Farewell Jesse Hogan
There's another possibility. And a perfectly understandable one. He never really got the chance to wholly immerse his inner self into the role. So much happening around him . Without doubt it's been hard. That's possibly the 'why' . The result is, for mine , he didn't seem as much into it as some others. I actually think a fresh start will do him well. Good luck to the lad. Go Dees

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I would think because we didn't attend the Dodoro school of "pizzing everyone off" that we are/should be well placed to deal with GC etc with whatever we exchange for Jesse.

its been mooted , not without reason that if he were staying...two simple words would suffice: "I'm staying!!" crickets !!!!!!!!!!!- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Gday Deanox...Im not ignoring the rest of your post as it were.. ( as many good points in there ) . Imho there is no may in MAY. ( that sounds so odd..lol ) Maybe his name ought be Steven Will. I agree as will many that we lost many games for all the reason youve mentioned....plus ONE...an important one for mine. The back structure was deliberately flawed. Why deliberate ? Because we no longer had a key element that was to make it humm...Lever. Once he went down ( sadly after finally finding his groove ) they (club ) shuffled. We no longer had enough of the same cards to cover...so it was 'make do " for the rest of the season. With the inability to chop off a lot of incoming...( goes to your mids lacking sufficient defending ) our backline, especially Oscar and Hibberd were left exposed as undermanned. Pig tried hard...so too really did Oscar , but McDonald isnt quite there yet and he got monstered at times. Enter May. There will always be games where despite the best planning the ball gets to our defenders quicker than desired. Its their job as defenders to ...well...defend. To regain the ball and initiate the rebound. We just dont do that altogether well just at the moment. As many suggest May means we duck shove downwards the roles. We wont be fielding all of May, McD and Frost at the same time...something gives here. The May effect is an upgrade to what we have presently.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Im not sure why losing Hogan is bad . Or did you particularly refer to us being with an open window? Either way Id say an argument could be mounted ( actually refer BRFE post #2776 this thread ) to put a perspective on this. What I think happens is a big name leaves so it must be bad. Quite frankly I think Hogans value is about to be realised and I dont think it's necessarily bad. I dont believe Hogan for all of his stats is more influential on a game than Lever. With or without Hogan we've found a way to goal quite often.( some might argue its a better structure even.. ) Lever going down created a distinct problem that was never fully covered. Any which way I agree with point 1 2 ive discussed 3 somewhat moot I think in years to come we will indeed look back upon this EOS as being quite pivotal , but I suspect not for the reasons many imagine just now- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
you doing the riddles now ??- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
is he here yet- Farewell Jesse Hogan
to be quite honest I couldnt care less what he gets paid by Freo. Jesse's a big boy...he has a manager..Im sure he'll be just fine SONS...just fine I do have some interest in what Freo give us- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Doesn't impact us...it impacts their cap. That is all.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
I'd be very surprised if Jesse wasn't at the Bluey, irrespective of any events ensuing.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
back to the future for the Dees...two rucks !!?- Farewell Jesse Hogan
why cant we have both.....( cue the meme) seriously... I said much earlier that Bell coming onboard might very likely change the complexion of this. I dont think it will however alter the outcome..( much )- Andrew Gaff
I hope Gaff didnt arrest his development- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Menzel Brown and Roughy were more dangerous than Buddy. Not just in goals but assists Its also about the holistic effect. May coming in changes the dynamic of our defence ( hopefully ) dramatically. In BIG games...defense is EVERYTHING,,,exhibit A : 29/9/2018 !!- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Prime !!- Andrew Gaff
A hypothetical...nothing more Before Eagles win Premiership..Gaff just an Eagle..biding his time...do I dont I... maybe a shltload of money aint a bad thing. After Eagles win Premiership .. Gaff an outsider in his own neighbourhood now. Hard to re-bond with existing...was looking to fresh fields anyway....but maybe the lustre of a Cup is shinier now than before.. Option....somewhere just for money..lots... somewhere else where that Window is ajar...still going to get more than a fist-full of green !! Hmmmmmm- Farewell Jesse Hogan
What boat are you in ?? SS Today/Tomorrow: This boat is sailing into turbulent waters but with a view to taking all on thats before it and having a real crack. Living in the moment RMS Pasado-Munyana: This old barge aint going anywhere in too much of a hurry , just in case there's a storm, or a reef. In fact it just sails in circles.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Just a question. If you had a pick 10, what can you get ? You get an early-ish roll of a die in a draft which might land you a decent player who in 2-3 years becomes serviceable after 40-50 games ( or might not ) OR Get you a very handy KPB with over a 10O games experience and ready to go...ready to impact. I know what I'd choose.- Andrew Gaff
You can never go back - Farewell Jesse Hogan
