I don't care for miserable pessimists especially when they quote me
Pouring out all their misery and bringing down the mood?
All you ever do is whinge. You'd clear a room in 5 minutes
And quit with your lies about how I've evaluated recruiting previously.
In actual fact, Jason Taylor recruits in exactly the right fashion and mirrors how I would go about it. And he's been at the club for about the same amount of time that I've been on this site
So where's my conflict? The answer is there isn't any
Anyway, spreading lies here is against the sites rules
So you should retract and apologise
I've never done it (spread lies) and nor should anyone else
So start behaving yourself (if that's at all possible)
Years ago you spent weeks saying drafting players was an absolute Lottery, and I and others on here disagreed with what you said
Remember…..

This is a classic example of your lies and innuendo
You've got no proof, none. You just made it up
Enough with the lies
If I said such a thing, I'd expect the whole site to question me for proof. And I'd have to be able to back up what I've said
But somehow you get away with it, time and time again
No I didn’t just make it up, it’s not my style to lie blatantly
You just don’t like hearing it.

You probably need to follow another sport as the MFC seems to do your head in. You and Wyl make a good pair ... full of misery
We are doing a lot of things right, we just need to adjust the forward connection. And we need fit forwards
It’s called having a different view and opinion.
The Misery was losing to The Filth and Carlton in Consecutive weeks during September.
The forward Gameplan needed adjustments after the ‘22 Season…..- 5

Well at least we agree that Flower played the corridor often
Which was the thrust of my original argument where I'd prefer it if the boundary line wasn't a friend for Langdon & Hunter
So absolutely knowing how much room you've got as a wingman might lead to using that area and then kicking 'down the line'
And I'm over seeing another inside 50 go boundary side and then get thumped out of bounds by the opposition. As previously discussed, those outcomes often leads to another wasted inside forward foray
Collingwood on the other hand .....
So you see, I explain my position rather than just sounding off at another loss
And you can't change your game plan in a week. We were stuck with that style and didn't have the forwards to carry out our plan (injuries to Brown, T-Mac*, Petty, Melksham, Fritsch**, Brayshaw***)
And just blaming Goodwin is poor analysis. He's not the midfield coach nor is he the forwards coach (last year that was the domain of Yze & Stafford) Nor is Goodwin to blame if the players miss easy shots at goal ... that's on the players
Goodwin is responsible for the game plan and style of play and he's got a bit of work to do. But sacked? With a 16 & 7 record in 2023, that's a fanciful suggestion
*T-Mac on one leg
** Fritsch not fit
***Brayshaw out effected our ability to play Petracca forward
You can change your Gameplan over Summer. We didn’t do it. Correct he is not the midfield coach, and sadly he took little notice of those coaches on gameday
Will be interesting to see if McQualter makes a difference

Perhaps we could expand some of the underground bunkers to put the admin and indoor facilities In. Get them to make the landing strip out of turf for a kick around.
Win win situation. So long as the 'Pelicans' don't mind
We have been sharing facilities for years, so i am sure we can work out a solution

That's folklore, Wyl
Something that has grown legs over the years to solidify the whole MCC/Robbie on the members wing story
But it's just a story as Flower also played on the Southern Stand wing. And that's without factoring in match ups
One thing is for sure, the boundary line was not Robbie's friend, he played the corridor
I saw most of Robbie’s games at the ‘G between ’73 and ‘87 and he definitely favoured the Members Wing regardless of which direction we were kicking. He was proficient on both sides of his body.
yes he played the corridor often, rarely the Southern Side.
youtube is a a reasonable reference -

The Raelians (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raëlism) want to build a landing area for Elohim in the image of a Pelican, and the third temple. Especially as Jerusalem looks unavailable.
"Raël stated that humanity has to build an embassy for the Elohim prior to their arrival on Earth and that it must include a landing pad for their spaceship.[91] He stated that it needed to be located on internationally recognised neutral territory so as not to indicate favour towards any one particular nation-state.[77] Initially, Raël sought permission to build it in Israel,[92] explaining this by reference to how the ancient Israelites were once in contact with the Elohim.[77] He also stated that this embassy would constitute the "Third Temple" referred to in Jewish prophecy.[93]"
Yes well Jerusalem definitely looks unavailable for the foreseeable future, so Caulfield seems a perfect landing strip!! 😊

I'll have go at the Caulfield racecourse.
Nature reserve, indigenous overlay of plants and landscaping around the existing ponds for the Pelicans and other wildlife.
The master plan indicates it as being a percentage of the area, leaving enough space for recreation.
I'd assume a lobby group wants it to be the main purpose of the space.
Could it be a new age meditation retreat?

It is you, it's just that you don't know that about yourself. You appeal to a certain demographic and you know who those people are. And that's ok, whatever floats your boat, Wyl
I'll say it again, if our facilities were so substandard, there's no way we win the flag training out of Casey
Truth is we did it tough as well flying all over the place within hubs and away from family
As hard as it gets whilst the Eagles gave up. We kept at it and won the flag playing great football
You of all people should know about doing it tough and overcoming adversity
I'm actually surprised that you're not agreeing with me but maybe you're playing to your audience
We didn’t train at Casey for most of 2021, remember the Hubs. Probably the most even Comp we have seen in years.
MFC Facilities have been sub standard since we were booted off the MCG. -

He wasn't on THAT wing all the time SWYL.. just more memorable when he was ;)
I think you will find he was. Robbie very rarely ran the Southern Wing

Geez Macca, that's got me thinking 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Turning the key on the wayback machine ... you might be right ...about left.
But he was a "modern" player and crossed the mid line to follow the ball. He coukd kick seemingly as well either foot.
I miss Robbie.... went to Soooo many games to watch him.
Robbie played the Members Wing…

You've obviously never played any sport or ever been involved if you believe that 17yo's or 18yo's are the finished product
Most develop at different stages and some are so advanced that they don't get any better (Morton, Toumpas etc) Others take ages so judging them at the same age is fraught with danger
And no one knows for sure either. It's an educated guess otherwise, there wouldn't be any busts
But hey, if we get told something over and over again we're inclined to believe it. Footy fans are easily brainwashed
e.g. that the umpires are out to get us (not true) And that's every group of supporters
Your problem is your gullibility. You never question anything, it's just a whingefest with you
Who has ever said that a 17 or 18 year old is the finished product?
The one aspect that gets undervalued is Attitude, that trait can be solid as a rock by 17-18
your last paragraph is just flat out funny
I am gullible and i never question anything.
I don’t think that is me at all -

If you had your way, we would have only have kept drafting teenagers (with a messiah thinking) without any other form of recruiting
So who got it right in the end?
That wasn’t my philosophy at all. I would have recruited Luke Ball, if you remember those discussions. But i also believe in recruiting THE RIGHT YOUNG talent. I don’t believe it is a lottery, if the right research is done thoroughly
Just to clarify

I never said that at all
Stop twisting my words
I've only ever said that drafting can be flawed and that is a statement of fact. Otherwise, there would never be any busts
And you want the coach sacked as well? It's all the umpires' fault?
You're good for a laugh, Wyl, I'll give you that
You have always given drafting no credit
Your knowledge of training facilities is even worse.
Yes i think it was time for a new Coach after 2 Failed Final Series, considering we went into ‘23 with the same Game Plan. New BloodUmpires? Having 4 of them is a joke. I blame the AFL actually

So how on Earth did we suddenly win a flag training out of Casey?
Doing it a bit tough never hurt anyone
Tigers won 3 flags training at a postage stamp of an oval. Yet we're forever hearing that teams should only train on MCG proportions
These things nearly always get blown out of proportion
For years we were told the Junction Oval ground was unfit for training. Yet it was easily had the best surface going around. No mud, great drainage. Like carpet
And a meeting room is a meeting room. Stick a few chairs in there and a whiteboard and away you go
Here is a man who has said Trading and Recruiting is all complete luck of the draw…. and now this….
Rightio…

December 2012, For the first time Six and his camera decided that it would be good to head down to training at the mighty Demons. Back then we were the ultimate nomads, no home base (what's changed) we didn't even have Gosch's paddock which was the domain of the Magpies. We trained on the rugby fields assigned to the Storm and even headed down to Linton Street Moorabbin which had already been abandoned by the Saints. Eleven games into that season Neeld was sacked with one win and an average losing margin of 77 points. The demons went down to the Saints in round 3 of the Nab cup at Casey Fields 2.7.6 (66) to 2.10.13 (91). The quality of the footage is not as good as I no longer have the original shots, but it should be OK if viewed on a phone or tablet.
The only men standing from back then appear to be Jack, T.Mac and the skipper.

You are clearly changing your own narrative here. In the second quote what you are implying is that Yze should have been the coach, not an assistant - but that was not what you earlier said.
But then again almost all of what you have said in this thread is rubbish.
And BTW, if Yze - great bloke, great player as he may be- was so good, given that he was the midfield coach of one of the greatest midfield combinations ever, why did we often get beaten out of the centre?
Because Goodwin wouldn’t take advice
He has the final say.
BTW I would have made Yze Coach this year (2024) my opinion

Okay just remember your place, leave the knowledgeable to discuss what is happening onfield and you can continue to wallow in your miserable MFCSS world. Then again it was you calling for Goodwin to resign last season after our loss to Carlton.
I have no doubt you have never had to plan for a footy season and ride the highs and lows it brings whilst accepting and acknowledging how hard flags are to win and having that mindset that if everything goes right you can win it.
You curse things and go through everything mentally what you did and didn’t do but you don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater and you certainly don’t fail to acknowledge progression in developing players and continuous list improvement
What a load of self serving twaddle.
I would have Kept Yze and said goodbye to Goodwin at the end of ‘23, YepMany Players have progressed to a point , but they don’t have the same drive (attitude) as has been there before. Too many Slow Starts
Goodwin is a very stubborn man, particularly on Matchday, and that was a big factor in Adem leaving
Take it or Leave, you have no idea Who or What i know about the MFC.
2 Cups have been thrown away, you may accept that, that is entirely up to you, but i certainly don’t have to Parrot Fashion your views.
