  1. Gee ...if essendon are just starting to feel the awkardness then they in for an almighty amount of disruption.
  2. The actual world within which AFL exits is starting to align itself more with how Ive viewed the game for a long long while. Players are just that. Theyll come, theyll go. I invest little in them. I love the club>I want to see the team prosper and dont really care who wears the guernsey as long as they do it proudly and give there all as is the deal they agree to. The players movements will become even more fluid in time. its upon this that I then judge a players use to us. I dont want any more Frawleys etc.. no more Judas's. I dont care if Howe goes....and if he stays he needs to pick his socks up. Hes had some good games and a lot more very average ones. if hes worth more as a commodity why hesitate.
  3. With all due respectStuff marketing as it were...am interested in players that get us wins WINS=Marketing at its best
  4. Dont see it that way tbhNow into his 5th season..."Potential" shouldn't be a view. He ought to be established. ..now refining. Needs to be far more accomplished and roubded as a player. For mine...any hesitation to sign ...get rid of him. Roos will know this..in him I trust
  5. Just an ask.. i wonder if some of the lads actually became a little surprised that they WERE getting clearances, that they WERE getting inside 50's , in fact WERE in the game. Might have caught them napping mentally as to the last and most important bit..The Scoreboard ?? i.e Unfamiliar territory....might take getting used to !!
  6. A context for the game perhaps. First real hit out against a REAL opposition, who btw actually played fair dinkum. Wasnt a [censored] nancy pancy nab game like many. A few cobwebs blown away...a bit of rust still there for some. Might take a few games for some to get back into the real swing of things Training is an obvious essential and match simulation is only that...a weak approxiamation of reality. You cant stop start , reset, etc as the opposition doesnt give a rats. We are still seeing a morphing of this list. 10 names on it now wont be at years end. There WILL be some surprises ( for some ) as to who goes. I mention this even now at the early part of 2015 because thats where we are still at...Weve got an 'almost' list. Some of those wed like to see werent there....that will come. Weve got a few blokes who CAN play. Thats good. Weve also got a handful that are NQR That will change..in time Were a lot better already...needs more time and battle blooding
  7. Just need to remember what all that hard work getting into the fwd 50 is actually about. We squandered a lot of chances. But we HAD lots of chances and that wasnt a flook or accident. We're developing something. Some interesting signs on the wall though
  8. is he ?? Hes handy on a day...Came in set world alight........ fires diminished somewhat since Tbh not that fussed. There'll be others...just saying Wasnt fussed about chip...even less with Howe. stays good..Goes...so be it... next
  9. it just gets better and better......or rather more dumbfounding
  10. who says nothing much happens .. now this is rather a singularly interesting turn of events.
  11. Ive been running this up and down the flag pole...i.e Good cop bad Cop etc. I just dont think this is the AFL really. They dont really want anything to ever impeded the game. They and ethics go together like a Karcher and toothpaste. They ( AFL ) strike me as still thinking they are administering the BIg Picture ideals whilst bizarrely not realising they themselves are but a player and not the overseers. . They seem to be struggling with this.
  12. far too much time spent on frivolous things.....
  13. meanwhile...... The notion of shorter 'match based' penalties is really only that...a sort of open 3rd party lobbying attempt to yet again modify the landscape. ASADA havent taken a backward step yet and nor do I suspect theyre about to embark on such a course. A lot of people ( in Hilly places ) must be getting very worried. More silliness is bound to come before the decision. Just curious as to what now and from who .
  14. mate no one forces you to be here.. do yourself a favour
  15. They cant say they were duped , for mine, for this simple reason. Either they checked with ASADA ( which it seems no one did ) or they eyeballed and verify what they were being jabbed with. Thats called intelligence. Now it always befalls the individual to check, irrregardless. They would have had the chance, at a number of stages to do this. This is all just a mish mash patchwork of an invented excuse. The AFL are buying it...because it suits them. Wouldnt think for a moment ASADA is though. From the moment Dumbo rang his mate on the hill to give him the heads up til now with the Dill entertaining sweetheart deals to protect the comp the AFL have shown themselves as corrupt as anything in sport. As 2014 rightly suggests all these things must be removed from the interested parties and adjudicated by impartial peers
  16. I just love this furphy of " but guvna...we was dooped !!" They cant be duped if they were informed and signed waivers and knowingly went ahead whilst a number of others ...didn't. Possibly the afl ARE stupid enough to try the good cop bad cop routine and let WADA swing the bat. Ah dear...all about protecting their back yard and feathering their nests. Rude awakening ahead
  17. mine was deferential
  18. The old boys club is heading to the 21st century. ...the hard way me thinks
  19. context or tone ??
  20. WADA will be warming up in the bull-pen !!!
  21. Unbelievable. ...but totally believable. AFL are a joke and will share the lesson about to be dealy. These lightweight numnuts judt don't get it
  22. This is where it gets very interesting. In a court of law there are very strict rules about what you can and cant use as evidence and then how its used and how its weighted and ...and ....and...etc Im sure our learned Dland members can explain far better but there limits to how you can deduce and 'fill in the gaps" so to speak. At the tribunal far greater leniency is giving and if a reasoned and intelligent person was to see that A to B ....to D...and theres a very good indication of C , and nothing to contravene it then they may ( and are allowed ) to join the dots. Logic is the players enemy here and the the greatest ally of some justice happening about from all of this. This is why Little Hird ...in fact all the naughty ones were so desperate for it not to be allowed to get this far, because they cant hide behind a legal technicality...the Tribunal is allowed to think.
  23. welllll........goooooaaaaaaalllllleeeeeee, a could tickle me senseless with a broom.......who'd da thunk !!!!
  24. Probably does Hes in small company though really. Other than say Roy Masters...Pete Fitzy and even Caro there arent a lot compared to the dozens of the Windy Hill Fanboy assoc regularly crapping on for Ruperts mate. Tim Lane's done some good pieces...but im struggling to amass much of a list...just saying
  25. exactly...even the slightest nudge back.. alas.
