  1. Wheels are in motion now Brodie, see you soon.
  2. It is what it is, get the best deal.
  3. I would also think pick 2 isn't quite enough value. I'd prefer Pick 2 and a late first rounder/early second and us give up something around the 30s in addition to Jackson. Maximise the trade.
  4. Oscar Allen would be perfect. Which is why WC won't trade him
  5. It's not that I don't wish him well in his career and life if he leaves. I just don't think about it.
  6. The question then becomes is it about not taking our chances early or a mindset issue? Are we going into our shell too quickly to protect a lead or do we need to look at the mental side of it more? Much to get under the microscope for all involved.
  7. Maybe JG, but Lever also ended up leaving a tire fire of a situation in Adelaide and was bullied for his troubles. Not saying he would have stayed if the Collective Minds thing didn't happen but there's more chance of bad happening than good in that situation. Luke is allowed to do as he sees fit, that's his choice. Personally I think a better career move would be to stay a few more seasons then consider returning rather than at 20 but as you say that is an outside opinion with no knowledge of the situation.

He made the plays when they counted. His cross field pass to an open Dante Pettis was not the easiest to make but he set himself well and pulled it off. Turning point in the game. Credit to the Bears, they have some great young prospects on D and I'm a big fan of Roquan Smith. Some things are in certain teams DNA and forcing turnovers has always been in Chicago's.
  9. I would have thought so. Maybe they wanted Harmes to keep holding the width with his running capacity.
  10. You and I both had the view that Hogan's decision to return home from the standpoint of a 'career move' was a terrible one and this one feels similar in a lot of ways to me. When you take everything into account: List, mentoring, successful culture, potential to grow as a person, money (although not as much but still decent) the total package of staying far outweighs the prospect of going home. He is not a bad person for wanting to go back but I really hope he doesn't live to regret the decision. Maybe the whole COVID thing means that the go home factor is more prevalent now, and everything feels further away now. I don't know.

As usual, we lose a RB in the first game. Ahh
  12. Nice move
  13. Schedule cleared and heart pre-broken.

Maybe it was a reasonable year and not so much a good year?
  15. Yeah well, Jon Ralph..
  16. Seriously that is such a load of bull honk.

It was a good year with a crap finish and now questions over our methods. That's in a nutshell.
  18. There are learnings out there, you just have to find them.
  19. Some old time stuff there!
  20. After beating us many teams coaches or players in interviews started with "We know Melbourne do XYZ". I t was pretty frustrating after a while.
  21. Sounds most likely because if Essendon knew they were paying $500K of Luke Parker's contract it would give them more insight into would the overall financials and that just seems a bit off.
  22. Would this require balance sheets of clubs to be released to other clubs? Or would the club looking to partake just hand over $500K to another club in good faith? It would seem to give clubs a better idea of what players at other clubs are earning as well. I may be missing something and possibly this information is now available everywhere for clubs but until someone jumps in with that kind of info this sounds gross.
  23. Talk about opening a Pandora's box. Imagine one company paying another company's employee to get more tax breaks or something like that? Not sure, need to know more but it doesn't have a good sound to it.
