Brad Green's Retirement - It's Official
Deestroy All replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
You don't want to know... Time for Brad to call it quits. He's been pretty bad for a season and a bit now, he's slow, not as accurate as he once was, and he's only getting a game because our forward line is in the medical ward. 5 snags against that abysmal GC backline doesn't change that, Jurrah and Clark would've kicked 30 between them. I personally wouldn't mind keeping him for depth, but I think it'd be more respectful to him if he had a farewell game, instead of fading away in the 2's like Cam Bruce's hair, and Cam Bruce himself. -
How To Make Melbourne 'Relevant' Again ...
Deestroy All replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's been in place for some years now... Lose Lose some more Keep losing Sack coach Get new coach Continue to lose Stop losing Flag -
He hit a few targets this week, warmed my heart. He does have a messed up kicking action, tries to kick in too much of a stride for a start, and I think when he shanks them with plenty of time, he's trying to kick through it too hard. These are good things, the action can be corrected, plus experience and his work ethic make me think he'll become a reliable kick. Could be worse, could be like Scully with a near perfect kicking action yet he couldn't hit Phil from 2 metres away.

I didn't see the injury, I noticed ironic cheers when the sub was announced, thought it was ordinary but wasn't surprised. As for opposition injuries? Love em. I cheered when Byron Picket tackled Kane Cornes into unconsciousness, and I was a big Kane Cornes fan. Neitz injuring Luke McCabe - pretty much career ending - is one of my all time favourite highlights. I cheered and laughed when Didak shanked that shot and hobbled off. And I love when Luke Tapscott tries to demolish someones rib cage.

Was a bit meh. Easy win, opposition were horrible. Harley Bennell was great to watch. Liked Howe and Tapscott's games. Blease needs to ease off the caffeine, settle a bit, and use some brains. Best thing was seeing the likes of Jamar, Jurrah, Watts and Clark walking around level 2, it was a reminder of the class we will be able to add back to the team next year. Gold Coast are miles off.

He has no idea really, rarely seen anyone so lost on a footy field (Spencer).

More disposals and better efficiency than Spudanui.

Is Howe the best contested mark you've seen?
Deestroy All replied to Deestroy All's topic in Melbourne Demons
I mentioned Stewie today too, he was brilliant. -
Thank you good sir.

I can't think of anyone more reliable. Not only the boring speccy ones, he's marks friggin everything.

They can, but I didn't. You can't strip me of my fishing man pants, no matter how badly you want to see the tackle.

Best day of my life.

The wooden spoon could seriously be ours
Deestroy All replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was discussing that today. We came to the conclusion no one cares about those 2 teams, or at least not as much as they care about us. Quite heart warming, really. -

I laughed. But I must disagree, Thaipantsman is all about winning, I doubt the spoon is worthy of fishing pants. Maybe some rotten bait. I'm going to change my tip in that thread to Gold Coast by 1 billion points, just to [censored] off WYL. -

Now it's sponsors... Aren't they signed on for a few years? Oh [censored], I forgot about the 0 dollar bonus they give us if we beat Gold Coast. Members, kids, free agents, sponsors, rugby converts, boat people, Ewoks... no one will love us if we win that spoon. -

"So Travis, what do you say, 1 million per season for 6 years, you in?" "Did you beat Gold Coast?" "No " "I'm in" Wouldn't make a lick of difference. -

Hahahaha. "So Travis, what do you say, 1 million per season for 6 years, you in?" "Did you beat Gold Coast?" "Yes!" "I'm in" -

So do you get an actual spoon or not? This is ruining my afternoon. -
What happens if a team runs out of fit players?

I can not give a f for the rest of the year? Good question, I have no idea. Super 12's football? -

So not coming last will be ok in the minds of the lot of people you speak about? If I was one of those fickle types that is looking for a final straw, I'd be long gone already. Success will cement members, finishing 16th is far from success obviously. Being able to do whatever you want with this draft, as well as Viney in the 2nd round would set us up for years, Mr Fickle and his kids will be back wearing shiny new jumpers with picks 1 and 2 on the back in no time. We're in a good spot draft wise anyway, but I fail to see how anyone wouldn't want to be in the BEST spot. -

We're not climbing anywhere this season, we'll be 16th no matter what, so the climb still hasn't begun. When it does begin, I'd rather do it with a team that can make it to the top. -

Deestroy All replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well we're not Geelong, we're pure rubbish. Beating Gold Coast and GWS by 1 billion points wouldn't change the fact that we're pure garbage and it wouldn't change the team's attitude about anything. We're rubbish, as if having absolute prime position in this draft wouldn't give you a woody. I'm not saying tank, we'd probably even fail at that, but I'd rather the spoon and the picks than some meaningless, sloppy win over the noobs. Places 9 - 18 mean nothing to me. -

Do you actually get a spoon? Always wondered that. At least we'd win something, sell it on eBay... one of the masochists on here will buy it...
