surface id agree. But much is a charade....that and a plausible fall back position if things go pear shape.
-
Mjt.. My wife seldom lets me sleep in lol This also goes to the notion of the input a wife has on things
-
We essentially agree rp I just think Daveys time might be up (again) I fully concur with notion of parallel requirements but often you need to trisl 2 kids to get one good. This goes back to space and where some currently are situated with regard 'need' Thats all, well my spin at least

im discussing things that might well sway someones bias. That person being a very big part of team Roos who is #1 cab for our , that being Melbourne , coaching job.Last time i looked the mental health of a collingwood player would have 2/3 of 3/5 of f all to do with us. Just my thinking of course.

just thought id go revisit the notion as put forward in the OP. Here we see a need possibly for 12 slots, but im not sure that is necessary this year. After last years broom we might see only around 9-10 changed over. Some that might have been goners will stay if for only contractual impediments. as per OP , but ammended to give weight to the likelys its from MacDonald, Gillies, Jetta, Davis, Sellar, Davey, Nicholson, Tynan, Taggert, and possibly Magner and Couch. id add Bail to that list . Ive liked Bail but hes not impacting and not lighting fires. He may have used up his time,.. might have. Depending on trades we might solve a few with tw0-fers...i.e two out and one in in some trading combo. I suppose much will of course rest with the incoming coach's view on players. It has been accorded to Roos that he thought in the main we had an OK list. Be interesting to see who goes and who stays in that case tic toc tic toc
