repetition possibly...but not irony

Nice over reaction. Suits your stance. Real ironic? Surely you actually mean 'really ironic'. You seem to infer an unreal ironic. Now that's ironic. I get it you're among those that dismiss the notion as wildly heretic. I have no attachment to any player. I'll barrack for them in red and blue, otherwise they're irrelevant. I'm only interested in a good competitive team. That team needs balance , depth , ethics and the right attitude. It must work together as a team and implore the team ideal. I happen to think ( so it's just my opinion I grant ) that we function better without being hogan- centric. He hasn't shown imho the true grit required when face with superior competition. Others on the park do. I'm happy for the club to sort that out as I am for them to entertain offers. I don't really care whether he stays or goes. If he adds to the equation, fine. For mine the values placed upon him are exaggerated. That said I'm more than happy if other teams see greater value in him and offer accordingly.

And I said " he'll be" which infers a distant date. If you want to get pedantic

Thankyou...its valuable context. I dont think anyone really thinks the lad isnt talented. It's a very one sided extrapolation to say he'll be as good as Kennedy. That said it would not surprise me if WCE made a play for him

maybe you might want to study those same statistics closer

Or someone who might drop his head, play for frees, half hearted second efforts and go sookilala if it's not his day. No he doesn't do that all the time...but does often enough for some to take notice Anyone thinking he was the difference yesterday is kidding themselves.

always good to read an individual assessment...i.e not just a sheep Aspects I agree on...some I don't but that in the main is irrelevant as thats just my opinion. Nice to see yours.

Keep in mind any 'talk' for public consumption will invariably always push the status quo. Coaches are always backed...players always needed. No one EVER goes anywhere ... officially...til they do . It's the company line. You wouldn't really expect the MFC to say anything different...3 weeks from grabbing our next flag !!

No logical reason ? Kidding right ? I'm not for PUSHING him out the door. But enquiries WILL come... offers will come. Everyone needs to look at those rationally. If Jesse feels he wants to go then there is opportunity for us to trade ... and to use your boat analogy...a boat better suited to maybe a Mid role. There are better boats than Jesse for this..better established boats. Jesse in other roles is the actual unknown.

Reasonable invariably refers to reason. Stupidity is of the stupid. Some can discern. Some just don't like the idea. To them it's unpalatable. That's just preference.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Just highlights the stupidity of that post. Nothing more. There's been for the most a reasonable discussion about the various aspects of Hogan and what might prevail or transpire. None of this has any relevance to another's ridicule.

Cheers.. thanks for clarifying that LH

Then again Mr Pony Man...it would surprise many if the subject was left alone. Someone once suggested....youre only as good as your next game.. That can be expanded upon in many directions...but ultimately its common denominator is what value a player to the team/club....not hypothetically...but really.

A discussion with said PR at the Duke I think it was a number of years back , after he had aired the notion of Free agency and what you ( as a club do to 'contain " it ) held that its not so much a matter of a player proving anything...its about a club KNOWING exactly where it sits in the whole bigger picture. Yo always want to retain your best players but you are always going to see players move around. His thoughts were pretty much simply you get on the front foot and dont wait to be held to ransom as it were. Mr Roos looked at things very holistically...as do I . Again he was very matter of fact. I dont believe he was referring to Hogan at all as that wouldnt have been on the radar back then. It was a generic style discussion. At this moment I insert Jesse into that scenario. I would be very surprised that if Jesse was playing with us next year it wouldnt be on a new contract.

strangely thats exactly what Roos discussed. Its about a club

My understanding is the new elgibility guidelines ( yet to be sanctioned by the AFLPA ) would have Jesse as an RFA at next seasons end. Happy to be corrected on that.

I think it was actually Roos who suggested you ought to try to get an expected free agent to sign a year out...or indeed look to make the best of the situation with a view to trade. He was just being very matter of fact if recall this correctly. Whilst I concede Moonies acknowledgement that Hogan owes nothing more than already agreed to it would be a prudent course of action to protect our ( MFC ) position Ive no problem at all with the notion as outlined by X Flash My focus is on us winning a flag...and who knows what might happen still this year... But after that the EOS circus I think will throw up quite a few situations and offers that are going to test the mettle of clubs. Ours being one
