You are kidding me! Just getting harder and harder to watch the World game now isn't it!
  2. Maybe he was never the same without her?
  3. I just thought of something, we've been super accurate this year and it's been great to watch. However at this point of the season, would people have preferred us to be like the previous few years of inaccuracy in front of goal but a consistent level of intensity/effort OR be generally accurate in front of goal but put out those 3 honker performances and times where it has looked like we've picked when to go. No right or wrong answer and probably a silly question but just a little Tuesday morning brain candy.
  4. I keep forgetting Caminiti is an actual player. Sounds made up
  5. Calling Dr DubCeeDub! Code Blue.
  6. What a promotional opportunity for one of the betting companies. "Brownlow betting, your player gets suspended, cashback! Up to $50 in bonus bets
  7. Is there such thing as a 'low grade 1' Webber? I first had this down as hammy tightness because (in my uninformed opinion) if there was even a partial a tear it seems strange to me that he was able to do some running and stretching yesterday. Got no idea now.
  8. True that, kind of keep forgetting this. Still, the life of a coach huh. Mental health is paramount.
  9. Huge news. Two of the best coaches in the modern era departing within a week of each other.
  10. Maybe the Pies aren't that good and it's just a case of everyone else stinking 🙂
  11. Yeah or ring a few Port fans to put Melbourne jumpers on and run onto the ground through our interchange gate.
  12. Well to be fair if anyone had the right to complain it was probably him when he got concussed by a brick.
  13. Did he feel the back of his thigh at any point?
  14. Has someone shopped this?
  15. There's every chance the absence of Oliver could make us more unpredictable through the middle and gives us some good results with a different mix that there isn't much film on. Obviously these things are usually short term sugar hits but if it's only a few games we need to do this for that it may work out well for us.
  16. I'd rather have an extra win right now than be the top scoring team just quietly..
  17. The more I watch it the more I see the pull up from Hunter. You can call it careless as much as you want but he has a right to contest the footy. I don't know what should happen but I'm fairly sure Buddy wouldn't have been rubbed out for this.
  18. I would like to think we learned quite a bit from this one, more than we would have learned from the Hawthorn game.
  19. It's almost like the ruthlessness has escaped this time in recent weeks. In 2021-22 you had Ed Langdon, not known as a physical player, backing into packs and going when it was his turn. Doing his bit for the team. You had Tom Mcdonald an endurance key forward not giving up on any contest and if he couldn't mark it he'd sometimes go for a forward's spoil with contact that would make defenders feel it. And if someone like Max was in any sort of trouble we'd be in their face in a flash. The overall level of physicality had raised about 5%. It just seems to be missing at the moment, it is something we can get back but I do agree we play our best when there's the unsociable element. It did remind me a bit of 2019 seeing the footage.
  20. Last week I asked about our tackling pressure through the middle of the ground and I thought this week we were exposed in this area. The overall tackle stats were 75-72 the way of Port but I think the nature of the wet game and more overall tackles inflated our stats a bit. We were often faced with the issue of a running opposition midfielder getting through the middle far too easily without enough pressure or defensive ability to stop them in their tracks. What can we do? Do we need to get the mouthguards out at training this week? Do we need to setup differently when defending in transition? Appreciate the thoughts.
  21. Exactly and in games where the rain is pelting down why on earth do you want the perfect clearance? Bang it in there and get to work on the ground or get some repeat forward 50 stoppages. The number of times I'd see an imminent takeaway from us in the middle turn out to be Port's was mind boggling.
  22. Thank you. It became extremely apparent that this game was quickly becoming a 'scores from clearance' game, especially when we started doing well in the 3rd quarter. I love the fact that Goody has so much faith in his system but on this occasion it was counter intuitive to persist with giving Port a leg up at stoppage. We couldn't get anything happening in our intercept game, Lever, Gawn and Grundy had 1 mark between them to half time. The metrics couldn't have suggested any more that we needed to make adjustments. I know a lot of people called for us to sit someone on Butters but I think we could have nullified his impact by just leveling up some numbers at the stoppages, if a few more of his contested possessions were ours it could have been the difference.
  23. Woey in the frame I reckon. Can always rotate down back.
  24. No excuses but a 6 day break followed by travel and a wet night can't be easy running.
  25. Sad to hear. I would like to see this stuff on Footy Classified for a change.
