Changes vs Adelaide
Don't we have a guy at Casey that is kicking a number of goals each week. Bring in Weiderman, tell him to stand and make a contest against the loose man in defense, I reckon Geelong had 8-10 incept marks by their loose man around 30ms out from our goal. The blocked Hogans and McDonalds run to create the contest, we need a contest. Their isn't a lot at Casey out side this. In Weiderman Out JKH If it rains you wouldn't consider this though

POSTMATCH DISCUSSION - Round 18
Love your optimism but essentially we need to win 4 off our last 5 maybe 3 might sneak us in. We aren't Richmond of last year, to me we are still Melbourne of last year, when we need the result the brain takes over the doubt kicks in and we fall to pieces. We see this over and over and over again, it is all between the ears and we just can't fix it.

POSTMATCH DISCUSSION - Round 18
I haven't looked at much since the game finished, saw some footage today the Touhy mark, the players in the picture I saw was Jetta, Spargo and Salem, three of our smallest players, where were our talls. To me it was like our players wanted to score to win the game rather than stop them scoring. We had our chances, the 5 points we kicked in the last JKH, and I think ANB both had easy chances in the last few minutes but missed. Have to say, we controlled the game for 3 quarters, the only thing that kept Geelong in the was the intercept marks in the forward 50m by their loose player. I know it is easy from a far to think why can't we just man them up and stop this, it will effect our structure but when you control the game why leave this man spare.

Post Match brawl
Yeh because no opposition supporter can get into the game. Eagles supporters are top end of town whilst Dockers supporters really no one cares about the dockers. All I have seen in this is a couple of peanuts kicking a bloke when he was down and a complete hero at the end running in with a massive Hay maker and running out. Mob mentallity sets in, gives heros confidence when they know someone is massively out numbered. All that will happen is Geelong get more money from the state and federal government to remove the standing areas and replace them with a new 40 million dollar stand.

Neville Jetta Re-Signs until 2021
Great Story for any footballer. He was done and dusted, re-invented himself as a small defender.

Club to Assess Training Program
I had a kick there on Saturday afternoon for about an hour it was really hard, looked great but the grass offered no cushioning at all. I wonder if Collingwood had many stress related injuries when they trained at the same oval

Club to Assess Training Program
Our training oval is rock hard

Darwin game dumped
Our training oval is like concrete

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Pavlich was on so much money outside of football in WA, he was everywhere and Hogan would get the same in WA. Which to me might be one reason he does stay, going back to Perth everyone will want him, he doesn't strike me as a media type of guy and would rather surf with his mates than do this. WA is a fish bowl, it really can break good players

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Nasher, unlike a lot of others on this site, I don't see Hogan as the be all end all type. Would love to see him play at Melbourne for the next 8 odd years but any doubt we need to do what is best for the club. We wouldn't be able to match the Fremantle offer, lets not kid ourselves on that. To me if there is any risk trade him on our terms and not risk getting a buddy like pick that Hawthorn received.
-
Who do we realistically target for a trade?
Agree with this. On King, I've seen him a couple of times and I reckon he isn't that far away. Big blokes take a bit of time because they basically need to learn to play again as they have been big and playing against smaller kids has been easy. Now they have to learn to play against blokes that are bigger and the others aren't much shorter than you.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Is he a free agent in 2019? If so I would consider trading him at years end if there is any chance of him leaving at the end of 2019. Ideally we get him to sign a 3 year contact extension by end of the year, but if not Fremantle hand over 2 first round draft picks and he is yours. We have a bloke developing nicely at Casey that will be banging down the door in 2019.

My 3 word player analysis V Bulldogs
I saw one Tmac kick must have been when he was rucking and was down back, for a guy that is so dead eye with goal kicking his field kicking is really bad. Frost, the brain and legs go to fast and he gets himself into trouble, he can kick just picks the wrong option. Need to stick with him as we need him playing well to have any chance to make finals.

Run home to Finals - 2018
Pressure is on the players our next 5 games are on Channel 7, I reckon r23 will be on Channel 7 as well. It is time to perform when it really counts. 1998 was the best run home I've seen our club play, I think we went 5 straight leading into the finals playing what I still think is the most exciting football I have seen this club play. Hoping this year is the same

Losing Jack Viney
Went to goshes today for a kick with my son and a couple of his mates. All of us as soon as we walked onto the oval commented on how hard the ground was.

2018 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Must admit really concerned about these Next generation academies, looks like North, Collingwood and the doggies could be real winners this year with Father sons and NGA players. The kid North will get from Tasmania will be a gun and if no one bids for him prior to there first round pick they will get him for a high 20's pick. Collingwood have pick 15 and from memory next pick is in the 50s, they are set to get 2 players that should be top 20 picks for basically pick 15 and change.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16
Why can't a backman go in as your second ruck? Most teams have a tall forward that goes in and try to catch sides out but going smaller up forward whilst ruckman rest usually on the bench. Frost to ruck when the tall forward goes in, this keeps your forward structure. The Ins, we picked players based on where we are playing and that is good. Hopefully Kent has a ripping game at Casey next week, a forward line that has Spargo/Garlett/Kent it what we need

How Lever's absence is hurting the Demons
Lever has made our coaches, mids and forwards defensively lazy. Looks like to me we add Lever and we change our our game style to be more attacking knowing we have a gun key defender down back. The issue early in the season Lever was finding his feet, when he did we looked good, then injury comes and it has stuffed us up. Make no mistake this is a coaching issue called putting all eggs in one basket. All the defensive traits Roos tried to teach our players thrown out the door. Don't be sucked in this weekend, we will beat the Dockers, it will hide the issues until the Bulldogs get us the following week, then a massive downhill slide till the end of the season. We will finish with 10-12 wins with really 1 injured player

Changes v Fremantle
Is this the same Lewis that kicked out from Full Back straight to a St Kilda player, the same Lewis the centered the ball straight to a St Kilda player. We need to stop thinking what Lewis was but what he is. On changes, we need to keep some players in reserve for the following week Frost is a must, Spargo as well. No point going with three tall forwards in Darwin the last half the ball is always like soap. For me In Frost, Stretch, Spargo Out Weiderman, Petty and Tyson We need Garlett and Kent to find form really quickly at Casey

Our workrate
Yep, nothing that most supporters that understand footy haven't been saying for years. When the game is on our terms we are great as soon as we can't play the way we want we are disorganized and don't work hard enough to stop the momentum. You can go back to Paul Roos and the number of press conferences he mentioned that the side couldn't adjust during a quarter it took a qtr time or half time break for the coaches to address.
