How many 3rd tall forwards do we need?

Well I don't disagree with that! Especially at the footy. Those lockdowns really hurt a lot of us. But yeah I've been on and off DL a lot over the years. Sometimes it's what you need, sometimes it isn't.
  4. The memory for me will be that Rd 5 game last year. Replacement home game so sat on Ponsford bottom level and he really stood up to help us get that win. All the best Mitch!
  5. I would really, really, REALLY like to know why Hawthorn cut him in the first place.
  6. What we would have given to see a few more run and carry situations for Jayden this year, we just weren't able to play to his strengths in the end.
  7. Yeah it was bad timingbut I guess there was no point battling on if his heart wasn't in it. Hope there's some great things in store for him!
  8. There's still a bit of long time so see excitment when I see your name pop up!
  9. So many heart in mouth moments in such a short time period!

Yeah it's true, I mean really it's an antiquated concept. I remember being on a forum for nearly every interest I had. This is the only one I'd be on now and the only MFC social media, don't do facebook stuff at all.
  11. Well at least Ned Guy has experience moving big contracts to other clubs..
  12. Someone missed a chance to pinch it for the Eagles late but their name escapes me.
  13. I'd just like to hear Clint's take on it because I'm legitamately not following. Is it the logo? Is it selling out? Is it too many sponsors on the jumper? Is the company IG aligned with an evangelical group? What's the sticking point?
  14. Johnson was unstoppable in that game. One of my earliest memories along with the Lyon winning goal. That was some rivalry!

Yeah Cowboy takes my mind of this forum back a fair bit. Always great to chat music with. Had many a Pantera/ Opeth/metal chat with him!
  16. It sounds like the lightening Premiership, AFL X and every other gimmick they've had. I don't understand it nor do I understand extending the season by a game. Want more footy? Want to extend the season a week? Here's a novel concept: Bring back State of Origin. I would much rather see representitive football with the best players playing and training together than another round of teams either resting for finals or marching to their season deaths,
  17. Well the PSD threat would still be there but no-where near as strong as it would be leaving West Coast to hang around I agree.
  18. Its seriously like buying a new PC or laptop. The technology is apparently obsolete by the time you bring it home from the store.
  19. I would definitely like to see it given a go. I do think the jury is still out on Tommo keeping that back 6 as strong as it has been but I would definitely like to try it.
  20. I would like to try Petty forward and Tommo back at some point but I'm not convinced that Tommo would offer half of what Petty does down back. I like what Tommo does and he can lock down and spoil well but a lot of people are judging him on the 6 good games he played last year and suggesting the swap would be like for like.
  21. Yeah interesting, wonder if some other Vic suitors are waiting right to the death to make their slightly better offer?
  22. He can certainly help a team out up forward while not a world beater. This is how my 'non-list management experience non-Peter Bell genius experience mind' sees it. They could speak to clubs regarding the hypothetical of a pick 13 + 30 swap for a pick inside top 10 and if someone bites then take the 30 for Lobb, send top 10 F1 and F2 to us for Jackson without having to sit around for Dunkley. They may not be happy with 30 for Lobb but the net result is they get their man and don't keep building these jarring relationship with other list managers. This, as I said is just my armchair view of it. And as you said it comes down to how much they would be happy to part with Lobb as they may indeed want him around another year. But if they were happy to grant him his wish to return to Vic then that's what I would be consdering, doesn't look like it though.
  23. And then you have Lobb who also wants out and they're happy to go all hardline holding him to his contract and fluff around to right to the death of trade period. It's very cold stuff!
  24. You're right, it's a rock and a hard place and most likely waiting on Dunkley. I personally don't rate Lobb as a top 20 pick, had a great year but goes missing often too. Hypothetically if the offer for Lobb is pick 30 they could find a trade with someone pick 13 and 30 for a pick inside the top 10? It would just surprise me if they weren't exploring these scenarios in the background.
  25. Yeah it definitely makes sense. I'm just not a fan of their strategy, a player has requested to leave and they are happy to play with his future for the benefit of posturing. It's most likely what they are doing but it just doesn't quite sit right.
