Interesting point. I go one further. It was self belief and trust of your fellow players. Its a little be raw and undefined in nature but well understood. Today EVERYTHING is drilled. There's groupthink. There the Leading Teams type of "insert phrase of choice" . Its a corporate cohesion of sorts....but not natural and organic. Its what your TOLD to do not what intuitively drives you. This synthetic belief falls apart because in reality...its not real. Its a practiced mantra not a 'non-negotiable' fron the player's core. The best teams allow individuals to rise to their abilities whilst encouraging their team mates to do likewise but not in a 'one instruct' fits all manner. I agree...very much about between the ears.

Jones is actually a very poor leader on field. He plays a resilient game but seldom actually leads.

Its not Lewis fault. Its not Buggs, Hogans or Bernie's. We play as a team. The team efforts at times were sub par. The stategems at times were 'curious'. The selection table often seemed at tilt. Jordan's fault we persisted with 2 extra off the back at times needlessly. His fault we shoved Tom down the back when he was obviously better up front. Jordans fault Bernie took kick ins ? How did we come to show up to the most important game as a bunch of nervous nellies waiting for Johno to mark their dance cards !! Why were we playing underdone repairees ? Our defence must have been sponsored by Swiss Cheese. Our forward line choreographed by the Follies Bergere. Whatever Leading Teams does pay them out and [censored] them off as Leadership is as plentiful as a Ham Sandwich at a Bar mitzvah !! No we choked. We choked sat and on various other outings. Its not a singularity, it's cultural. It seems intrinsic to the brickwork. The club still talks , still trips over, still spends before earning. Stop lambasting Lewis, start Listening to him.

have said all along...the team wasnt prepared properly for this game. Everything anecdotal and reported suggests we just got this very wrong from long ways out. So if this game...what others. May are rapturous of Goodwin..Ive seen nothing particularly special yet.

I personally cringe every Time Nate opens his mouth for the Club....yadda yadda yadda.. Yep ...great club player etc etc.. but . But its like the words are pumped in one orifice to come out the other...and so are tainted accordingly in the process .

Me thinks the CLUB got this wrong and stank it up big time.

It was interesting...in a fashion...and somewhat easier to do on the day having realised 15 mins in it was all over red rover, to watch a few players where possible under focus. Lewis lifted on the day ( and towards end of season , imho ) But just as he was ramping up...others were getting the nervous nancies. What the lads ( commentating ) are describing but not saying is...we CHOKED. The enormity of the occasion only hit home for most at or around the 12 min mark of last qtr. Up til then most were either unaware of the gravity or overcome by it. Signs of an overall immature team.
