I know. Boy, do I know. And if I didn’t know I’d know soon enough since you mention it at every. single. opportunity. For example, see above 🙄
Sorry that you are in denial

But we haven’t… and mentioning it every five minutes isn’t going to change that.
Premierships are bloody hard to win, yet clearly you and many others saw it as a given that we’d win at least three on the trot. Taking things like this for granted is a surefire way to set yourself up for disappointment. And no, I’m not saying we should hope for anything less than another Flag, but surely we don’t need to eternally dwell on the years that’ve elapsed.
Not as a given.
We have the Talent, but not the same drive we had in ‘21We should have won both years, but we were beaten on our home deck 4 times

I never said you should forget it or brush it under the carpet, but you’re going to the other extreme: you’re disproportionately dwelling on it, which is fine, it’s your prerogative. But need you point it out so frequently?????
Disproportionately dwelling on it?
It should be at the front of every post we all write this year

True.
After two years of getting a gazillion inside 50's yet scoring enough goals is an indictment. One is entitled to expect one's highly-paid, highly-skilled experts to derive strategies and bed them in over that time frame.
Thankyou. I truly don’t think Demon Supporters en masse are angry enough about the last 2 years. We certainly should be

Don’t you ever get tired of pointing this out? Serious question. I mean, ffs… enough already. You weave this into pretty much every discussion on DL. We all know only too well: four consecutive home final losses, consecutive straight sets exits etc., etc., bloody etc. 🙄
What do you want me to do about it? Forget it, brush it under the Carpet maybe?
IT IS A DISGRACEFUL STATISTIC
so, no i won’t forget it

I think 22 was forgivable, last year we let ourselves down massively in the finals........and before anyone says we only just lost those games.......please think first.........Collingwood pantsed us in the first quarter and a half and then we gagged in front of goals like a 12 year old trying to ask their first crush out on a date but just can't.........Carlton.......FME....we should of beaten them by 6-8 goals in a canter but played undisciplined, scared to lose football............injuries didn't lose us the either of those games.
That’s 4 Home Finals in a Row…..

Take as long as you want 'SWL', personally I can't see the point.
I'm looking forward to season 2024.
I wonder what it will bring???
I honestly have no idea.
After losing 4 home finals on the Home Ground, who would know….

Good post 'BBP'...
I must admit my inclination would have been to make similar moves to yours above.
The Grundy T Mac one is a bit harder to justify as Grundy unfortunately proved he was not much chop as a forward...at least Tommy had some runs on the board. I might have been more inclined to take Grundy over of Schache but he wouldn't have given us a lot of flexibility. At least Schache could have played ruck, forward or back but we didn't want to use him, so not much point in him being there really...
...without being part of the inner sanctum I guess we will never know the logic of why we did what we did.
You would have to think there was sound reasoning.
TMac had no runs on the board last September. He was a complete liability in both games. He couldn’t move. It was actually embarrassing to watch. Unforgivable from a Selection pov, but it was done not once but twice, whilst 2 fit blokes were not used.
will take a long time to forget last September- 3

I really can’t understand these incredibly negative opinions. We only needed to score one more goal a game last season & we go to one of the top forward lines. A few tweaks to our forward delivery & more importantly keeping our forwards on the ground will make a massive difference to our team. Get consistency on the scoreboard & that will impact our whole team dynamic. Name one team we haven’t matched it with & have lost for any other reason than because of our “much publicised forward deficiencies”.
The main problem was we had this same issue in 2022, and again in 2023
Massive F50 entries with very low conversion rates
The issue was not resolved during 2023 pre season

After last September i am staggered that he is going around again
I love Tom, but we played those 2 Finals a man down…

Like all the other clubs, much depends on the front 3rd and how it functions
Defence is of no real concern and either is our midfield strength but our entries from the midfield to our forwards is all important
It's pleasing that we've bolstered our forward line numbers with the acquisition of McAdam & Billings and we might perhaps see some moments from Tholstrup and maybe even Windsor. Jefferson & Fullarton might surprise too adding to the mainstays of Petty, JVR, Kozzie (forward/mid), Petracca (mid/forward), Fritsch and the small brigade
And then the connection forward. Our release forward from our midfield and wings needs to be first rate in terms of the mids having lots of time to dispose of the ball forward without being under undue pressure (midfield schemes needs to be B+ at least) and more importantly, the quality of those disposals to the right spots forward
If we can achieve 14-18 marks inside 50 per game on average, we'll go a long way towards another top 4 finish. And a number of those marks need to be in and around the hot spot rather than boundary side
A more scientific approach heading into our forward line is required and with the acquisition of McQualter, hopefully our F50 entries improve in terms of quality
Do all that and we'll finish high up on the ladder again
Let's not forget that we've still got a high quality list ... we just need to get the best out of that list
Our conversion rate has been very poor the last 2 years (50-60 inside 50’s a game) We have to use the ball so much better up forward.
I know it’s obvious, but we need to actually do it.- 4

You’re missing my point… it’s the childish name-calling with which I take issue. Also, the lack of respect.
Besides, I heard both Kate and Perty speak last night at the AGM and I’ll take that over eavesdropping at dinner tables any day.
You can have your opinion.
i have mine. This was not eavesdroppingi know the conversations took place, and got quite heated

What about calling them out over and over and over again… and again and again and again? And the name-calling… there’s nothing wrong with that?
All coaches make bad calls at times and yes, folks will call them out. But ffs, after about the thousandth time it’s well and truly insufferable. As for the disrespectful name-calling: that’s NEVER acceptable.
You may not like it, but Goodwin is under the pump for next year. From inside. Phone calls and video hookups have occurred and heared discussions over dinner tables
How many teams lose 4 home finals in succession with the talent we have on our list?
Sorry, but it’s not good enough

I’m not attacking him personally but the team discipline in that game was atrocious. The week prior we got jumped by the Pies and wet our pants. We’ve now lost 4 finals in a row. We just missed a golden opportunity to win a flag and we all know how rare that opportunity is…..so yes I’m a bit cranky about watching the pie scum with our medals. We have a list that demands we play Preliminary finals as a pass mark. We now sit below that pass mark and he’s the Boss. I’m pretty sure he’d be the first to admit the last 2 games weren’t his best. Also it’s a footy forum, surely we can pot the coach occasionally!
Anyway you’re clearly a passionate supporter and I like that you go into bat for the team.Well Said. Some bad calls were made, and there is nothing wrong with calling them out.
2 years that have ultimately been wasted- 1

I didn’t think it was possible to hate and despise Collingwood any more than I already hated and despised them, before September 2023
