  1. the fisted, listed: - us: mac andrew - aints: cam mckenzie - norf: riley sanders - meth coke: lance collard - flagmantle: jesse motlop and mitch edwards - dingley: tew jiath
  2. not remotely surprised it was a knee jerk change and now they've jerked the knee the other way it'll be the likes of andrew bassat's 'compromise' for the northern franchise academies
  3. a real mfcss sufferer would say "because there are no guarantees he's EVER coming back"
  4. different era with 1 extra game per home and away season with the advent of 'gil's round' 13 wins is the new 12 wins
  5. zerohanger is trash ladhams might be a delisted train-on option, stringer is no chance and they can't even spell 'marke' keane's name correctly, plus he's keen on going to the filth according to most other thources
  6. yeah arguably one of the best drafting years that taylor has had 3 premiership players with 3 picks within 10 of each other, and all deemed as speculative at the time outstanding imo lever is one of the best recruits we've ever had as well - a leader who performs an outstanding and crucial role i would assume it's between him and trac as our next skipper
  7. he can ask to his heart's content... i personally wouldn't rule the pear out of chasing him either fwiw premiership talls who are 24 years old, can play either end - and even pinch hit (sort of!) in the ruck - aren't dime a dozen
  8. based on current points a bundle of 38. 42, 47 is equivalent of pick 14... so right on the money for baggers and the bears' likely first rounder that depends on when the value cut-off for points is; last bit of speculation i saw was that it was expected to be end of third round, so after pick 54, so all those three picks will retain some value, if not as much as now if we did those three picks for baggers first rounder i'd be curious to see if the recruitment dept would add it to our 11 and see if we can get higher again it seems to have been our modus operandi since the advent of future picks
  9. almost as egregious as nic martin, who was on meth coke's 'train on' list and they passed on him completely would be very interested to see shifter's under 16 team for that year to see where he makes it i'm one of those 'why move him from half-back?' peeps, but the promise of amw means that it does become a possibility hasn't rivers trained with the mids for the last two pre-seasons or so, but it's taken an injury to petracca to see him unleashed into the midfield? could definitely see mcvee having that sort of impact if required
  10. i could be wrong, but i have a memory of jamar being a mollydooker really setting him apart as a ruckman at the time? he was very good, but - as @Wells 11 said - not in the same echelon as the three i called out
  11. this bit is symptomatic of the change of football that has happened in the time since - pressure forwards have become one of the key components of every good side, so it makes sense to target them less obsession, more being ahead of the curve this was very much a 'trades' year rather than a 'draft' one, and ended up being pretty important for our success 2018 to 2023, with hibberd such an important part of our side going forward with the best players coming late or in the rookie draft, it really seems like the choice cuts were relatively uncertain in this year
  12. angwin is the only name we've been linked with by the medja thus far other than battle, who seems to be choosing between staying at the aints or going to his 'childhood club', the dingley dorks it's a shame, really, as i think battle would perfectly suit our system
  13. of that selection, i'd be most keen on humphrey, but can't see any way gc17 will let him go hobbs, sheldrick, davies to a lesser degree, and binns cos he's 'known to the family' (well, a friend's family) wouldn't go near tsatas - he can't hit a target by foot
  14. curse of ruckman, ya say? i say a blessing... gawn - the greatest ever jeff white - they literally changed the rules to stop his dominance jim stynes - the original indestructible warrior fullarton is a forward who can ruck a bit, and jvr / petty / turner are far more effective at it than he is
  15. someone insert that photo of oliver and goodwin in an embrace post-game sure he's gettable...if we get the equivalent of harley reid back
  16. that's the sort of penalty i'd expect if he still played for us
  17. luke parker, come down
  18. caveat this that i watched the casey game via the stream... good size good running patterns good positioning to impact the play excellent defensive intent and tackling technique / aggressiveness needs refinement hard to judge skills with minimal possessions, but game awareness to make smart decisions seemed to be there lots to like, can definitely see him in #29 next year as a dees player
  19. it's going to be a pretty different team to the one that got smashed lever, melksham IN petracca, gawn OUT and who knows else will change bring the right attitude to the contest, attack via defence, get a bit of scoreboard momentum early... at the end of the match, we'll either be in a better position in the 8 or we'll be three games from 2nd it's a funny ol' season and there's a lot to play out still
  20. i'd go the other way not just because his contract length and price would be less, but i think we'd have to pay less for him would happily have either
  21. the quality of the stream is fine thru telstra tv, mediocre and variable thru apple tv, but on browser is abysmal to the point where you literally can't see what is happening as it's all pixels it says you need high speed to watch; clearly my 100mbps doesn't cut the mustard for the broadcast of games live nor on delay but MAN do the ads look crisp
  22. i thought it was a clear taking the legs out free kick
  23. go get liam ryan or shai bolton?
  24. so fritta's had nearly 20 more shots on goal? that's why he's so good... would be nice if he could nail a few more i'd be all over treacy if he was tim lamb vic boy over west? come home, son
