How about we just wait and worry then !!! Unlikely these days to be shorter than your old man . If only ends up Todds size all is fine
-
Well this is it Rojik we gain flexibility . Jamar is easilr capable of a bag of goals if left there all day but obviously a lesser benefit to the team overall . Lob him there for 5 or so minutes a quarter and we might get 2 or 3 a game. It's a bonus . If Hale gets same then we've got 5 or 6 snags as basis. The problem with that is ?

Not much to say .. Daisy pretty well summed up lol . The role : stay at home kpf, capable of relief rucking. Capabilty ? Is anestablished ruck of decent standard. Can play a strong forward role. Decent mark , good kick. Form? Has been good if not flash .. Recently out of favour. What to make of that ? Many answers and am trusting club to delve forthe right one.he doesn't need to be AA just good and consistently so . He'll be surrounded by talent. He won't need to carry thr forward burden alone just provide an element of focus and structure. He'll force easier defenders onto Jurrah Watts or Petterd . He'll be part of a cast ... Not the star!!

Just so long as it's not 192 !!!

stop growing at 16 ???? ummmmm NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!! a ridiculous worry

Interesting to see where the Toiges position their bar !!

When we are considering whether this pick is sound or we need to still have a pick here or there ...ask... What are we actually trying to achieve ? Its not to go to bed with the best collection of picks, its to have a decent side to filed in the season to season frolic called football. we have a fair stack of warehoused players of whom some may never play senior footy for lack of space. We need to fill certain roles within the makeup of the side. If using picks does that..then do it.

Must confess thought the same thing when read that . Carl ain't for the Dees

No one really likes to see anyone go off the rails or fall by the wayside. Unfulfilled potential always eats at people, both observers and the ones concerned. You have to ask yourself the purpose of the club? Its primarily to function as a football club enabling its team the best opportunities to have success. whilst many overlap the 'ideal' of operating as a 'family' its really a business, one that has to often make decisions based upon the best interests of the club as a whole often over-riding the individual's specific ambition. A lot of talent is never realised in life.... that just "is"

Being variously reported , herald sun SEN that Bomber has called it a day at Cats

Much prefer Grimes assuming the Generals role off half back . He's a very astute user and director of play . He can bring this into the midfield as a course of play but I'd much Peter him as a rebounding defender . Many want him as a midfielder but that's crowded territory. Just my view

That's a fair comment . Have been a Maric fan from early on and probably as frustrated as he is lol with his progress or lack of. He might benefit from the same efforts given by the club to other on-the-cusp developing players. He needs the chance tosettle into a forward arc role . Aussie is a live wire but hot and cold . Maric has some ver special qualities but little has bubbled to the surface to date ( at afl level) I'd love to see him blosom and flourish as a Dee but he might want that opportu ity elsewhere if he feels stifled at Melb

Definitely but this and next year are different in that the usuals shops are all but closed til the arvo ( figuratively speaking) Trading gains in the opportunity stakes . Might be just me but there's a he'll of a lot more players jumping ships requesting trades, or might just be more transparent this year for reasons unknown
-
I'm sure you'd get no odds offered that our priority is a kpf. Anything else that comes our way will be serendipity. We have a carpark of mids, a garage full of 2nd 3rd up utiity defenders, we have emerging forwards but lack that biggish stay at home forward. That's what the FD will be shopping for despite anything Harrington and co throw up as smoke

Hawthorn are expressing a bit of interest in Hale now as well . Should be a very active trade week me thinks
-
Maybe it will boil down to the idea of swapping a player of a type ,underperforming small forward midfield which we have a few of for another teams similar situatio Underperforming postional player of which they have a few) ...the rationale being we can chance that Hale might come on. Its not really a loss in that view. We will have ( hopefully ) KPP coming on in a few years...but what to do til then ?
-
That last bit rings somewhat loudly inthis instance . He's gone stale at Nth . I'd say in the vernacular he's a bit p!ssed off there. this then will impose (mentally) constraints that reflects onthe field. So the Stale Dale at nth might become Rave Dave at Dees ..might .. Will be interesting to see how indeed this pans out

Well versed there rpfc. Jamar has had to carry too much the role of the Ruck this year. Our experiments to date in releaving him have been marginal at best. We don't necessarily need thesecond ruck to emulateRussian just provide the contest and win what you can . I.e don't allow the opposition a free ride when Jamars rested. Russian resting up the sharp end is all but luxurious for us as he does present and can play that role .. Just he's better as our Ruck front end experiments: Newton 5/10 > fail Bate 7/10 occasional pass with little to enthuse , better elsewhere on field PJ 5/10 on a good day > fail Green 6/10 as ff 9/10 elsewhere .. Wasted at ff others ... Didn't really pan out if we had a missing link it's at FF . Our potency isn't so much determined by the FF but a halfway decent one allows the forward arc to function fluidly. I'm certainly not deterred should the club feel Hale has that potential .

Unstoppable ? I'm thinking there's a team that will most certainly stop them in their tracks ... Keep your eye on the Red and the Blue
-
A great return against realistic expectations . Probably a lil underdone and will embrace the preseason before redtamping his self on the footballing world. One of those whom I'm really looking forward to watching in 2011

Ahhh gotta love this time of year ... So many stories .. So few true .. Then the deals no one sees coming . Just can't see it happening .. Good for Junior if so but spoils his one club thing. Hell it's only footy. Good luck to all .. Carn Dees

And of course we'dtake anything Swan would say to the bank!!!!

Something another mentioned and a element (I think) of Bails strategy isthe makeup of forward structure. He wants the front 50 to play a particular style but just lacks a reiable type who can be that somewhat stay at home forward offering a decent target and marking option.it also forces opposition defences to man up in a manner which better suits our apparent forward tactics. Bails has been sort of frustrated here and so Hale ( rejuvinated with better opportnities at a new club) might just slot in . He's not brilliant but srrounded by Watts Jurrah Petterd etc he might just prove ahandful... I.e. Not cover him with 1st or2nd defender and were already ahead . Love to know what the FD s thoughts really are
-
So just what really have the Toiges and Sqawkers failed to try ? I don't know as am not privvy to any of that but you'd have to think they'd have tried to mentor and nurture the fella . Maybe he could come good but are we a social temperance organisation or a football club ? I.e. Not our priority to fix his ills
-
In theory .. Looks a likely lad . In practice we'd just be his third strike. Next !
