This is the Dan Patrick interview yeah? Had a bit of a Mick Malthouse Carlton about it :p saying hes been sacked 400 times and 'we need to do better'. I say get the paperwork out and direct swap for Jimmy G.

Melbourne - premiership contenders?
I sure hope so 58er. Can only have faith!

It's different to what we usually hear from the usual 'get on with the job' Wilson we usually hear. Got that bumper deal just 12 months ago but the guy obviously wants to win. I also think Pete Carroll has gone a bit stale in his play calling in recent years, doesn't vary it up much. Does he trust Russell enough? Speculating of course.

I think you'll find it hard to find an admirer in this thread!

The Paddy McCartin Thread
While it sounds a lot less silly than 6 months ago I'd still think it's not quite worth the punt. The point is though we are probably going to need cover at some point.

Melbourne - premiership contenders?
Ah who care about some article Gun to head I'd say we're finishing 10th this year. With a bit of luck we get a few more wins and make the 8 but I don't see anything higher than that. The fact that most of us still get extremely nervous when we face bottom 4 sides frightens me.

Seems that way for the first time in his career. Made it pretty clear he's unhappy with their line. Also belated thanks to @Macca for the comp. But not too much thanks because I never come close to winning!

Survey: Are you going to the G?
I will definitely go if it's allowed. My concerns about health and safety are there but minimal. If it came down to limited numbers I'd be happy to 'job share' with other members 1 game on 1 game off if something like that was put in place.

TMac Opens Up About 2020
A ripping pre season and now his opportunity is here as hopefully a silver lining to an injury scenario no-one hoped for. Gotta back him in.

Eddie McGuire Steps Down Effective Immediately
Exactly. It's ok to admit you don't know enough or haven't done enough walking in someone else's shoes but to pretend you do or claim you get it perfectly is what riles people up. Eddie's words of "We are not a racist club, never have been and are far from it". It's just uneducated hogwash and no-one wants to hear it anymore.

RE: Shaw Barrett I loved his game too. Personally would have loved him to get MVP he really set the tone for the game and brought the heat to Mahomes time and time again. Historically though if you don't do something crazy like run a pick back for a touchdown you don't get a look in.

Never fear, we're bringing back Josh Rosen so we're all set :p

Haven't decided if it was a great game for the general public but for those of us that appreciate championship defense it was brilliant. TB12 undoubtedly the GOAT now, he's squashed the silly 'he's Belichick's puppy' argument now. Mahomes and Reid had a very off night as Gorg correctly called it early. I thought we'd see a bit more open offense plays called in the second half but too many dropped balls and more stupid penalties cost them. Mahomes is special no doubt and he and the Cheifs will be back no doubt. Personally I was glad the torch wasn't passed just yet.

Yeah changed my mind 5 mins in. Too much shooting themself in the foot.'kicked themselves out of it. Arians and Leftwich have coached well.

I still give them a slight shot, Andy Reid half time adjustment specialist. But massive edge to the Bucs. Brady picking apart their front 7.

Plenty of football to go, game should open up a bit second half. Chiefs can score and score quickly but the plan is working so far for TB.

No brainer really. Not a world beater but need him for depth at very least.

Can't he just come to us instead? ?

We'll have to wait and see. I don't think he'll leave this year with Green Bay's window open and a coach who's proven to be an excellent play caller. I dunno, there'd have to be a bit to happen to make it a possibility.

Scully "steps away"
Like everyone, had high hopes. One of the best athletes to ever play. While I never thought he was a terrible kick he just never hit targets consistently enough. I'm kind of always surprised when this happens with a no.1 pick I'm still naive enough to think the sport is called football and that the best kid in the draft mostly likely can kick well but not always the case. This will sound silly but I'm just going to say it, I'm kind of relieved that players from that era like Watts and Scully are finishing. It feels like a long long period of side show stories and I'm looking forward to making new and better ones.
