  1. wasn't anb given 3 weeks and because they protested it got bumped up to 4? i can definitely see danger getting this downgraded to 1
  2. and by the saturday of the game he'd revised it down to 23k expectation certainly a long way from the 45-50k that is being quoted up thread anyway, has nothing to do with clayton's contract...which i - like pert! - remain confident will get done
  3. never heard him ever mention that sort of forecast so until you can show me the quote then i think you are making it up while the so-called 'demon army' let the club down by not turning up, the only quote i saw he had re crowd figures on sen the week that whateley did the whole MoVe ThE pEpTiDeS tO tHe G narrative: “We’re expecting a really strong crowd and there’s certainly a high level of excitement about coming to the MCG for the first game and being part of it again. “There’s a lot to consider before anyone just throws up hypotheticals about moving a game like that.”
  4. eh? pert said on multiple pre-game interviews on 3aw and sen that he was hoping for 23k or thereabouts, which would be right in the standard spot for attendance vs freo, but that given no walk-ups were allowed we'd probably be missing 3-4,000 who fall in that criteria i wish people would actually listen to what was being said by the club and not simply make stuff up
  5. mitchell almost singlehandedly dragged hawthorn back from 40 points down to win by a 1 point with an absolutely blitz second half as a ball-winning midfielder he was CRAZY dominant and is integral to the hawks in the same way that oliver is for us pert on 3aw sounded very confident, very comfortable with how negotiations are proceeding with oliver's contract; i'm hoping it gets done sooner rather than later but i'm reasonably confident it will happen
  6. astbury / grimes are three premierships ahead... hopefully may / lever can match that in about three seasons' time!
  7. did scofield play for freo? he sure is barracking for em
  8. they're saying not so serious now probably pcl, so will likely miss half the season poor kid
  9. was that the game that guerra buried a then-flying cam bruce into the carpark, destroying his shoulder in the process? he was never quite the same after that
  10. he'll either stay and be one of our highest paid players or he'll go and net us two first round picks, minimum, cos he'll be signing for upwards of $900k a year to go elsewhere he's a gun and i'd rather keep him, but he needs to do the 'team things' a lot more
  11. some of us are celebrating his continued success as an afl player
  12. yeah, came from afl hq not the ticket merch; reckon yr right cos it's a livenation venue
  13. mostly agree, but don't know what makes you say that from where i stand, pert has been all about putting together the best team in the football dept as possible to help strive for on-field success, to reduce debt, while at the same time fighting for a future home base i have no qualms with his role as ceo whatsoever at this stage
  14. from a set up and positioning standpoint, viney from the best player in the set-up, petracca for the most consistent, oliver for the heart, max
  15. he was in the guts for times, but needed the runs in his legs - he still does not work defensively hard enough for long enough
  16. it was super swirly
  17. my vibe is that, once weed and sideshow bob are back plugger mac and jackson will be wingmen - their energy and gut running will be vital on the bigger spaces of the g - the problem might well be that t mac in particular is prone to sloppy field kicking i disagree that our performance was poor - i think the swirling wind had a significant impact on both team's skills todaym as did some bog ordinary decision making from the maggots what was pleasing is that we got smashed in clearances yet still run out fairly comfortable winners - it goes to show the nature of the change that our mids are trying to implement this season
  18. the bigger issue is that we don't actually have a big supporter base, so when the casuals drop off it's that much more noticeable cos we go from 35k crowds down to today's dismal figure
  19. potentially home final and the double chance either way!
  20. an email went out today from either hq or ticketek or both... afl member info: On-sale 10am AEDT, Tuesday, March 23 The following AFL members will have access from 10am AEDT: AFL Gold Members with Competing Club of Support AFL Silver Members with Competing Club of Support On-sale 11am AEDT, Tuesday, March 23 The following AFL members will have access from 11am AEDT: AFL Gold Members with Non-competing Club of Support AFL Silver Members with Non-competing Club of Support All AFL Bronze Members
  21. wait...he spells it with a capitol O? random...
  22. i was sitting with a freo fan and we were agreeing on more frees that were / weren't paid than the maggots
  23. i thought the umpiring was poor full stop - both sides either copped bizarre frees against or didn't get paid obvious frees for i think this is part of the issue of being 'off broadway' - the 'better' maggots officiate the bigger games
