  1. Never know, it's easy to hire a few rent a clowns with speakers these days..
  2. So important for them last night, will be a big loss if he's out.
  3. With the big game against the old enemy only days away, I’d like to share an interesting book by a local author. The Dominant Years by Ken Mitchell documents the period between 1926 and 1966 when Melbourne and Collingwood were the superpowers, during this time the VFL Grand Final featured at least one of these teams on 25 occasions. Ken Mitchell is a former VFL boundary umpire of 13 years and a former MFC director when Ron Barassi was lured back to the club as coach in the 80s and passionate about the history of the game as a neutral. He’s also good friends with former Collingwood premiership player Thorold Merrett who was a big supporter in the book being published and to remind the football world of the rivalry between these clubs and how the 1958 VFL premiership could be the most significant in history. Year by year they go through the premiership seasons of both clubs and there are some amazing photos from the time. A very accessible read. He isn’t selling in bookstores yet (Doesn’t have an ISBN yet either). I bought mine for $25 at the Cotham Rd Newsagency in Kew as Ken lives in that area. However if you are interested in getting a copy you can make an enquiry to [email protected], he’s always up for a good footy chat. Or DM me and I'll let you know if the newsagent still has any next time I'm in the area.
  4. Is that us or them doing that 😝
  5. Remember when Brock McLean was a late out in the 2006 QB game? I remember thinking we'd need to play the game of our lives. We did.
  6. Gee $500 could get you many heads!
  7. It's the one stat that doesn't flatter. Tackles inside 50 are worth their weight in gold.
  8. It was just really strange, Dermott can be bizarre at the best of times but I honestly thought he was about to state some list and structural related reasons as to why they didn't go with Ryder. Nek minnut he says they might like the nightlife too much and disrupt (or a word similar to disrupt) each other. I don't think Dermott is a racist but it does give you that little glimpse into the overall attitude at that time for HFC.
  9. Really hope they have more in them. A Carlton friend of mine says the only thing that gives him more joy than seeing Carlton win a flag is seeing Collingwood lose one. I on the other hand would prefer they stay away from any of that and stay bad for the rest of eternity.
  10. Yeah no idea, it's a real doozy though. Might be best to go with WatchAFL or get on a trial for one of the better VPNs.
  11. Great stuff. I also just liked seeing 31 mentioned a lot.
  12. What if you gave them 50 bucks?
  13. Noah Vanderhoff (Nice name...NOT!)
  14. We really need to get his kidneys before he can get Max's.
  15. First Tony Randall cancels now this.
  16. When Dipper tells the story of that night after training where he'd had a few too many and Jeans took him aside and struck the fear of God into him, saying he'd embarrassed the club and himself. Gives me shivers hearing it every time!
  17. Yeah I don't have high hopes for a Melb v Coll grand final. Not only will the pulse be racing all week but relationship with my father could be decimated. He's also the much nicer one out of us two, it sucks.
  18. If you can't tackle in this game, then we are well and truly stuffed. The game becomes a touch game waiting for the other team to make a mistake. It's outrageous, egregious, preposterous.
  19. Nice one, I didn't but went to Kew Primary. From memory he also played for Kew FC.
  20. How long does the game have left when players get rubbed out for these kinds of tackles.
  21. I heard this too Koz. My first reaction was "I wonder if Dermott will be happy to hear that again"
  22. That would be lovely Demon Disciple!
  23. Really hope we kick their butt at Marvel
