Yeah it’s a good deal have used it quite a bit. Just have to remember to either start your own tab, can’t be used for a group unfortunately.

In the Saints game I heard someone behind me wanting to play North or Carlton because we could probably beat them. There is no side right now that we could pencil in the way we are playing right now.

I think I’ve given up on match selection. I’ve been pretty quiet on DL during the week and it’s pretty much because I have nothing to add lately. How many more changes can we really put through the wash cycle? Oscar to VFL, Weid to VFL, Trac to VFL I honestly think there’s been 3 players that haven’t been suggested a run in the Magoos. Keep Hore and Lockhart in, maybe persist with the Stretches and ANBs (mostly through lack of alternatives) and the rest can just happen for all I care.

I think in the first 4 games I was generally happy with how he was tracking and I still am. Last couple of weeks I would have liked to see him holding a couple more as it will make huge difference to not have the ball hitting the deck every single time. I think more games will help, has been far from our worst despite having a shocker last week. Certainly not ready to lead the line.

Demonland Podcast LIVE Tonight (30/4) @ 8:30pm
layzie replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Caught up on the podcast just now it’s been very hard to tune in lately. Good job guys, I specially liked Binman’s tactics for watching games on demand and trying not to have results spoiled. Anyone with Optus Sport might know how difficult this is as you have to squint and avoid even seeing the thumbnail of player or coach interviews and the facial expression can give a bit away! -
6. Gawn 5. Oliver 4. Hore 3. Brayshaw 2. Melksham 1. Salem Mention to Hibberd, good job.

Thought sleeping on it might help do a proper review but it didn’t, the 2 hours sleep doesn’t help matters. The intent from the outset was there and we ran hard to cover and spread (at least try to spread) but we did not have the cutting edge or composure to record a win and we are quite a way off last night’s opposition, who really didn’t play all that well. It really is quite incredible how we just wanted an effort last night. This really looked like a bottom ladder team having a crack and every little bit of good fortune coming from sheer hard work because the talent gap between the two sides was so big. Which is absolute bunk as we know. I don’t know, no-one seems to know. But my word I am getting sick to death of everyone I come into contact with asking me “What is wrong with Melbourne?” “What happened? They were in the preliminary finals last year?” You know, the kind of token idiot water cooler questions. I’m so sick of trying to explain this as it usually needs more than 5 mins and is a waste of my precious energy. Ala Saturday no potting of players, just the positives: Viney’s workrate was great but is not fast and is limited in the chaos ball game, Oliver seems to be intent on kicking more now after all the talk about how he doesn’t kick enough. I was one of those people, but it may have taken a bit away from a great handball first player. Marty Hore continues to impress me immensely, backs into packs and uses it well. Lockhart must stay in the side for the next month straight at least. Weideman is presenting but he really needs to hold a few more. Frost is working his end off and it has to be said. Ended up at the Social in Swan and then for the 3rd Anzac eve in a row, Maccas in Richmond for a sorrow drowning BM. Man that’s sad! I would have driven last night if it wasn’t humanly impossible to find parking and make it before the Anzac service (which was worth going to the game for alone mind you). Realised PT was on stupid time so ended up getting an Uber back east and then driving a friend home to Kensington, hit the hay at 3, up at 5 and yeah here I am.

September feels quite a while ago now.

Just don't see our forwards kicking the score
-
Am I completely missing something? Honestly, the conditions are perfect and we're handing the ball like a cake of soap?
-
Time to put the earphones in to block out the fugazi
-
Lockhart doesn't stop running!
-
We arent pressing as high which is good. Yeah it might mean we have to wait for runners to get forward but it's refreshing to not see opposition walking into open goals all the time.
-
Haha. Reminds me of "the customer is always right, except when they're wrong"
-
Weideman needs to clunk those

Leaky backline returns

Can't complain, they're having a dip. A lot more running back to help out as well.

In the MCC tonight and still manage to have a row of Richmond nuffies behind me..

I've still got Slice of Heaven stuck in my head

Just show some fight tonight Melbourne. That is all I’ve gotta say. Can’t believe it’s come to this, talking about a club like it’s the 2nd last game of a bottom 4 season. Couldnt care less about selections and who’s in he team or the opposition I just want to see the 22 we have on the park absolutely spent come final siren.

6. Salem 5. Harmes 4. Hore 3. Oliver 2. Brayshaw 1. Gawn Mention to Fritsch. In a backline that is almost always on red alert he uses it every single time.

I haven't a clue what to say. It's been a terrible day personally with some terrible news this morning and this has really just nailed it. I came to the game today to get a breather from all that was happening today, and the sad part is I don't regret it. Yep that's right, I would still rather get down to the g to see our beloved Dees belted just to escape from reality for a few hours Full bellies, that's the bottom line right now. Thinking the improvement comes naturally, fluffing up basic fundamentals. Looks more like 2014 than ever right now. The gameplan is fundamentally flawed and there is absolutely no point in denying it. When the first 5 of their scoring shots came from 6 inside 50s and we almost always as a result of us pressing high and caught out back? Well, it's time to strip back the BS.Troy Chaplin, I'm not one to call for a man's job but there has to be some serious scrutiny here because otherwise what metrics are we using to measure performance? We've talked about this ad nauseam. We get a million inside 50s and never score while they get like an 80 % return. Game over, we just can't compete with that. And just hold off before telling me their efficiency ended at only 55%. Watch the game. Not even gonna bother potting the poor performers. They know who they are. As for the positive contributors Salem continues to impress. I really liked Marty Gore's game I thought he showed a lot of courage at tense times. Gawn worked hard all game and Harmes was always in there. Fritsch really shows you what he has. In a backline where the pressure is on all the time he always uses it. That's it from me. I'm not going go say something stupid like I won't be back this season because it's a total lie. Stay strong people.
