Hogan can start on this bench. No way he's taking a spot on the ground ahead of Fred Fanning, Jakovich, Schwarz (not Ox), Lyon and Farmer.
-
Out: Jetta, Garland, Pedersen, Hunt, Michie In: Lumumba, Dunn, Spencer, ANB, Kent Yup...Spencer! Gawn needs a chop out, they can both go forward, both are athletic, and I just remember the game against the Cats where it worked so well. At the moment Pedo is not working hard enough and Frost is (hopefully) being re-groomed as a defender at vfl level... B: Wagner - Dunn - Lumumba HB: Salem - T McDonald - Vince C: Stretch - N Jones - Bugg HF: Petracca - Watts - Kennedy F: Kent - Hogan - Garlett Foll: Gawn - Tyson - Viney I/c: Oliver - ANB - Spencer - Harmes

The amount of players who've lost their feet today is shocking. They are very, very good. We have fought hard I reckon but they're a better side than us.
-
We are being well beaten at the contest and we are not out of it. Big second half required. Gawn, Watts, and Garlett need to do a lot more.
-
very much so. it gives us a massive fillip. i think we're up against it tomorrow, but i am going to the football tomorrow thinking that we CAN win. great win tigers.
-
well, that was something
-
swans have not been that impressive tonight. they've done 'enough'. sort of like the hawks earlier today.
-
impressive, wiseblood. swans-tigers is good to watch, and that's all that matters.
-
richmond's pressure is great, this is good to watch.
-
they'll be looking to 'rebound' next week. we seem to get that a lot.
-
thoroughly enjoyed the second quarter of tigers-swans. be interesting to see if richmond can keep this up. they tightened the game right up. if deledio truly is on the market...are we interested? he and ellis are the only players i'd vaguely be keen on cos of their pace. oh, and probably rance and riewoldt.
-
watching bears-pies. bears are handball happy.
-
no, just a head knock to judas.
-
north coasted once they had the game won. they're better than a lot of people are giving them credit for - you don't finish top 4 two years in a row and not be at least a 'good' side.
-
he's a quality player. you can never have enough quality on your list.
-
gold coast are being stomped on by the giants. $cully is turning into a superstar mid. still would like to prise prestia and saad free from gc17.

Marshall no longer tied to the GWS aAcademy - should be a top 10 selection this year. -
The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
whatwhat say what replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
a fellow traveller on the football superhighway reckons that we'd be silly to sign him on a long-term contract with six figures after a $1... i completely disagree. i don't think people realise how good this kid can be. he's played less than 30 games and he's doing things 100-game key forwards can't do. i still think he'll be the best forward in the competition in five years, if not sooner, and that he's integral to our future premiership prospects. i think the equation is simple too - the team performs on the field, why would he want to go anywhere? a lot of that comes back to jesse too; "if it is to be...it's up to me!". i reckon he can deliver, big-time. -
can't wait to see how he goes tomorrow. as a matter of interest, does anyone know how much training he's done this week? jonno brown raised an interesting point re tex walker last nite, that because he's carrying an injury and not training, his 'touch' is slightly off as a result of the lack of bal-lhandling during the week. he reckons it's particularly true for power forwards - they need the slap of leather on hands throughout the week in order to feel comfortable reading the flight of the pill etc. i wonder how much that is true. also: i love jesse hogan in this 'good vibes' thread.
-
he would waltz into our forward line and provide a great chop-out for gawn. very, very good player.
-
as an unrestricted free agent he would've had interest from other parties. as per above, he'd be starting ruckman at richmond or the pies. again, it's good that players are committing to us.

Who is likely to move into Goodwin's seat at years end?
whatwhat say what replied to SPC98's topic in Melbourne Demons
As a rule, first year coaches tend to surround themselves with acquaintances they know and like - Clarko did it (former teammates at the Dees in Bruce and Yze), Roos has done it (former staff and players, such as Fruity Allison, tried to bring in Dew), Scott (Lappin etc) before they expand their circle of influence to a greater and lesser effect (Lyon this year, bringing in Hawks for their Intel). Whilst Goodwin is an unusual circumstance coming in as a apprentice - more akin to Longmire than Bucks, hopefully - I think it's reasonable to expect that he'll want fresh eyes to come in next year. Look to names at Crows and Bombers that he's played / worked with. Bassett is a logical call as such. -
Day offers far more flexibility not to mention skill than either of the Brown boys. I don't think he's worth half a million a year...but with the new CBA who knows - that might be chump change.
